I noticed there's a wolfbane dagger on Doric's workbench. Wonder what that's about?

According to RSwiki:

The Wolfbane dagger in Doric's house was given to him by the king of Varrock, Roald, to use on a diplomatic mission to Morytania in the novel Return to Canifis.

Ah, nice that they reference it. Thanks :).

Got comp back. God, these tasks were so damn annoying. Luckily I for some reason already had 30 coal stored in that cart, so I technically skipped that task. :P Also for the mining guild task, definitely bring lava titan/golem/other mining familiar. Very easily beat other people who had dragon pickaxe with my rune pickaxe + titan. :P

That was you PID, not the titan :/

A titan will definitely help, but only because it makes you miss less. I wouldn't bother using one unless you have one in your bank already.

I think i'm stupid...How do we mark off the skills we have maxed already?

You still play? Pm me later.

The task list sucks. Thanks for having me run around runescape for bonus smithing xp I'll never use. Took me over two hours, not to mention having to do death plateau again. Ahh, the problem of having a comp cape.

Well that was the point, it did help. I was outmined several times before I brought one. Once I did I outmined all of them.

Hell yes at deactivating all the other challenges and leaving only dung.. For a soloer who is about halfway done. Plenty of benefit to be had left.

More xp than I could ever earn within the same time frame.

I was looking forward to marking off 200m skills, (Which I wasnt sure if they meant just those or 99's too.) aswell as several others that I didnt like, but this is more than I could of hoped for. DEACTIVE ALL! Besides that dung. No cap.

How do I create the first generation black war hammer? I cracked it, crushed it, then rusted it, but the guy won't accept it yet. I wish the note I had would actually update when I complete parts of the tasks.

Did you do that all in one step or did you talk to him inbetween? I cracked it, talked to him, crushed it, talked to him, etc. and it worke dout fine.

Thanks, I had done it all in 1 step previously.

The wolfbane dagger was there before the update, fyi.

EDIT: Aww, they decided to make golin raids members only.

I had to go and redo Death Platau which I didn't even realise had been updated! At least it didn't take me too long. I thought the commander bloke who starts the quest for you sounded just like the History Channel narrator :P

I thought the quest was nice, brought nicely up to date with a better storyline, I liked the teeny tiny living rock creatures as an introduction to the living cavern and it will be interesting to see if the wizard props up again at some point.

The extra tasks were nice in that they were really rewarding giving over 180k bonus xp if you do them all but he way in which they were done was cumbersome. There was a lot of backwards and forwarding. I would have preferred a single list (or two, one each for Boric and Doric) where things were crossed off on completion. The mithril mining task in the guild was mostly only a pain in the ass due to so many other people trying it as well and im sure it will die down in a day or two.

I like this update. The Daily Challenge update is awesome, and the quest was ok. Only thing I did not like is the new lvl 5 smithing requirement for the quest. It used to have no requirements at all. This makes it a tiny bit harder to do for new players, which is weird as this quest is designed for new players.

The tasks after the quest are easy to do. I like this style of quest rewards: more xp for the higher lvls in game.

Also, did anyone notice the mannequins in Doric's workplace improve in quality everytime you complete a task?

Honestly jagex stance on letting us block all, but one skill was a very good decision. Considering the nature of the dungeoneering community I consider it a slight tip of the hat to the struggling good-natured max stat dungeoners out there.

In reality it's nothing any worse than the assist system with effigies. I remember when I stopped actively training runecrafting at 95 and I literally got on and did my assists every day for 99 runecrafting. Of course that wasn't all I put into runecrafting, but that's besides the point.

I've blocked all the skills I'm 99 in which leaves only mining and smithing (which I'm shortly going to get 99 in) then farming, thieving and dungeoneering. I look forward to seeing what my task is today when I get home.

Raider axe, raider chainbody, raider shield.

The reward from killing the goblin boss of a goblin raid. (Or just talking to the raid leader if you are high level)

Why isn't this f2p? I have no idea.

Exactly. I got the impression from the BTS that it would be. How many members are going to train on goblins? Especially for low level rewards.

THE place for all free players to connect, hang out and talk about how awesome it is to be F2P.

So, Kaida is the real version of every fictional science-badass? That explains a lot, actually...

Tchyeah -- killed 15 goblins and the "boss" I got was a level 5 ...

Meanwhile, during the revised Doric quest I was assailed by level 2 monsters! The horror!!!! "Attacked by monsters? Are ye all right, Lassie?" I mean, it's cute and all, but they're not exactly difficult content, ya know?

... and why do the dwarves have [really fake and bad] Scottish accents?

By law, all fantasy dwarves have to follow this template: bearded Scottish alcoholics with a cultural love of giant axes/hammers, heavy armor, and smithing. Rivalry with elves is optional but recommended.

Really? Dang it! Is there a "manual" for this stuff, or are we just supposed to read "The Silmarillion"?
