Me and my friends do Barrows on a regular basis. None of us are sure whether Kill Count increases the chance of a Barrows Item or not! My friends have sent in queries and you haven't given a direct answer, but, my question is...

 

 

 

Does the kill count affect the chance of you receiving a Barrow's Item or not?

Thank you for your question and here is the definitive answer:

 

 

 

Answers A and B have combined to make Answer C - The kill count does count towards your chance of getting the items BUT only the amount of brothers you kill, not the other random enemies.

Everyone knew this already. I dunno why people didn't accept the other lots of mods saying the same response, but eh. Hopefully people realize that it doesn't increase chance of items.

i usually get 6 kc but i never get any items i think thats just my luck though :x

I always assumed that killing the brothers gave you barrows items, killing other stuff gave you runes, bolt racks, GP.

We've known this since the day barrows came out, it's just rumour and superstition that has caused people to think otherwise.

I always get 6 kill count. I'm there for barrows items, so I kill the barrows brothers to get a item thats all. I get an Item about every 3 trips.

the other monsters dont give more runes someone got a 9999 kill count consisnting of the other monsters and didnt recieve any above normal reward

also, kill count does have something to do with runes, cuz if you keep it at 6, you'll never get bloods...

it's not about how many you kill or how how easy you kill,it's about how fast u can run through tunnels so kc is random from person but at least just do a fast run and you easy can make a item.and and if you use like 5 times to open door to chest it will decrease your item percentage

not 1 single part of that is right...not 1, speed only increases your chances because you open more chests, if you open 4 chests an hour compared to 5 chests per hour your odds improve, not because you did it faster but because you opened more chests

I heard this towards the end of my barrows KC project, that and the fact we didnt get enough runs to post valuable results is the reason i stopped it and havnt posted any results. Maybe ill come back to it later but for now im f2p and cant do anything :)

well it makes you get more good stuff(bloods and racks and deaths) instead of getting alot of mind runes all the time

Well now we need to do a test with 10 kc, 20 kc and 30kc, ONLY record runes, coins, racks, half keys and meds. LOL

In no way does it say that killing the monsters lower your chance, so i dont see why you just get the 6 kc. If you kill every monster that you spawn, it would not change the chance of getting an item unless you do not kill your 6th brother.

Below 10 doesnt give bolt racks. Ive done 1k+ trips with 9 KC and have never had a bolt rack drop. But 9+ DOES give death runes!

I usually get a 20-25 kc, unless im low on food, i tend to get 200-500 chaos every other trip, 100-300 deaths on a 2:3 trip ratio, and bloods 41-81 every trip on a 4:5 ratio. Barrows items are really random with me, sometimes ill get 5 in 10 chests, sometimes ill get 1 in 30 chests.

 

 

 

With a under 10 kc, i usually get 100ish chaos, 50ish deaths, 500ish minds, and sometimes a small ammount (21, give or take) of blood and racks.

Get 7 or 8 kc from the bro's :D When you get one keep going through the door and soon another appears :ohnoes: *my friend and me asked Jagex if this IS bug abuse and they said NO, it's just what happens because when you run away from a brother they will appear later, so it is possible to have 2 in the same room.*

If anyone who doesn't know this wants to know, the Ring of Wealth DOES help rune drops. In 300 trips of 15+ Kill count I never got anything past ~85 Blood runes wearing a ROL, but in 10 trips of wearing a ROW I got 120+ Blood runes in half of them :) .

i dont know about 100 but this is what happened to me...

 

 

 

and the wierd thing about this is, even though it is single way combat both attack you at the same time, so lets just say it was bad, but, i did make it out alive and i killed both of them
