Thats what everyone said about POH and look what happened. Previous to medevial is all cave men and stone age, nothing exciting. After medieval ntohing exciting happened. They would all end up being FPS type. honeo Posted September 7, 2006 Share Posted September 7, 2006 Jagex's new undisclosed game = Runescape 3 Even more addicting than ever 8-) I think the lands of runescape's quests, storylines etc, are pretty dried up so maybe they do need a completely new project to start fresh. Runescape is a game pretty much no-one can be better than zezima, in this new game people will think "omg i can be the best" automatically getting a huge crowd but what they don't know is another person that is DETERMINED like Zezima will be top again or then again it could be zezima being the best at it again rofl. no way. I would like a rs3 but having my 3 years of work gone... I hope they'd have like a stat transfer and I think they would because too many people would complain if all thier stats would be reset A stat transfer? Were talking about a whole new game here... Who says there is going to be the same exp amounts? Same SKILLS!! Also, whats so bad about restarting if it's a whole new game? Also what would be the point of making a whole new game if you don't have to work for skills and quests, etc. Also, Runescape will still be available to play. It's not like they are going to completely close down Runescape for good. It may lose a few thousand players but it won't be unplayable. But on topic... If they do make a new game it will be 210% better than before. Because they are starting fresh.. with a new game engine and whole new idea with new people designing it. They couldn't do any MAJOR MAJOR updates on Runescape because it would require altering the client they are working on. And they couldn't do that without disappointing some people. So why not make a new game? Edit: Just say the post above me. You know why it went dead? When they made RS2 it was pretty much the EXACT same game just with way better graphics, ideas, conecpts, and quests. They added a few new skills over the RS2 history. But it still had the EXACT SAME title and MAIN idea. So it was like an upgrade. Jagex was like... well why would be people want to play an older version of the game? Read last page about the quote directly from Jagex. They even highlighted the section that they were looking for people with Anime, Sci-Fi, etc. experience. So it couldn't be an RS3 unless they make it futuristic(sp?). So how could they transfer accounts? The skills would be no where near the same. Having a brand new entire game and storyline would be great, but I remember how long it took me to be where I am right now, it was a long time. On the bright side, I and others would have another chance to become "Skill Cas....I mean Zezimas ;)", and it would be a whole new challenge for everyone. EDIT: But, I would hate Jagex if we couldn't transfer our current username and passwords. dudeguy409 Posted September 7, 2006 Share Posted September 7, 2006 I would hate to destroy your enthusiasm about a release of rs3 (actually not really, I rather enjoy it), but it is not going to come out. For one, Jagex just went through and enhanced the quality of graphics in the game. They have given a "makeover" to falador, lumbridge, the misthalin peninsula, and various creatures in the past few months. Jagex, planning ahead, would think it would be a waste of time to improve the looks of certain monsters and cities only to totally redo them on a new graphics engine later. like someone mentioned earlier, it will probably be an anime/sci-fi game. but i think they will continue to update runescape. They still havent released several of the dragon items, created a japanese style city where ak-haranu is from, finished the red axe, vampyre, miscellania, or elf quest series, and they continue to come up with new ones. Maybe they're even ditching Java. Hell, I'd at least try it out. And if someone says "der wunt be rs3 uz jajex aredy said no!1111" Couldn't that just be because they did't want everyone to get all jumpy? I doubt that they would want the whole POH thing all over again. Oh, and at the Cambridge conference, RS will be in all different languages and they (Jagex) said that the new game is planned for release in early '07.
