Yeah, you're really giving us a lot to talk about here... :?

 

 

 

Anyway, to add something to a topic that's probably a stillborn anyway, I used lyrics from Hallowed Be Thy Name for the cover page of my profile paper (basically a two year research that you have to do in order to graduate high school, besides the usual exams). The paper deals with burial rituals and the way they reflect different perceptions of the afterlife.

One thing I don't get though are the people who say, "Iron Maiden died when Di'Anno left!!!1" I mean, seriously... the guy recorded two albums with the band, whoopdedoo. [bleep]inson has been with the band for 16 albums (including the three or so live albums and two "best of" albums.) However, I really like the Di'Anno-era songs (Prowler, Iron Maiden, Phantom Of The Opera, Murders In The Rue Morgue, Running Free etc. etc.), and his voice is great. With that said, I prefer [bleep]inson's. :P

Though i do like some of Di'Anno's work with Maiden. [bleep]inson was more part of getting Iron Maiden as poplular as they are. [bleep]inson is one of the best vocalists out there.

 

 

 

Maiden is in my top 5 favorite bands.

Iron maiden is a lot better then most bands....but it cannot beat the who! The who rocks!

Didn't realy know iron maiden was "mainstream garbage". Ok yeah, I guess they are mainstream, much more than a lot of bands I listen to, but they aren't as mainstream as bands such as AC/DC. Plus, I think they are well good enough :) .

Isn't posting messages that contribute nothing to the actual thread except provoke negative reactions from other posters pretty much the definition of trolling? :?

I'm a big-time fan (well, I don't wear all that Maiden-clothing all the time, sometimes of course) and a collector. Got around 400 Iron Maiden vinyls, CDs, videos, DVDs etc. sitting in my collection. Latest addition being the rare Greek Maidenmania 80-87 box set. This gem cost me 380 euros :?

 

 

 

I also like to play Iron Maiden songs on my guitar. I have played bits of each IM song, just can't remember most anymore. Now I can play maybe 15 songs with solos by heart, that's because I haven't played much guitar lately. A year ago I could play about 35 songs.

Nowadays I'm perhaps a bit bored of Maiden, but love for the band hasn't died. I still collect intensively and play Maiden with guitar, but my music taste has developed into a bit... more compex way. Bands I now like to play and listen to the most are perhaps the Swedish Opeth and the amazing guitar hero Steve Vai.

Finaly some1 that like them :D
