June 6, 200620 yr bye. It happens:-D. May I have your stuff please? +1 how bout 50/50 I SURVIVED THE 111 BUG If a turtle doesnt have a shell, is it naked or homeless ?
June 6, 200620 yr I agree with everyone. I spent months in getting my dragon platelegs and verac's helmet. If they would reset and have the same updates they did before, I'd have to wait in about 5 years until the barrows are released again. That wouldn't be nice.
June 6, 200620 yr if jagex doesnt have a reset if proves they care nothing for there players and only money. considering the fact that to get a partyhat you need to be rich really rich, and most people with then are players from the very beginning of runescape. if they dont reset im quitting this game for good. i did not even lose anything. i would quit even if all it ment was they lost 5 dollars a month from me. i just cant play a game for people that care so little for players. the messed up, if they cant own up to that, then they dont deserve my bizness dotn be so god damn selfish theres people that are gaining great accomplishments, last night somone could have gotten 99 str , they reset uh oh they have to gain that exp again.. as they said if they reset it or roll back or whatever they would effect more people then the bug its self
June 6, 200620 yr wow well if im not quitting because of the bug im quitting because this has got to be the worst communitty ive ever been apart of.. Heres something that might make sense for you. Im gonna interpret this into rs language so you might understand ok? You: "LOllLlLL Lek 50 ppl lost stuff mirite! like gib t3r stub bak plx roll bak plx why no roll bak? u dun currrr!!!" Me: "LIEK nly 50 pl dud LLLLlalalllol ! ter lek 200,000 ppl who wud luz xp n itam dud loooolll!!!! why roll bak for 50 nub loollll! quit !! more server space for me loLOLOL!!!" Now for the people who want grammar, here it is. I believe that only 50 people have been inflicted with this damage. Lets try not to amplify this case saying over 2,000 people got killed because the Durial himself said he ran this over a period of 1 hour. Therefore, I do not see the possibility of more than 100 people ever being killed. Server statistics say about 200k or atleast more than 150,000+++ players played Runescape during the time. Why would Jagex waste their time to rollback to satisfy few players(mind you I am not saying they are not important, they are) and destroy about 150,000++ people's xp gain or item gain.
June 6, 200620 yr Rollback would be rough... I would lose 200k Construction XP Abby head Whip But I do feel for all the people who lost rares and such.. I wouldn't quit or anything just would rough on the people that were not effected by this bug @ - Come Join SoDB in Some GWD and other Slaying! - @
June 6, 200620 yr Soupnatizzle, you are a narcissistic young man. You do not realize that there are consequences for every action made. I am certain that Jagex has weighed the pros and cons of a rollback and they realize what could occur in either situation. You do not understand simple causal politics This does not mean that you shouldn't have the opportunity to rant if you would like, but please take it out of general P2P. It clutters the board. Better alternative: find yourself a sock puppet and go feed the ducks. It really will ease your tension. Range level - 97 (11,415,381 xp)Range goal - 99 (13,034,431 xp) 87.58% of the way there
June 6, 200620 yr They didn't even have a roll-back when the famous dupe happened - this is nothing compared to that even. ^^ The value of my bank at its height. Estimated value at the peak of the rares market: 250 billion+.Most likely the largest trade in RuneScape ever. Estimated value at the peak of the rares market: 70 billion+.
June 6, 200620 yr If they rollback it will affect thousands of players instead of like 100. It's bad for the players who lost stuff but no roll back fight caves defeated 3/10/06 at 96 combat 77 range99+ farming----99+herblore----99 range----99 thieving213th to 99 herblore, June 29, 2007
June 6, 200620 yr first of all who desided that they can only reset to the last time they updated.. Modern technology? and even if that was the case which it is not, the last update was the day of the insident.. Behind the Scenes is not an update, nor is adding servers. The last update to the GAME CODE was Construction. (not to mention there are updates we dont know about that happen all the time..) Official updates are ones which require the whole server to be temporarily taken offline so the code can be refreshed. The last time this happened, as stated, was Construction. secondly, it takes im guessing everyone thats posted so far is a new player with no hope of ever getting a partyhat because if you had one like i did and know how much time it takes to get them, then you would agree with me, that anything short of a reset is uneceptable I have a possibility of getting a party hat in the near future. However I also know that of the hundreds of party hats in the game (and I can assure you, there are hundreds), a very small amount were lost. From the honest reports I have been able to see, maybe 10 total. Jagex has never cared for the rare market, they never intended for rares to explode in price. To them, each party hat is worth exactly 1 gp, no more, no less. Tell me, why, from their view, would a rollback be logical? Thousands of customers would lose tons of work, some of them losing millions of experience. Others would lose tons of money, and think about he market... all trades since Construction would be reversed. People would lose party hats in the rollback too, I know of people who earned the last few million gp needed for one after the release. Their party hats would suddenly turn into a mound of gold worth significantly less, and they would have to attempt to earn the gold again. Overall, a rollback is illogical for something Jagex views as so minute in the game, and for such a small amount of losses compared to the huge losses players would experience in the rollback. Certainly customers are angry now, but how angry do you think 3 million players (f2p would also require a rollback, of course, because members would have bought things on f2p worlds, and vice versa) would be after a roll back? My guess is a lot more angry than they are now. Edit: Evil BBCode tags  Add your blog to the BlogScape Index!SaidinWoT can now be tracked easily on weekends - Erm, maybe when I start playing again.Levels do not measure intelligence OR maturity.
