I guess it's just something most boys do at some point between the ages 6-15, probably more out of curiosity than anything. I've done it a few times, but mostly just stuff like setting fire to some paper in the bushes.

Still, I managed to get a scar on my leg from it once. I had found a deodorant can, and I was setting the spray on fire a few times when the flame reminded me of a piece of fireworks that had a small burst of coloured flame jetting out of one side to make it spin around on the ground (don't know the English name for it). I put a rubber band around the can to produce a steady stream and then lit it and threw it on the ground. It spun for about half a minute when it suddenly sputtered, and before I realized what was happening it exploded, with me about two meters away from it. A piece of shrapnel caught me in the leg, tearing a pretty deep but luckily thin gash. It was pretty clean, so I managed to convince my mum that I got the wound while trying to climb over a fence that had a nail sticking out of it.

I went on a camping trip once in a dry lake bed. Some other kids and I were bored so we decided to light something on fire. Well, one kid had a big, gas can. Probably 4 ft. by 5 ft. Well, we took it really far out into the lake bed and stuck sticks in some holes and led them up to the can. We lit the sticks and hopped on our dirt bikes and our quads and raced crazily back to camp befoe it blew up. Took like 10 min. before it exploded! It was like a missle hit the ground or something. It was so huge and so powerful the camp started to shake. Everyone was pe-od and were trying to find out who did it, but they never found us :D

I guess it's pretty true boys love fire and explosives -.-

Second time. Mostly had to do with a fire and a firework  , but this one time this guy got really durnk (I mean really drunk) and his dad spoiles him( even though he's in his late 30's). Well, his dad let him take up his huge camper and his 4 quads and 2 buggies camping one time. Well, there was a fire in-front of his camper. We were messing around with fireworks when this guy pulled out an enormous one. He said it made white-hot fire, which could melt pretty much everything and was really dangerous. He set it by the fire and the drunk guy decided to push it closer -.- Well, later he went to bed and so did everyone else. That morning people woke up and went over to the fire pit to make another one. They looked at a marvelous site :P The firework went of (doesn't make sound, I guess) and it was so hot it melted the guy's quads (Which were like plastic puddles, only the front, luckily not the tank) and so were his buggies. Now this guys trailer was really shiny and I guess all the paint melted off of it, lol

One time, I sprayed deodorant in the shape of a "R" on a table and set fire to it. That was pretty. :D

I waste time making elaborate burn paths all for a 2 minute show :P

The police don't seem to like me doing it much though. Had a few close calls lately :(

Hmm far too many stories to tell. I am an avid fire-twirler proficient in staff (single, double, learning contact)/poi/devil sticks and some other weird things i mess around with (fire hacky sack, diabolo, juggling)

Been fairly lucky though and never managed to really do any damage to myself apart from losing some hairs and burning some shirts, nothing major. Bit of a pyro but release it in a sensible manner with like minded people.

Edit: Mods, if there is a problem with this photo feel free to remove it but there are no visible faces so i cant see why it would be a problem. Anyway, this is a pic taken by my mate a couple of weeks ago at a regular firetwirling event we have around here.

Might try and upload a better pic when i get home tomorrow, only have access to what i have uploaded in other places atm

Edit again: Darkrick, you say you have had problems with the police recently? What caused that? We meet regulary on the west side and police often drive by on their patrols and just wave as they go past. Not to mention the lessons people hold at kangaroo point. Must be strict wherever you are

I used to light up fires with some flamable cans, very flamable stuff (used to finish paintings)

when I made a lill fire, I sprayed it onto the fire, with a big fireball as result.

I started doing that more and more, and at the end the fire went to the spray itself, and it allmost exploded i found out later... never done that again

Once, i got 3 boxes of matches, and me and a friend scraped the stuff off the ends of every single match (like 180 or so matches) and wrote our names, and lit it.

Was really cool, but only lasted 20 seconds or so.

Also, i was camping one time, and we had to light a fire, but i could only get paper to light, so i poured oil on it, and that got it going. But it set a branch alight (guess i squirted the oil on it too) but it went out fairly quickly.

lol i went to my friends house a couple of months ago, he said we are going to make a fire, so i was terrified thinking he was going to burn a whole building down, but instead it was a plantpot filled with paper that he wanted to set alight (he was 13 and couldn't use a lighter)

I once lit a huge box of shreaded paper with a minibuster inside. I had to do it on a cloudy day because we live next to an apartment complex so they may have seen the smoke. When I went to go retreve the buster some wires had been in the box so I got a nice scar, I would still do it again just it has not been cloudy enough to do it safly :D . Also I has set fire to some fireant nests but they are still there so I need to kill em, I am thinking about using anouth box of paper to remove them just I need to dig a small hole without getting swarmed.

i was trying to light a fire in my fireplace and i got tons of smoke in the house i started feeling light headed

I live close to the Mississippi River, and the local kids like to go out on the shore of the river and have parties at night, involving drinking, drugs, and bonfires.

The only time I ever went to one, they started a huge bonfire in a wheelbarrow. They just piled wood into it, soaked it with gas, and set it on fire. When it came time for everyone to go home, and to put the fire out, they just pushed the wheelbarrow with the wood still on fire, into the Mississippi River. It was pretty awesome, as everything just all of a sudden went completely dark and silent.

When I was a little kid, my friends and I (cubscouts) would go to summer camp. Every night we'd make a fire and throw in all these empty plastic soda bottles stuffed with just about anything we could find: dead glowsticks, a little bit of bugspray, etc). Made a pretty weird effect when it burned... we were crazy little kids back then

You know those tanks you get on 4th of July? Well, me and my friend Brad were messin around with them one day. I had some old bailing twine and wrapped 10 of them together, then poured some gasoline on to an end of the twine and tied the other end to all the fuses. We are only 12 and don't know any better. We lit them and ran around in front of them. My shirt caught on fire and literally burnt half of it away. We were laughing so har we cried. We also had some of those whistlin bottle rockets and were messin with them too :P . We started throwin them at each other and he nailed me right on my left side of my stomach. It hurt like hell. It left a big scar which I still have today. Lol.

I have juggled lit torches before without hurting myself or anyone else. As soon as the weather improves I will again. :D

I was going to post pics of myself juggling fire, but Sepiroth's pic pretty much trumps anything I could come up with. :( I haven't tried juggling at night yet.

Other than that, my bro and I once busted open a model rocket engine, put the fuel in a piece of tissue, made a little town out of paper, then lit the whole thing off. We waited for a minute and a half and nothing happened, until really suddenly everything was gone except some ash on the asphalt. Pretty cool 8-)
