All of my friends bag me out EVERY DAY at school for playing RS. They tell me to get a life. Problem is, every weekend for the whole of Friday night, Saturday and Sunday they play Guild Wars/WoW. They still think RS is 2d, and when I try to explain it's 3d they tell me I'm deluded, only with more swearing. Sometimes I wonder why they're still my friends.

my best friend hates runescape lol. i made her start an account so she could see what it was like and although she got into it shes gone back to hating it as she doesnt have the time to play. the rest of my friends who i spend time with are all runescapers so it doesnt bother me too much. a lot of the time people dont like it due to the graphics...its no match for guildwars or some of the other online games ive seen but i think thats one of its good points...its not like those kind of games. its more about hard work than anything.

A lot of my friends think Runescape is stupid and can't imagine that I like to play that game that is full of 11 year olds. :)

 

Oh well, I can't be bothered, I can imagine that they don't like it. The game doesn't look attractive with all those new games with beautiful graphics. I just love the RPG genre.

Definitely. One of older borther's friends, who is a good friend of mine as well, is always rippin on RuneScape. He always tells me to "get a real MMO, like World of Warcraft". I probably would play that game, but I'm not gonna pay 15 bucks a month for it. Sure, RuneScape's graphics, combat, and some other things may be sub-par, but it's got replay value. 8)

 

 

 

And as for friends who play:

 

1. Younger cousin who told me about it a couple years ago (he started playing when he was like 8 :shock: )

 

2. Friend who I got into RuneScape who got to level 40 in like 5 days, but then she stopped playing :evil:

 

3. Some people from a school near mine who I don't really know

 

4. One of my better friends who I just found out plays (he got hacked at level 89.... I could have mooched for teh moneys :cry: )

Most of my real life friends don't even know I play.

I only have one rl mate who knows i play runescape. Everyone else isn't that interested in computers.

im going to injure the next person who dares compare WoW to RS, they are two highly different games.

 

 

 

WoW got famous because it had a large clientel beforehand.

No, seriously now, my two best mates love Rs, ones a member, and the other plays when she can... I dont bother with people who just want to try and tell me it sad, lame .... etc... i love it, why should it bother them?

My boyfriend was deterred from Runescape at first because of the graphics, but then I got him to play.

Comparing RS & WOW is like comparing a "toy car" with a "Ferrari"

 

 

 

played runescape since day one, quit for some time when rs2 (aka easyScape2) came out moved on to WoW now i have 5 max lvled 60 chars alwaysed missed rs during thi WoW time and now play both games at once.

 

 

 

All in all imo you cant compare WOW to Rs wow will always win on everypoint .

 

 

 

YES WoW cost about 5 times more to play then p2p but you get 50 times more experience for your cash then Rs. so its vgood investment.

 

 

 

this is speaking with ~3 years Runescape experience

 

and 2+ years World of Warcraft experience

 

 

 

however even if Runescape losses on every possible point you can come up with between these 2 games rs will always have that little sparkle that hooked you from the beginning:)

ok guys i am one of those friends that wasa hater of rs.

 

i hated it becasue that was all my friends talked about, but then i made an account and they all called me noob. but i still kepp playing and now i am almost as good as some of my friends that have played since runescape 1. and i am just entering my 6th month.

 

And now i am sooooooo happy i started playing rs cause it is the best game nomatter what the graphics are like.

Some of my friends hate runescape, others just don't like it (not hate it), and some of them don't know about the existance of such a game. I only have 1 friend who used to play runescape, but since he became addicted to hip hop music, he didn't play anymore.
