I think that 3 mil for a whip is more than enough. You slayers forgot that other people also work to get that 3 mil. And not many poeple can make 1 mil an hour so the people who buy a whip most of the time spended more time getting the cash.

 

Im now training my fishing ti lvl 76 to get fast cash and when i get lvl 76 i will have enough lobs to buy a whip. And fishing 12k lobs or getting lvl 76 fishing isn't easy.

 

I think whips will only go down in price because the people who can make a mil in ahour already got one and the people who have to work hard won't buy a whip for 5 mil.

 

In any case i hope theyre cheaper when i get lvl 76 fishing.

Whips would almost have to go down, more people to 85 slayer, you can pie your slayer now i believe, plenty of people with a higher source of money have spent to get one. I sold mine while working on wc and fletch to not hold on to an item thats droping in price, but its starting to go back up :?

Now they will drop, if you are lucky, 1 out of ever 1000 Abyssal Demon's killed.

 

 

 

The effort, time, and expense required to get one are now much higher than they were in the past, becaseu of this its value should rise.

 

 

 

I am now refusing to sell my whips for less than 5 Million GP. I would rather let them rot in my bank then to allow an unskilled market watcher the ability to get one.

 

 

 

Those of you who get one, take a look back and see how hard it was to procure. Dont sell it. If we all do this the price will rise to what it is actually worth.

I been talking with other 85+ slayers and i wanna do that too. Yes more people have 85 slayer but how many actually go for whips, most continue the slaying with Nechs and such. Merchant nubs have taken all the hard work us 85 slayers slaved for and making our efforts worth nothing. The price is so low i just give friends whips now. its ridiculious.

 

 

 

I suggest all 85 slayers hold on to them whips in ur bank. Make our slave work worth something.

D longs were released with lost city, you could -buy- them from a -store- for -100k- after the -quest-. Therefore, after people realized that you could -get- them that way and it became -common- knowledge, then they went to 100k and stayed there.

 

 

 

There is no whip store.

 

 

 

Therefore, it will rise or fall, it does not have a static price.

I see ALOT of people get 85 slayer and then just camp there for whips, I hate those people. They make training harder, because whenever I get an Abyssal Demon task, the place is full! World after world, a trainer per demon, most of them 83 to 85 slayer (damn wild pie users).

 

Btw, I'm 91 Slayer.

 

 

 

But what if Jagex made it so, that Slayer Monsters only drop items when you have that specific monster as a task ?

interesting but its too late for that now to really affect whips. If they released a new item however that could work (hopefully an uber str training wep)

Prices drop man and it becomes a waste to just get an item of lesser value. Soon Guthan or Ahrim's will reach so low that people will think it's a waste to do barrows anymore. The only good thing is rares. They will never be dropped again, so that's why I bought one ;)

Wanna kno wat? wat happened to having fun in runescape?? Money this money that blah blah blah i hate all the merchanters in this game. YOU ruined the economy and YOU runied the market, and YOU ruined everything. I wish that Jagex would 1 day just clear out every1s bank and start from scratch, i have enough times.

Couldn't agree more on Value compared to how rare they are and level needed for these.

 

 

 

Think of barrows pricing. The prices are fairly high for these armors. But now you see lvl 70's selling Guthan spears for 6m. Not only do you get rare drops also all the bloods and chaos's you get from chests. All this takes is 43 Prayer and decent def and mage with some prayer pots.

 

 

 

Where with slayer, it takes the time and effert to gain at least 80 slayer (You wildy pie eaters you!) to 85 slayer. Which again is nothing to shrug your shoulders at. I know trainin Herblore, fishing, etc etc is time consuming but slayer is what it is.

 

 

 

Where was I going with this? Whips are a becoming rarer by the day with More Whip pures out there killin each other.. More players gettin 70 att. and less whips coming into the market. Where as barrows the market is overpriced and the demand is less then the supply and suppliers.

 

 

 

Whips should be 3m.. nah.. They should be back around 3.8 to 6m with Guthan spear dropping to 3.8m!

Attempting to manipulate whip price is IMPOSSIBLE. Do you understand me? IMPOSSIBLE. There is no way you will get every person with 85 slayer to magically stop selling whips, there will always be people willing to sell lower, so get over it and stop acting like you busted your butts for nothing. It annoys me that super weapon poison has practically become unsellable due to huge supply. Am I gonna whine or rant about it? No. I missed the boat by not being 82 herblore and 70 farming a few months ago. That's life.

 

 

 

Whips are non-consumable (barring idiots who alch theirs or die with no looters around), and more enter the game every day. Yeah, more people get to 70 attack daily too, but not only slayers sell whips.

 

 

 

Merchants have NOTHING to do with the price drop. Everyone wants to blame merchants for everything from prices going DOWN to prices going UP. Get a better scapegoat - using the merchant card makes you look like a lobotomy patient.

 

 

 

What we're seeing is the market trying to find an eqilibrium price. Guess what, you don't get to set that price. Everyone has a little bit of a say. The whip is really worth... guess what.... what people are willing to PAY for it. Not what you say, not what the alch value is, not what the magic 8 ball says.

 

 

 

You want prices to go up? Fine. That's understandable. But barring a drop rate reduction (which some say has already come), the long term trend is down. Get with the program.

There is no debate. Non 85 slayers and those that think they deserve a whip for cheap call the slayers greedy noobs, 85 slayers who actually have to camp at the Abyssals fret that the drop isn't as frequent as it once was and that its value should rise for the time it now seems to take to get one.

 

 

 

Since I first posted this whips have risen from 2.9 to 3.1. This is becasue most high slayers would rather level their skill instead of waste their life at the Abyssals praying for a drop that never seems to come. Less whips come in, demand still remains, the whip has risen, if just a little. It seems 2.9 to 3.1 is the whips low that it leveled out to. Thats decent enough some would say, but not to me so I don't kill them. I prefer a sure thing from blue dragons instead of praying on each abyssal.

 

 

 

Do you know how frustrating it is to kill abyssal demons for 8 hours without anything better than a rune chain and a load of herbs to show for it? Would you be happy? If you arent maxed out in your skills, sure youll say I trained my haut stats, but I am already maxed and it is wasted time if I don't get a whip.

You sound like your god, honestly why should "you" decide on a price of whips and decide whether they should be worth more. I've had around 69 whip drops and 3m + a day is better than most money making skills with little effort.

 

 

 

Whips are the most expensive weapon in the game by a mile, there are literally thousands I think 3k+ 85 slayers who don't care if they are high or low they still go there and sell them for the market price. You can't expect its price to rise just because you and a few others arn't happy with the price, you think not selling a couple whips will change anything? theres tens of thousands of whips now, many of which are recycled by merchants .
