I spent a quarter of my childhood playing with Legos. Got a bunch of them all mixed up and would just make the craziest stuff, have a friend over and we'd just build all day long then clean them up. Then when I was like 10 I got the Lego Mindstorm set, which was a crude robot for legos but we built cars out of them and saw how fast we could make them go and just do tons of cool stuff. Now... Lego pieces by the thousands are sitting there untouched for six years.

I loved playing with lego as well, especially with the simple shaped legos, using imagination isn't part of it anymore...

Oh for the people who love Monty Python (The Quest of the Holy Grail) and lego; lego knights of Camelot

I remember when I was like 7 my dog swallowed a red 1x2 peice and I shoved my arm down his throut and took it out. O.o Thank god he was a nice dog and didn't bite my arm off... but he was coughing for a while afterwards.

A great deal of time (and money) was spent playing with Lego as a child. Unfortunately, the new lego is horrible compared to the late 80s and 90s stuff.

I got bored - so I found some of my favourite models:

Castle and pirates are easily the best. I also liked the old town stuff and one of the trains. And i can't forget space, especially "Ice Planet -2002"

Direct linking isn't allowed so:

Wild West- 6769

Trains - 4559 , 4554

Space - 6929, 6879 (Ice Planet)

Pirates - 6248, 6271, 6280

Town - 6350, 6284

Castle - 6054, 6086, 6090, 6056

Just go to that section on the website, and then search for the number.

I loved the old, simple bricks. I had dozens of platforms filled with buildings and such. I've really stopped playing with them now, but on occasion I'll feel like building something. My brother has two platforms hooked together with like 3 foot towers build and interconnected on each. He's worked on it for over two years.

I really wouldn't call it an era. It was more of a definitive time period during which dinstinctive characteristics were expressed in similar ways.

I love the old ones but the new ones are just crap. They're not the legos I remember. I liked the little squarish guys or even a homemade square robot. Now they're trying to make them too realistic. I used to have to use my imagination a ton but not as much anymore..

Btw I loved my boating vacations in the desert and ski trips to the moon ::' :-$

I love LEGOS. It used to exercise my imagination. I used to come up with all kinds of whacky but amazing stuff. The legos today are to specific and you cant make much with them except what the picture is on the box. I also outgrew them. I discovered the computer \' . No jk.