June 7, 200620 yr the 100;s that wanted to be killed are no better then the guy killing them, bug abusers ban them i m talking about the people that where killed first, when that looser found out he could kill people do you think the first thing he did was kill the dude with no items on them, or go after the guy with full guthans and a whip, with a party hat... i think the second choice is most likly. a roleback or a day is not that bad stop being so selfish and think about it as if you had lost somthing Durial alone only pked 2 phats which one of them he got there werent THAT many bug abusers my estimate at the max is that 100 people were killed MAX
June 7, 200620 yr if jagex doesnt have a reset if proves they care nothing for there players and only money. considering the fact that to get a partyhat you need to be rich really rich, and most people with then are players from the very beginning of runescape. if they dont reset im quitting this game for good. i did not even lose anything. i would quit even if all it ment was they lost 5 dollars a month from me. i just cant play a game for people that care so little for players. the messed up, if they cant own up to that, then they dont deserve my bizness Yeah, theres a smart business move. Piss off 2 million players to help out a few rich people. I don't think so. The self-proclaimed king of bronze.
June 7, 200620 yr It's Durial321's fault for abusing the glitch. As well as people were NOT listening to the player mods who kept saying "BANK YOUR ITEMS" everyone was just following durial as he killed. It's THEIR fault they lost THEIR items. No Jagex's. People know that abusing a glitch is against the rules. Blame it on the abuser, and the idiots who weren't listening to player mods or mods. And thanks, I doubt anyone wants to lose alot of cons levels. ALSO I put 1mill into my house, and thanks. I don't want to rebuild it all over. Wolfy is Officially Retired.I miss you all (Well, mostly my friends n stuff)If you want to talk to me, send me a message, I check the boards daily. :D
June 7, 200620 yr Jagex never wanted phats to be so rare in the first place, if you look back to when they stopped drops, they said that it was meant to be for a little fun, but not for it to be a way for a few poeple to get insanely rich very fast. besides, if you own a phat, you have probably made about 50-200mil without any work at all, alot of people would find that pretty unfair. I understand that some people lost stuff like barrows aurmour, but if you mananged to earn one set, its not that hard to get another, because they dont rise 1-10mil a day like phats do. Lastfm
June 7, 200620 yr wow well if im not quitting because of the bug im quitting because this has got to be the worst communitty ive ever been apart of.. don't let the log out button hit you on the way out. firstly being selfish is natural it is how we survive, secondly were you even logged onto the game when this was happening and lastly if a roll back where to happen now it would take the game back to 7am on 5th of june 2006 over 40 hours before i write this post just think about how many more ppl that could effect, ppl who finnaly beat JAD must do it again. Cursed You would probly loose 99 construction. the sum of money players would losse due to a roll back far outseeds what was lost to the glitch. there is no logical or ethical basis for the rolw back as those were robbed during the bug would get there stuff back at the cost of robbing the stuff from those who gained in almost 2 days Barrows drops to date: ahrim's skirt, hood and top x 5. Dharoks legs top x 2 and helm. Guthan's legs and plate. torags plate x 2. verc's flail skirt brassard x 2. karil's x bow coif and top 1st d drop 03/03/06 d med in barrows
June 7, 200620 yr I've had several partyhats ever since they dropped, but why would I want a complete reset? Tens of thousands of players would quit and Runescape would close down. Nice idea genius. "300 programmers make their futile but glorious last stand against 1000000 angry players in The battle of Misthalin. They fight for honor, glory and new content sacrificing themselves so that their game may live on. This is Madness! This Is JAGEEEX!"
