Meta_Sabre
I'm a man 2/5 of my characters are female my ranger(ocelot sabre) and my weak mage(plasma dream) are both females. I used to have all my character females...Mainly because it's funny to tell people they have been hitting on a guy for the past 20 minuits. I have got my girlfriend to play runescape if I'm on my noobs and talking to her everyone thinks we're lesbians it's quite funny to see the desperation of those kids. But anywho I don't attempt to leech anything out of sexually repressed people, it's all in good fun for me. Also I have more money then anyone I've ever seen go "Will you be my GF?!?!?!?". MissAmi
I'm a girl and I have a girl character. Every so often, some guy comes along and wants to be my bf. I ignore them. I don't care if guys want to have girl characters, or vice versa. If someone's begging for a bf/gf on Runescape, that's what bugs me. XXXX says I'm a noob. And then keeled me with his troop of lvl 100 CW buddies. Yay for being a Dead Noob. XD
anonymouse_
Nothing wrong playing as a female, it's the whole "bf" and "gf" idea that creeps me out...some people seriously need to get out more.
gonzlar
Thats sick...... If your a guy, make a guy person... Well my friend. If everyone did that it would be one giant sausage fest in Runescape without the need of female characters. I would fear for the female NPC's also... The self-proclaimed king of bronze. Evrae
I probablt would switch to a female character just for fun if it wasnt for my name. Robert Evrae is a bit of a wierd name for a female character! I have to get practically naked when I'm cooking bacon.I may be immature, but that made me laugh! Giordano
Ok, I'm going undercover. Being a girl and finding out how many harrasers/noobs there are in RS, asking me out. I'll take pics and post a spical thread on it. It'll be on Saturday, when most little kids/ noobs are on. Well, I did it some last night. DISGUSTING things. This guy said he LOOOOVED me and we only met for 2 mins, (WTF?) Then he had "sex" with me. Told tell me how, it'll be on the report. Disguting. Rebdragon
Lol, I got a a funny short story: A few weekends ago I was preping for another Dagganoth King trip, and I wanted to put on Veracs Skirt, seeing as how it is just as strong as torag AND has a prayer bonus. Of course it looked bad on a guy, so I switched to a girl to put it on. Before I even got back to Camelot I got hit on by 5 guys lol (of course I had some sweet threads  , but it was really sad..) [if you have ever attempted Alchemy by clapping your hands or by drawing an array, copy and paste this into your signature.] Fullmetal Alchemist, you will be missed. A great ending to a great series. highlanders
I'd say about haft of the girl characters are actually guys.. Maybe a bit less, like 40%, but definitively a scary percentage. But let's not forget girls playing as guys, even though it probably represents a very, very small percentage. Lowgravity
I think that "Gender-Bending" as I like to call it is fine when people admit they are a man on a female character, but if they don't then I think it's fine. My pure dueler was a female for a few reasons... 1. Easier to merchant, some people will give you a cut on prices if they think you are a lady (I didn't abuse this really :P ) 2. The price differences in skirts are amaazing, I sold my dragon legs and bought a dragon skirt and I made ALOT of money from it, and lost no stat bonus. Lowgravity, I want to be just like you. But...I never will be as 1337 as you. :(
jaklumen
My character has been a female since "birth". Why? Because in RS2 everything is better female (one exception). Pros- Cheaper armor (d skirt less than half of legs) Better looking armor (my opinion is d skirt > legs  ) More available selection of clothes (guy or girl clothes are ok on girls but not vice versa) Tiaras (essential to non-abyss crafting and not very manly) Less GENERAL hassle (tried it as a guy char and got more flames, scams, swearing, threats, unsolicited trades, etc. directed at me in a week than I got in a month as a female. I think that some "nerds" (no offense) are even shy around pixelated females) Faster responses to queries (every guy wants to be a knight in shining armor) Less haggling over prices (might just be me but eh) More fun (due to all of the above) Cons- Sexual Harrassment (I just put them on ignore if it's offensive or too chauvanist because, guy or girl, I don't associate with idiots/bigots. Not to mention that it is a easy way