He just lived in the moment and was sorry after he realized his actions had consequences. The people that are the legends and real heros are the ones who saw the bug and reported it or logged out and didn't attack anyone. THOSE are the real good people of rs. Because they didn't cause so much damage by "living in the moment" or getting thier rush. I do hope durial gets ip banned so that he can't even be allowed on rs anymore. His unthoughtfulness and just plain stupidity and especially what he did should not go unpunished. And most importantly it should NOT be worshiped. I don't believe that I am one, but I would be tempted to do it. Relating this incident to that of one in real life is a very narrow minded thing to say. "Oh, his rush, his rush" so what? Someone gets their jollies by pking. Pking because it was just that, player killing. Only thing is he had the upperhand, being invincible and all... Thinking that Durial (because he abused a bug) is some suicidal adrenaline junkie is very funny to think about, if only you were able to validly judge someone like that. Usually adrenaline junkies don't play computer games, they go jump off buildings, towers, cliffs, jump out of planes, bike down a shear cliff (Whistler is the place to go :P ) or, as you said go racing (many others I left out, make some up :) .) Everyone who used that bug was banned. There is no reason at all why this guy should be let go. He has no sense of responsibility or compassion for those he killed. Say what you will, but rs takes a lot of time and losing a big chunk of your time because some punk kid thinks it's fun is wrong. He deserves to be banned permanently. I'm not saying I would enjoy rampaging people, but I wouldn't. Why? Because: 1) They're ALL defenseless, they can't fight back 2) It's breaking a major rule. 3) Refer to #1. As I already had posted, it's against the warrior code to fight defenseless people. And in the end he's "Sorry" but he mainly complains about losing his green phat! He just goes on a rampage and takes like atleast 200mill in an hour! He's not a legend, he may be famous for what he did, but the bad kind of famous. A legend is someone who does good, not bad. He didn't use his sense and just let it go, I have friends who've gotten the same glitch, but did they go on a rampage and slaughter innocent runescapers? NO! He deserves permanent ban. I don't care how nice he is. People pay for this game (though it's not alot) and then they lose alot of hard worked stuff! (I know some of course hadn't gotten it with hard work, but some did). Personally, what Jut did was good for the time being because it did cause a large price drop in partyhat prices and introduced many more partyhats into (onto...) the hands (heads...) of runescape players. The edgeville lurers are the people that should be getting the worse rap seeing as how they have scammed people out of ALOT more and actually got away with it. Me, I would have much rather been killed in an incident like this than get scammed by some noob in a trade with quick fingers (100m=10,000 when they flick their magic fingers on...) Not attack innocent people who knew nothing of this bug until it was too late. And for "the rat", you need a head check. Agreeing and siding with this little 16 year old child makes you no better then he is. So he said he would give the items back if he could....Lies. If you pk someone in the wild, do you give their stuff back? No you dont. To all you people who have lost their valuables to an ignorant little boy like Durial321, I am so sorry for you. And to have Durial practically laughing in your face must make it worse. I've seen the video and was in utter shock. He knew what he was doing and even said thanks for the ban. Ban him, lock him, throw away the key, never let him play again. People like that give runescape a bad name. This post is just my opinion. Oh and one more thing, to the people who said others would of done the same thing if in his shoes, your wrong. THere is no way to argue that durial should not be banned. he broke rules, and should be punished. simple as that. Although extremely out of scale, there is no way lt. Calley could have justified the mass murder in My Lai, where nearly a thousand unarmed civilians were executed. justice, even on a game, has to be done. On the topic of games... i have to disagree with the argument about runescape being only a "game". a few paragraphs up i explained character. there is no way to justify acting completely differently with power in one's hands and in normal life (or, this interview). He has no character, and that is the basis of many people's hatred. Are those people justified in hating durial? yes, as he is the basis of all that a lot of people (at least, on these forums) hate. Yes, death may be a little extreme, but it expresses their opinions BTW, i have to admit this was one of the worst interviews, ever. the interviewer tried too hard to make the interview interesting, as if the interview would be remembered forever. i honestly started gagging (i was eating doritos while i was reading xD) as i went through, as both the interviewer and interviewed were flagrantly pompous disclaimer - i skimmed almost all of the posts up to this point, so yes, i do know what most are arguing. if youre gonna flame me, have some backbone to your argument. Instead of cussing him out I congradulated him because I'm rarely one to get scamed. Im sure the guy who lost a yellow might feel like they wasted 100+ hours of their life, the time it took to get it. But can you honestly say that all those hours were worth it? All that time spent on a computer, all for a single item that does nothing besides giving some minor recognition to some no-name. Trust me, i've been there and back, and in the end it's just not worth it. Play the game for fun people, it's not a job. Hey, if you really do enjoy making money, great! Then you'll have no problem making it all back because you enjoy it so much. If you want recognition, do something great. P-hats don't gain you nearly as much recognition as being the first to a 99 stat or a feared pker. If you want attention and fame, set the standard by doing something new that you'll be remembered for. Go out a create an awsome pk video that wows the crowds, or be part of the race to 99 in a new skill. Hey, I had never heard of The Valor before construction. Next thing you know everyone in RS knows his name because he was one of the top constructionists the first day. Who'll be remembered more? So don't go saying it's something that "although you did what any person in your shoes would have". He unfairly ruined many people's work and time. It's not something to be happy or proud of.
