I'm a lvl 107 (currently). This would make me a selfish lvl100+.

 

 

 

In a way all lvl100+ are selfish because it takes some serious effort to get above lvl100. This often needs a 'concentrated leveling effort'. Naturally this is a selfish act aimed at gaining something for yourself; levels.

 

 

 

But that doesn't mean I do not answer lower levels when they ask me something. I mostly do. But sometimes I am chatting with a good friend and that takes all my concentration. I skip the public chat on those occasions. But this kind of behaviour is not limited to lvl100+s.

 

 

 

In fact, I will talk to both lower and higher levels when training myself. Sometimes the lvl120+ does not talk back. I take no offense with that. It's his good right. Usually the lower levels ALWAYS talk back. I don't know why. Is it more attractive to talk to higher levels than lower levels? For me it personally doesn't matter much, but I guess a higher level is more impressive to have a friend for some. I have some friends who tell there other friends that they have a friend which has twice as high level as themselves. That is apparently impressive. I don't think so myself. I was a lower level myself. It's about enjoying the game.

If you are being mugged and robbed constantly, you are in a bad neighborhood. The premise of your argument is that something was so bad they had to change the way they play just to avoid it, and that's why they have their chat set the way they do.

My final stance is that there's reasons why people can put filters on, and its wrong to JUDGE them for it. Who gives a care if they play the way they play? If they enjoy it and it doesn't infringe on other people's enjoyment of the game, then let them.

 

 

 

The spirit of the game argument has always been ridiculous. Its ambiguous and vague, and plenty of people get jacked in other games because they didn't follow "the spirit of the game".

 

 

 

Personally, I'm starved for people to hang out with in the game. I only enjoy it if I can have fun and intelligent chats with people, or better yet, do stuff together (like quests or kq teaming or whatever).

 

 

 

I think that we can put this whole debate to rest. You said that people who think "everyone else isn't worth a mote of my time" is a jerk and I'll agree with that. Lets just call it done.

hey! i'm not lvl 100 yet, but they put their name thingies on hide because there's all these people, including in P2P, going like "Can i have free rune? ur rich! u can give me free rune!!" and u like argue with them until they annoy you back to level 3 :evil:

I like doing this just to see a kid flip out and see ****"s everywhere just cause i wont say "no"

And then there's the people like me who just wish to focus on the task at hand... I have public on friends/off when doing something I'd like to concentrate on, for example RuneCrafting. I for one would rather not have people asking me questions on my way to/in the abyss, and, though it happens rarely, it does happen. I don't think everyone is below me, but I'm not a fan of all the 'noob' calling, and, even though I generally don't talk to anyone, public IS on when I'm not concentrating on anything in particular.

 

 

 

Both sides of the arguement have taken the extreme views for their end. Lime has stuck by his point that anyone who thinks everyone is below them is a jerk, Chris has stuck to his point of being the exact opposite of Lime. The middle ground is simply that some people like privacy, want to do what they're doing. There is no right way to play an MMORPG, even if it means Massive Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game, people don't have to interact. I gain most everything I need on my own, because I dislike the concept of buying levels. I think no less of people who DO buy levels, I just want my levels to be my own product. I know I'm going way off my original topic here, but I'm just trying to say that both of you are right, you shouldn't think everyone is below you, but you don't have to interact if you don't want to. I'll stop now...

Hmm, I think high level players are the same (Im lvl 93 atm), i met this Level-109 yesterday, I asked any who had 75+ herb (had 20 of a unid, wanted to know what it was) and she said that she did, so we traded and she said she could make me the pots that go with that herb.