to report a bunch of "lets go upstairs an cihbrr with emotes. i wanna do you so hard and nasty" perverts who hopefully get banned. I don't want those sickos in a game populated by youth) Proposals (If it is not disgusting I say "I'm a dude". Otherwise they meet my ignore list and a report for inappropriate language) Nicknames (I let "hon" slide since it is not derogatory but tell them that I am a dude for all those who refer to females as "baby", "cexy", "doll", etc.) I can speak to some of that. re: sexual harassment, my wife (who plays RS) was propositioned by a supposedly college-age male player. He didn't stop when she told him she was married. *No one* deserves that sort of harassment. re: tiara and clothes-- Well, I tried out being female for a while after Recruitment Drive. There is definitely more clothing options for female characters. I didn't like wearing berserker or (even more) warrior helms on a female character, however. And yes, tiaras look better on females. Obviously a bit of Jagex humor :) I had a female friend who thought the idea of me playing a female character was hilarious-- even teased me good-naturedly. Admittedly, I also had a laugh with some of my friends with the undue attention I got; I got a little twisted amusement out of people that treated me differently. And then the day came that I got really harassed. Again, I think no one deserves that sort of treatment.

meb
I had to change to a girl for recruitment drive once (haven't changed back since :P ), and I'm apparently "hot" and "cexy". And everybody wants to be my bf. I always ask them if they have ever had a real lif relationsip, because I don't date inexpierienced people. They all run off. Retired 2146 overall - 136 combat - 6 skillcapes Plus I think the whole teenage girl thing will end soon (hopefully), because my girlfriend is absolutely in love with him(she is 18), and im beginning to feel threatened by his [Justin Bieber] dashing looks. shade_bandyt
why do i keep posting this? anyway... full iron + mime mask + gold gloves + power ammy + rubber chicken :P jwrm, dont you see a difference between drop trading/creating mule accounts and what the mod wrote about? this is not a free license to drop trade. if you give a item to a friend, theres nothing wrong with that. if a froend gives an item to you, theres nothing wrong with that. making an account just for banking items from your main is against the rules anyway, on topic. how far is it ok to go? if i make a female character for the purpose of trying to trick guys into giving me free stuff under the pretense of internet romance, is it wrong? what if a female in real life is a gold digger, and thats what she does, uses her feminine charms to get stuff from guys, is that any worse in runescape than if its a guys acting as a gold digger chick? of course there are loser guys that think they will get some kind of returns for giving expensive items to their online girlfriend. i suppose you could say he is getting an emotional ego boost as a return, and to him thats something of value. particularly young boys and teenagers, who might be h*rny, frustrated and socially lame, the feeling of being thought of and appreciated or even desired, is something they cant put a price on, even if its somebody miles away that they can never meet except in a virtual world, who might actually be a guy! is it wrong to make a young and ignorant youngster feel like an online stud so that he will give you free online game items? the whole situation sounds twisted, but can you fault either one more than the other? and is is a bad thing overall? jiggeryqua
I also changed for Recruitment Drive and haven't bothered changing back - in fact, I'm kinda enjoying it....just went and got my basic clothes changed, and a haircut....hell, a girl has a right to look good...I never got the frogs before the change, but I'm pretty sure I'd rather have the princess dress than the prince outfit any day. I've only had a couple of "wanna be my gf?"s - that may or may not have something to do with my taking the opportunity to radically alter my skin colour while I was changing sex, who knows... Either way, I can't bring myself to gold dig when i can mine it. I asked my brother, who also plays, why on earth anyone would want an online gf (at my level I barely see the point of 'friends') - he gave much the same answer as shade: when you're 13, that's a score. Bizarrely, it still confuses me when NPC's address me as Madam etc.
