I was browsing through the tip it archives and found the highlights of 2005.

Now I'm thinking, what has this year been? By this time last year, we had big updates such as bronze dragons, slayer, ancients, barrows, the abyss, farming, dag kings, and the fire cape/fight pits.

 

 

 

Browsing on the archives all the archives I find the mage training arena, chaos elemental, the warriors guild, the big essence switch, pest control, the knowledge base, lunar magics, and of course constrution.

 

 

 

 

 

Am I the only one who thinks that last year saw much better updates? And it's also very interesting to see how different RS was a year and a half ago. Discuss. :P

you can only have so many big updates. more will come but you cant expect to have alot of them or else the game will change too much too quickly.

contruction wasnt all that big, there isnt too much that can be done with it that would effect the game as a whole, which I believe is what makes a big update a big update.

That is by far the largest update of the year. We also had two skills early last year, slayer and farming.

That's what I just said.

We're only 3/4 through the year, don't count Jagex out yet :P .

 

 

 

At this rate this year won't be as good as last year, but I'd say it's been a fairly productive year.

ME2 and Deathcraft?

 

Myreque storyline leading up to Bloodcraft?

 

much requested Crossbows?

 

The many and much needed GFX updates?

 

RFD, finally introducing armored gauntlets?

 

Food that heals 22 in 1 bite and is easy to make?

I sure hope they are working on somthing big to release by the end of this year.

I probably should have added RFD to my list, skipped over that one. The other 5 I wouldn't really consider a "big" update.

2005 was a big year for RS no doubt.. but there has been a lot of tweaks to the game play and bugs. I think the POH took a lot of man hours and planning so I think the rest of the year and beggining next will be big

Don't forget the world famous Durial glitch was discovered and fixed. That seems pretty big to me.

 

 

 

Off topic: Ancients and barrows are only a year old? How did people play c wars, much less win?!?! :uhh: Scares me to think about snaring in mystic... :shock:

second was the worst update...pure ess.....

this year hasnt seen many updates....but i cant compare because i started rs in december 05

I actually thought this was a rather big year. I don't think we should make expectations about Jagex, or be disappointed with updates. Just take what comes, and don't get upset.

 

 

 

I for one enjoy each and every update because I'm not thinking too much about them or what things are going to be like.

2005 seemed a better year than 2006 :^o

This year is mediocre compared to last year, but at the same time....there is still 3 months left...one big update would even em up pretty good.

If you like it or not, Construction is a big update. Pest Control, and Fight Caves are big updates. :? Just because you don't like it, doesn't mean it's not big. Oh! Can't forget RFD :twisted:

Also remember that MEP2 was realeased almost a year ago (sometime in October I believe) so it is quite possible that we could be getting MEP3 later in the year, which would really be a big update for questers.

Totally right. We need to have atleast one every like 3 months or so.

 

 

 

But i personally find the only recent decent (ooo that rhymes \ )update was RFD.

I guess so. Both years are pretty big, but to be honest last year WAS better. Hey, they can't keep getting better every year! :P