June 7, 200620 yr If the game rollbacks, which i don't think in a million years will happen, i'll lose those horrible agility lvls, Underground Past and Legends, and i'll cry :P In a little hilltop village they gambled for my clothesI bargained for salvation and they gave me a lethal doseI offered up my innocence, I got repaid with scorn"Come in'', she said, "I'll give you shelter from the storm"
June 7, 200620 yr secondly, it takes im guessing everyone thats posted so far is a new player with no hope of ever getting a partyhat because if you had one like i did and know how much time it takes to get them, then you would agree with me, that anything short of a reset is uneceptable Bro I've played this game for a little more than 4 years... was playing this game BEFORE they came out with members back in classical.. I remember @ran@, I remember the black hole, i remember sleeping bags.... I remember when pick-axes were in one type, and it was click on the axe, click on the rock, one swing, you either got ore or you didn't..... And yes... I was even around for party hat drop (collected a few white and red ones cuz they looked cool)... Every single new update that comes out has a bug to it... in some form or another... I bet you didn't complain when that one guy duplicated like 50 pink party hats... and you got the most expensive one in the game.. did ya?..... Just like those idiots who lost their party hats to the Kalphite Queen when she was first released?... Wasn't Jagex's fault. This is how it goes sometimes... and only the REAL good players can get their stuff back
June 7, 200620 yr If they reset, the other 199.9k people who wasn't the victim would be probably very mad. Like for instance, I powermined 10k iron, and I don't want that to go to a waste. My friend pked a whip and full dh, he doesn't want that to go to a waste. Another friend got dharocks plate from barrows, before he did he's bank value was only around 500k. He doesn't want that to go to a waste. Etcetra, etcetra, etcetra. http://forum.tip.it/viewtopic.php?t=525348 - My Pking Gallery I'M BACK FOR SUMMER BABY

June 7, 200620 yr Hi, thought I'd respond to rants about a bug we had last night where some people managed to go playerkilling outside of the wilderness. Development staff got out of bed in the middle of the night to sort things as quickly as possible, but I apologise for this inconvenience that will have been caused to a number of our users. We do have a testing team who did spend a lot of time testing this update, but the update had so much content I guess it wasn't that unlikely we'd not think of every way to break every feature and that something would sneak through. That is not an excuse to be lax on things on my part, we are obviosuly unhappy that sort of bug occured and certainly wouldn't want a repeat of it. We are learning from this and are making improvements to our testing and coding procedures so that this sort of bug will be less likely to occur. I would like to take this oppurtunity to point out that bug abuse is against the rules of our game, especially something as serious as this and people involved with this one have their accounts disabled now. I wish it was possible to refund items people have lost, but it's just too hard to tell who really has lost stuff, there would be too many false claims to handle - as it is I can see people claiming they have lost stuff that weren't even online at the time. The people making up stories make it seem like more people have been adversly affected by bugs than actually is the case In terms of rollbacks, they're pretty tricky things for us to do technically and it's certainly too long ago to consider now as it would majorly set people back an awful lot of game play time. Thousands and thousands more people than were affected by the bug. I would also like to point out that we cannot unfortunatly allow people to link to other sites, those are standard forum rules and always have been and not related to this incident - this is NOT us covering things up - but more that we cannot be sure that certain of the security of other sites and that things won't contain keyloggers. Paul This is a sticky on the Official Runescape Forums. Do you think Paul would right this if he didn't care about us? don't worry, you are going to "hell" anyway. wanna race to see who gets there first?Officially reached 100 Combat at 1:33PM EST, June 14, 2007First Dragon Drop: Dragon Chain (Dust Devils) @ 10:48PM EST, July 14, 2008, lv113 combat
June 7, 200620 yr I know a rollback won't happen, but I think they should have actually done it when the event happened. I feel for those that lost over 100M worth of work, and a rollback would lose me maybe 100k cooking exp? Big deal. I already have the fish in my bank, I would just have to cook them over again. Most of you dolts don't even grasp the situation...you would be reset to earlier that day, and you would only lose any items or experience you gained that day. Oh no! I would lose 34 magic levels I gained in one day! WAH! You gained 34 magic levels in one day, you can certainly do it again...others lost months and months of work when they lost their hats. Oh no! I would lose the final 2 million coins which would buy me a hat! Get a grip...you can make 2 million coins back in a day easily. You cannot, however, make 100M+ coins back in one day easily. You say thousands take priority over the maybe 100 players affected...however, it's not quantity, but quality which counts in a situation like this. Big deal, thousands of players lost a few hours of work. Compared to those that lost months of work, I really don't think your one strength level matters that much. And to that one MORON that claims the threadstarter is a narcissist...WHAT ARE YOU SMOKING? Use words when you KNOW WHAT THEY MEAN! I don't know about you, but the threadstarter seems a whole lot farther from narcissism than most of the others posting on this thread. Have a little heart people.
