hungryblader
Okay, here's another topic. I had a runescape gf (just in the game) and she broke up with me saying, "It's dumb to have an online bf." I guess she's kinda right. What does everyone else think? "Dost hath not giveth thy name 'noob' to thy brethren... ...Or thou art must considereth thyself a noob as well." ghost20123
Sorry mate but i think the idea of an "in game" gf/bf is completely pathetic. In fact most "girls looking for boyfriends" are actually guys looking for free stuff! <----- First 99 - 20/02/10, also Vhellcats Birthday!! Stephen9o3
I here also agree its pathetic. very pathetic. Playing rs being 15 is bad enough but having gf/bf is taking it too far Combat FTL
HaMMerTjE
never underestimate the power of the internet. It IS possible to get a gf on the internet, everywhere there is a chat. you learn to know people, and even love them. This won't happen if you talk once in a month, this won't happen if you say, i want a gf!... but it could happen.. Retired 2146 overall - 136 combat - 6 skillcapes Plus I think the whole teenage girl thing will end soon (hopefully), because my girlfriend is absolutely in love with him(she is 18), and im beginning to feel threatened by his [Justin Bieber] dashing looks. Lowgravity
It's pointless, stupid, nerdy, and plus the "girl" could be a guy. Exactly, having a gf/bf on the internet should only ever be acceptable when the people can communicate over webcam+microphone so you know who you are really dealing with! SenorTamale
1 word ... 2 actually.... makeover mage or is that 3 words? make-over mage... i think it'd be two unless you're strange and think hyphens don't count. but seriously though, if you had a real-life gf and you're in the same house, wouldn't you want to do more... engaging activities? anyways, unless you need some psychological fix, having a bf/gf that you only know through the internet, the whole purpose of the thing is lost.. you might as well call them a close friend you (possibly) give your items to for no logical reason. tefda
The purpose of having an online girlfriend is somewhat odd but as HaMMerTjE said it is possible as you can grow to have interest in this other persons life. Surely love can be stimulated over the internet through online chats, because most real relationships are started through conversations of a common link. What is more common between a man and a woman who are playing a game than the game they are playing. So I suppose Runescape is a decent place to find a woman that would have similar interests with you and more than likely around your age. Keep in mind that this is still a game in which your gender can be changed at the drop of a hat. Some caution must be exerted because of the internet predators that exist out there. A more spiritual connection must be made than simply lambasting "Rich d00d wanting gf!" all across the air waves. With the two girlfriends that I've had (In reality) I've found it better that they are away from me while I'm doing something in which I need to focus. When I had had a girlfriend I would have to a somewhat different person, I would have to be "On" as most would say. While Runescape I would want to focus and be "off" and not have to be putting on airs and discussing a relationship or things that aren't related to Runescape. So having a girlfriend online, even if it were a deeper connection than a quick pick up, would be bothersome as she would interfer with what relaxation time I would have as I would need to devote my time to her. Never have a relationship (even if friendly) with someone who openly changes their identity (gender) just to accquire free stuff or "mess" with people (I mean that they want to mess around with the victims head). They are simply there to toy with other peoples emotions. Only commit to someone if you know that they are someone you would want (not are willing to but you actually desire this) to spend time with and have an actual relationship. So however "Pa-the-tic" this relationship is really is determined by the means of how she became your girlfriend. If you had been training together for some time and have a deep personal conversation every day (or every other day) than that is an alright relationship and we should respect that. If you picked her up in the middle of Varrock by one of you two saying that you wanted a "Bf" or "Gf" than it's far less likely that people will respect it and it's more likely that that relationship will never turn out to be anything good. :)
