June 24, 200620 yr Until recently most of the people on my Friends list were from RSC and hadn't logged in for a couple years and the astranged person that I would pick up on the friends list the conversations were generally Person:Hi! Me: Hey there. *silence* *about an hour later* Person has logged out. But still with all the new people I've met *cough*At the Shade Temple*/cough* I'd definetly play but I'd be using AIM far more often than now.

November 23, 200619 yr Maybe Maybe not Friends are one of my top 3 reasons for playing so I can talk to them. I get on runescape a lot of times just to see if my friends are one and talk to them. It would also make merchanting my way nearly imposiable.

November 23, 200619 yr Nope. They make the game interesting and you can communicate with different people from all over the globe. Do friends need a purpose? They make you happy, you make them happy, stops you from feeling lonely and you can offer help.
