password = calculator

use the calculator you noob!

what you say?

I said use the calculator.

hahah I know your pass is calculator now!

How stupid do you have to be to fall for that scam. I think it would actually be a good experience for the person scammed, perhaps they will learn some common sense from the experience.

There are a few simple rules to not getting scammed and hacked.

1) Do not tell your password to anyone, and that means anyone, even your 'best friend'. For all you know their computer could have a virus which will give someone your password. It is just not worth the risk.

2) Get some anti virus software.

3) Never give somebody a game item without them giving you something of equal value in return.

I do not see how you can go far wrong with those simple rules.

I would also add that it is not Jagexs' responsibility to look after your password in situations like this. Why should they care about protecting your password if you don't care enough to do it yourself.

While not loving the hostile way in which this was stated, I'd have to agree with the content.

I agree as well. Besides, if Jagex eventually DID block your password when you said it in the game. That would only bring around the whole, "Hey, if you type your password backwards Jagex blocks it out!" -.- There's no way around scammers.

cpet the asterix is used to correct words in the game so maybe if ppl got smart and didnt type there pass they that would take care of the problem

That wouldn't stop them from saying it. They would just then say "Look jagex blocks your pass see [insert bad word like female dog]" Then it would look like it blocked the pass, they would just change the astriks into a bad word so the system wouldn't block it out.

...if jagex actually blocked your password, and lets say it was something like manbearpig2222...then you'd be sitting their and someone would be like have you ever seen that south park with manbearpig?...then let's say you dont know jagex blocks your pass...so you'd be like o yeah, manbearpig episode kicks [wagon] and it would appear with the asterisct...and the person would know your password...

that could also be ised as a trick

eg: a player with santa came back after 4 years (4 years and 2 months to be exact) and you say:

hey wanna know a secret dup cheat?

yeah ok

ok, place your santa on that table

ok

now type qqhwekeke (random letters) then hold "Alt" then press F4

ok

logs out

haha sucker

Popoto.~<3

Place your santa hat on the table?

Logins again immediately, and takes santa hat back...

it takes a minute for the thing to appear to other people anyways...

I don't see how that would actually work on anyone btw :-s

Shouldn't this be in RuneScape Bugs and Suggestions?

tankmz6.jpg
they could actually just censor it. Then there would be no problem

Exactly what everyone has thought of, and proposed...Unfortunately Jagex is so unnattentative of players nowadays that you could distract them with a shiny object.

P.S: Wrong forum dude.

POG3.jpg

Pretty much what Dragon said.

Thread terminated.

I guess that means I'm the thread Terminator?

No Tip.Iters were harmed in the making of this post.

i have an even better idea, its called common sense, read the guide on scamming on the rs home page and dont fall for them, problem solved

clansig7.gif

I think that swear words should be censored as a small version of the rs logo that can't be typed by scammers :|

Currently:Fletching and preparing for my final quest before cape ^^

What if the whole line was blocked if the words "Jagex", "blocks", or "pass" is used in that line.

that would be ANNOYING.

Ex. "How'd you do on your history exam" "I ****ed it with a 90"

mmkay.

not sure if it's been mentioned yet, but this is one of the main reasons why jagex added the stronghold of security. The security stands for security, as in keeping your account sercure
