I suggest taking some drawing classes to get a good look at linear perspective... Or you can search around for some info on that. Once you get that a painting class is great for shading, values, ect. Once you get the hang of the basics you can really start making some better work.

Ehh... I hate to break it to ya but you may wanna stray away from pixel sigs. I mean sure, everyone has to start somewhere but even for your first time, that was like a 2/10... Maybe look into abstract... Maybe...?
