Hey.

Well, I think we've all seen the hints about POH's we've had from RuneScape over the past couple of days, and I'm wondering is any one actully cutting Teak & Mahogony trees?

Do you think we should be?

It's debatable, it really depends on wether you think it'll be a waste of time or not. People can argue one way or another, but nobody really knows.

If you ask me, I'd like to know what grade of wood teak and mahoganny is from somebody who knows stuff about it. If its a luxury wood, then hey there is no harm in cutting downa few thousand. Not to mention on the rs site it does say the wood is rare.

teak and mahoganny are both luxury woods, used for veneers and very expensive furniture. The trees are increasingly hard to find, and deforestation of them requires the destruction of about 7 surrounding trees to acces it. They are mostly found within dense rain forest, and therefore are hard and expensive to extract. The trees are worth so much that illegal "tree poachers" cut them down without a warrant, and in an unconservatory way. They also look pretty when carved into a arse rest.

Anyone know where I can find Teak & Mahogony trees?

Thanks

Either as a reward from the Kingdom management from the Miscellania/Etceteria area, or from the enclosure by the Tai Bwo Wannai village, which you need about 100 trading sticks to get into it each time.

Where do I get trading stick from? :-/

And, as the reward from the new quest, can I actully cut them my self or do I have to put money into it and wait for the workers to cut them?

Tai Bwo Wannai Minigame or a quite common drop from Jogres.

You have to put money into it to recieve them.

I cut a couple k mohogany and teaks a few months ago, then banked em for a bout a month. After a while, they were taking up bank space and I realized they were untradable, so I burned them for firemaking xp (very high for the level and speed it takes to cut).

i have cut some earlier, but stopped because the trees are just too far from bank. I will cut more once more trees will be added in khazard jungle (they promised that 2 months ago )

Talk to... I forgot his name, but it's an old guy near the entrence to the village, I belive his name is close to Gazebo. Talk to him and mail your logs to your bank for, I think, 10 sticks a log, or less.

They wont only use Teak and Mahogony. You will probly be able to use the other kinds of logs in Runescape. And perhaps the Teak and Mahogony will be the high trees for the skill? Thats what I think because those trees are so good in real life woodwork.

I just want the skill to come out so I can have a higher total lvl and have something else to do :?

jsut to be clear....there is no way that jagex will make a level 50 wood the top wood in the skill...its jut too east to obtain..there will no doubt be other woods...ceder, redwood, pine, fir...im guessing one of those will be added if not several...mahogany may be expensive but its hardly a staple of construction and carpentry....and wouldnt it be much cooler if you had to build your house?...ie obtain levels to build diferent parts? imho thats much cooler than everyone just getting a house to start with

i'm thinking jagex would add more teak and mahagony trees when carpentry comes out, otherwise there would be like 50 people per server at that karamja place  kinda how they did for farming, before the only way to get rakes/watering cans was to pickpocket them from farmers and were sold 5-10k each since people thought that was the only way to get em and were pretty rare to find, then when farming came out they were 1-2gp each at the stores lol

although i would suggest chopping some of da special trees now since the more logs you have probably the better, just my prediction

I myself awile ago (around the Dec) started cutting mohagani trees because I thought Carpentry (construction) was going to come out in the begining of 2006, so I have a bunch in my bank, but I did the new quest and have some work going to mohagani trees

70+ all skills. 17/24 skills 75+
