How to train skills - Without the Mills (V.1.4) - Lil Update

Featured Replies

Darn, I was desperately hoping this was going to be about Construction. Considering you are something of an expert (lol), and considering that we are still working on completing the guide (ahem), would you be willing to share some of your expertise?

That would be with or without the "mills", BTW. (I thought you meant sawmills. Obviously I only see what I want to see, heh heh.)

Don't worry about anything that is included in the Jagex Knowledge Base, or details about the tea - we have plenty of info on that. But anything else would be GREAT.

it's a lot easier to get over yourself when you look at intelligence the same way you look at beauty, or height, or eye color: being smart is easy, but being good is hard ... being smart is handed to you, being good is handed to *nobody*.

Yea same here, but I allways go by this rule: If I can get the fruit from the tree elsewhere, like pineapples, bananas, apples and so on, the tree goes down, if I can't, like with curry tree and papaya, I only replace it with the same kind of tree. This does mean some of your fruit tree patches become fixed (1 for curry, 1 for papaya), but since you hardly get tree seeds in great amounts, that doesn't really matter.

Haven't played RuneScape since 12 january 2007 and it feels great :)

Well, I may be a relatively inexperienced skiller, but I do have a few tips on training construction without spending too much money; this is only here to help--I don't mind whether any of these ideas are incorporated or not. Let's begin:

So you're more parsimonious than Scrooge, more cheap than jokes about Micheal Jackson, and want to keep what wealth you have managed to hoard and still level up constuction! No worries! Limestone bricks are for you! You've heard rumors, maybe. Limestone bricks are for noobs! No self-respecting person would ever use them! Alright, so they aren't the greatest xp in the world, but they'll get you one step closer to 99 construction without burning a hole in your pocket.

40 magic, 41 mining, and 5 construction are needed. A crafting level may be needed, but I'm not sure.

1) Get the necessary materials to start this method. You should obtain

some laws (~1 law rune for every 25 limestones you plan to use), a

pick (rune is best), boots of lightness, some airs and earths, and 1000

gp (if you only have one garden), and a chisel. Extra runes are

recommended. Also, it is great to have a piece of jewelry that allows

you to teleport (ring of dueling is best).

2) If you only have one garden, go to your house and make a garden (this

will cost you 1000 gp).

3) Tele or walk to varrock and go to the eastern bank there. Withdraw a

rune pick and the boots of lightness. Equip them!

4) Go past the sawmill operator and look for a limestone mine by where

you start the "Rag and Bone Man" quest. Mine 28 limestone. Tip: Each

limestone rock can be mined 3 times! It is recommended that you

stand in-between two limestone rocks and alternate mining them.

5) You can now do one of two things: run back to varrock or tele there.

The former is highly recommended because it allows you to carry 3

more limestone and saves you some runes. Bank the limestones you

have collected at the eastern bank.

6) Repeat steps 4-5 until you have all of the limestones you need.

7) Now withdraw a chisel from the bank and 27 limestones. Chisel all of

the limestones into bricks (use the chisel with the limestone) and bank

them. Repeat until all the limestones have been chiseled.

If you can get a saw and a hammer in your house, follow these instuctions:

8a) Now make your inventory have 1 law rune, 1 air rune, 1 earth rune,

and 25 limestone bricks.

9a) Teleport to your house and go get your hammer and saw.

If you can't, follow these instructions:

8b) Now mke your inventory have law runes, air runes, earth runes (any

number is fine), and 20 limestone bricks.

9b) Teleport to your house.

Both choices should merge now:

10) Exit the portal and re-enter your house in building mode.

11) Go to your second garden and choose to build a centerpiece. Now

build a decorative rock. Demolish it. You should be able to build 4 (5

if you chose path A) decorative rocks per trip. Now go to the nearest

bank or teleport using a piece of jewelry. If you are using a ring of

dueling, teleport to Castle Wars because it is close to a 1-click bank

(this is the best method).

12) Bank and repeat steps 8-11 until all of the limestone bricks have been

used.

It took me a while to make this; I hope it helps you.

Nice job so far. Plan to add anything about crafting? That's the only skill I have trouble raising cheaply.

I may be immature, but that made me laugh!

Finally a good guide for farming.

Interesting parts, although their are a few F2P skills aswell, namely crafting. You are just posting P2P which is fine, but reframe that this guild is P2P only

For runecrafting without money:

Air crafting all the way, doing fires along the way from time to time if you like. And once you get alot of profit you have the choice of keeping the profit or blowing it all at world 16, for good and faster experience.

*small hint*

Nice guide here Valor. If you are going for money on farming ranarrs are the way to go. Your reason to not use them was not good exp. Well in that part of the guide, you are not going for exp but money so ranarrs would be wise in this position.

A reflection is just a distorted reality held by glass and your mind.
