The Heat

Featured Replies

Tomorrow in the UK (wednesday) it will reach somewhere in the mid 30Cs, maybe even higher. It is unfortunate for me that I have to *work* out in this heat collecting trolleys in a supermarket carpark (Morrisons). I have been fairly lucky so far though because I have only done 7am to 11am shifts the last 2 days. I have wednesday off thank god. When thursday, friday and staurday come I will do 11am to 3pm shifts. And thats midday when it is the most hottest! :(

I do wear suncream but its only a spray and I have only put it on my arms so far. I wear green cap, and my god has it faded to a dull light green because of the direct sunlight.

I'm pretty sure that this heat in the UK is caused by global warming. The longer I keep my job at Morrisons the hotter my job is going to get. :uhh:

Anyone else here work in the heat to?

No longer playing Runescape, I caught the WoW bug.

I work in a normal shop, and it's very hot, also: we don't have airco. Be happy you can work outside, not at a way too hot inside. :P Had two days of now, but tomorrow it's going to be 35Cs. ANd I need to work till friday.

Think yourself lucky you are outside in the fresh air. I am in an old office building with no aircon, the windows dont open properly, there is no air moving about and it is about 35+ >.

It's still hot out there, the air I breath outside is warm. <.<

I'd rather work inside away from the sunlight. I'm at home now (obviously) and I'm still hot, all windows open with one table fan cooling my computer. Hearing those graashoppers outisde make me feel even hotter lol.

was meant to be low 30's here today and tomorrow, but it's turned out to be cloudy today which is keeping the heat down. I'm glad though because I have training later and I don't want to get burnt again.

edit - just looked at the thermometer in the garage and it's showing 29-30 degrees.

Come on over to where i live, constant 40C temps. Humid as hell. Youd be on the next flight back to England.

I watch the weather every day, always hoping for rain here in the south, but it seems that in scotland theres still cloud and rain about in the north. Lucky...

Lol that cracked me up! :XD:

i work outside. ive been getting to work two hours early, so i can leave two hours early. get all the hard work done in the morning when the sun comes up, and its not as hot.

im going to have to agree with matt and daan, working outside in the heat beats working inside in the heat. i work in a pizza place, back in the kitchen. with the ovens and everything it kind of feels like hell.

Helloooo?

I spend 7 hours of my day in a very hot 182-year-old building. I.e. my school. Radiators off, thank god, but no air conditioning. Or cooling of any kind. Strictly old fashioned, corridor and staircase windows shut at all times...oh yeah and a thick shirt?! Long black trousers?!

Indeed, most rooms at my school lack proper windows and air con. Only computer rooms contain them, dont want the computers to over heat now do we?

We dont have a choice of leggings either ;[. Although I wouldn't wear shorts personally (I hate the things) its nice to know we have an alternative.

Lol, I went to India at this time of year 3 years ago ... and trust me, India is freaking hot in the winter <.<

i am a paint noob

my dad as to work several hours a day in about 85degrees Farenhiet, with about 90% humidity. :uhh: I couldn't stand being out there for 2 minutes...lol..

[Admin Edit: No naming names in a negative light]

It's really quite stupid how they have things at college: they've got air conditioners, which they use to keep the air exactly as warm as it is everywhere in the building (not all rooms have air conditioning). They might as well just leave them turned off.

It's not bad here at the moment,30C is normal.Lol.We are not used to the cold.Since you're used to cold you won't like it here.

India is freaking hot in the winter?Lol.How did you come up with that?

Thanks to WithTheQuickness for the sig!

30C is normal here. Especially in July/August.

Yeah.

I live in the North, so i'm not complaining. :) Makes a change to clouds and rain. I spent all day today lounging about in the garden, bit of sun bathing and the like. Caught a fair bit of sun too. Great stuff. So yeah, "roll on tomorrow".
