I personally would only buy a party hat for the looks, if i had one I doubt I'd ever sell, Unless of course it was an emergency. I like how if you're wearing a Phat and you walk into a room, even if you're one of the lowest levels there, you gain more respect than some of the higher levels in there. :?

I always wanted a green party hat because green is my favorite color. I worked my way from yellow, to white, to green (back in rsc when green was more than white).

Add me to those 503. I think the black cavalier looks better than any party hat.

 

 

 

Of course, party hats are and have always been status symbols. It's not just that they look good or are a good investment. They're also symbols, they show everyone how rich you are in the game.

 

 

 

If I had one, I'm not certain I'd keep wearing my cavalier, even though I think it's the coolest piece of headwear. Not always, at least.

rares are very valuable which also increases why people want them but i would like to get a green phat as an investment and as a nice thing to wear :-$

Now adays verses when i first started i don't see a phat and think wow what a cool hat... wish i could get one...

It seems like the people who loved the phat cause of how they looked are all gone... most of the people i talk to just bought it as an investment hopeing it will go up..

I bought my green because it looked good :)

 

It was still affordable for looking good at the time: 98MILL anyways I think there probably still are people that buy it for looks but the ones that want it for investment usually are the better money makers, so they get all the phats :(

It does look good.

 

In the times when I had one, I definitively bought it for looks.

 

Right now, I just got a few rares, waiting to raise, and it's definitively paying so far, 20M-ish profit, and I'll keep them for atleast another 6 months.

Well if you bought the party hat before you bought the skill in 99, you could wait with the party hat 2-3 months, then sell it and buy two skills to 99. :P

i would buy one to show wealth... and to wait till its it hits 500mil...

I assumed (like a person that can understand typos) that he meant 140m. I think they will climb very high, but not that high by next year. May be wrong though. I never thought Partyhats would go over 200m...

It's a paper hat. You know, like the ones you get from real christmas crackers that never fit right and have those horrible glue seams? I've dropped three or four in my time (they took up valuable bank space XD) and I've never regretted it.

Purples? they dont go with anything. Greens and purples dont go with anything from what I can see, or at least I havent found anything that match them.

I started playing RS the summer after the hat drop took place. At the time I began, a Rune 2-hand was 500k because only three players could make them and nothing dropped them, and a party hat SET was 100k.

 

 

 

I chose to save up and buy the Rune 2-hand.

 

 

 

Much later, I began a project to buy a complete party hat set - purely for the challenge of making that much money! I bought my first, a red, for 2m. I bought my last, a white, for 140m. Now I have a complete set, and I must move on to other challenges.

 

 

 

I'm thinking maybe 99 construction - that'll take a bit o' pocket change :D
