I think it would actually be a good experience for the person scammed, perhaps they will learn some common sense from the experience. There are a few simple rules to not getting scammed and hacked. 1) Do not tell your password to anyone, and that means anyone, even your 'best friend'. For all you know their computer could have a virus which will give someone your password. It is just not worth the risk. 2) Get some anti virus software. 3) Never give somebody a game item without them giving you something of equal value in return. I do not see how you can go far wrong with those simple rules.
June 8, 200620 yr I would also add that it is not Jagexs' responsibility to look after your password in situations like this. Why should they care about protecting your password if you don't care enough to do it yourself.

Besides, if Jagex eventually DID block your password when you said it in the game. That would only bring around the whole, "Hey, if you type your password backwards Jagex blocks it out!" -.- There's no way around scammers.

February 14, 200719 yr That wouldn't stop them from saying it. They would just then say "Look jagex blocks your pass see [insert bad word like female dog]" Then it would look like it blocked the pass, they would just change the astriks into a bad word so the system wouldn't block it out.
February 14, 200719 yr ...if jagex actually blocked your password, and lets say it was something like manbearpig2222...then you'd be sitting their and someone would be like have you ever seen that south park with manbearpig?...then let's say you dont know jagex blocks your pass...so you'd be like o yeah, manbearpig episode kicks [wagon] and it would appear with the asterisct...and the person would know your password...

February 14, 200719 yr I think that swear words should be censored as a small version of the rs logo that can't be typed by scammers :| Currently:Fletching and preparing for my final quest before cape ^^
February 14, 200719 yr What if the whole line was blocked if the words "Jagex", "blocks", or "pass" is used in that line. that would be ANNOYING. Ex. "How'd you do on your history exam" "I ****ed it with a 90" mmkay.
February 14, 200719 yr not sure if it's been mentioned yet, but this is one of the main reasons why jagex added the stronghold of security. The security stands for security, as in keeping your account sercure LUIGI IS AWESOME
