Burnt Food Removal

Featured Replies

I know it has been a while but most people never think about it. I think that all kinds of burnt food should be removed since they do not serve any purposes other than an encumbrance (C'mon! Why the heck would you put the unusable burnt food into your inventory instead of discarding/dropping it immediately? Don't you think that's illogical?).

The burnt meat is required for the quest "Witch's Potion". With this update, the only way to obtain it is to cook the meat again.

P.S. If you burnt a vile fish in a DG puzzle, a message will appear "You burn the fish so spectacularly there is nothing left of it." and no burnt fish will appear. Why doesn't Jagex make all kinds of burnt food work this way?

Because some of us have burnt fish collections. =3

I got a burnt monkfish in my bank, you mad!?

Then why are you keeping it? It's useless.

I think that there would be plenty of burnt food collectors who would get mad if this suggestion was made real. And really, just having your food item disappear when you cook it wrongly, how logical is that :P ?

How about if they are converted to money prior to removal based on the type of the food? Also if you burnt the food, you discard it immediately rather than having it in your inventory, more logical isn't it?

I collect them :P

Well you must consider that a lot of people like having a burnt food collection. It's not illogical, it's just how some people are.

Besides don't you need burnt meat for witch's potion quest, sorry I mean miniquest now.

As you level up cooking you get less of a chance of burning food. When you first get to cook lobsters you have a good chance of burning them, but as you progress through the levels, you get less of a chance to burn it. That is the whole point of the cooking skill.

Yeah they need to show some way that you mess up cooking - I mean I guess it could crumble to dust?

As said above people collect any kind of stuff...

My brother used to gather ashes lol.

Indeed. There are a LOT of different Item collections in RS.

& @OP: What do you do with your Burnt Food? Did you know that you could make 100-500+ GP each Burnt Fish?

I wouldn't say remove but add an option to just drop all burnt stuff. Right now I just bank it so I can note it all and drop it all at once.

I know it's pretty right now but, I'll get there(I hope :P).

I am with Alex, they should make it an option to drop all burnt food.

I wonder if you can put it on your bar and drop all.

I hope this never happens, and I hope they never release burnts onto ge. It would make me very sad. :(

I believe burnt food now gets stacked in your inventory.... So it's easier to drop all at once or store it to sell.

I like to think of the Dark Bow like a Rocket Propelled Grenade (RPG) - you get one shot and then you're screwed.

Kind of a useless update tbh. Would much rather see a lot of other things then this...

There are plenty of potentially more useful updates that get ignored for other updates.

And?

I don't really see your point.

The point is not to be surprised when updates are made that aren't very useful. Other than that, there is no real point, it's just a statement, so it doesn't matter if you don't see a point.

I was being sarcastic ;p

I'd understand, why would anyone be mad about that even when using the meme? :P I've been playing since Jan 2003 and feel the same, actually. ABout how we should have the option to drop the right away
