any tips for pulling an all nighter?

Featured Replies

Yeah, I need to stay up for 24 hours..any suggestions?

Im thinkin caffeine.. dunno

Why? :? Well I stayed up for 2 days (like 48 hours, not long) because I watched live8 then tried to see how long I could last-before realising how pointless it was and feeling like crap  Um I just drank coffee and tea and can't remember what else really..but honestly just don't do it :-#

dont know why you would want to but,

- avoid darkness play with lights on

- have munchies

- dont have music

- drink coke not coffee (something to do with heat)

- break routine, it might sound disgusting but have a shower the morning before and after, your body is use to a shower followed by rest so trick it.

- avoid complexity, so no study or anything too hard

- have people to talk to

- and avoid talk about sleep and how tired ur feeling

What exactly are you pulling an all-nighter for? If it's for fun, I'd suggest you avoid doing so. You'll just end up feeling like ..poop the next day.

But anyways, the best way to stay awake is to be with other people. It doesn't really matter what you're doing, as long as you're interacting with others. Remember to eat and drink WATER (yes, water).

Teaching and inspiring.

I pull all nighters all weekend till around 7am Sunday morning.

I suggest:

- Lights ON!! It keeps you awake

- Music on low volume

- Some food

- Do a wee and poo BEFORE playing

- Take a 15 minutes break here and there and talk to people

Thats all. I consentrate great at night, and its when I get the most xp per hour spent :)

Just don't think about it. Occupy yourself with other things - like going to a techno rave, chatting up a woman, buying suicide shots and trying it on with the barmaid...

...Wait...we're not talking about that kind of all nighter are we? >_<

Last summer i was up for aroun 60 hours. just to see how long i could last. I drank around two cups of coffee and played some mmorpg's. didn't talk to anyone. Buut i was used to being up for long. The mornings are the hardest imo. Around 6 to 12. Anyways just drink coffee and you'll stay up pretty good. A bath would be nice too. :D

A couple of years ago I stayed up for about 70 hours before finally taking a four-hour sleep before getting up to go to football training.

I don't know how I did it and I never want to do it again. My sleep patterns were out of whack for a week or so.

Just keep yourself busy, whatever that might be to keep yourself entertained.

Inuendo not implied there :-w

effective ways -

caffeine

adrenaline

saccharine (NOT sugar - gives you a down)

taurine

And I guess I just wanted to tell you, as the light starts to fade, that you aree the reason, that I am not afraid, and I guess I just wanted to mention, as the heavens will fall, that we will be together soon if we will be anything at all.

Until I read the first sentence, yar lol.... :shame: :shame:

Umm. Stay in your dayclothes...lights on, apples, coffee, (apparently apples are better for your energy levels than coffee! May not be true but ignore my spam...) Sit up reading a good book or talking to people, DO NOT WATCH A FILM!!! Um. Yes. Think about random things that's aren't particularly pleasurable to you...

May just be me, but reading makes me sleepy.

Keep your mind active, not necessarily challenged by doing puzzles etc, but active. Think about what you want to do, what you have done etc.

Drink energy drinks, not necessarily warm/hot, but something with caffeine or stimulants.

Stay in your day clothes, yes, and stay in a well-lit room. Sitting in a dark room and using a computer/television can cause damage to your eyes. Try not to look at any clocks or anything with the time.

If you do feel sleepy, open a window. Or something similiar, get some cold air circulating.

Every ~15 minutes, do a quick jog on the spot or jumping jacks etc. Keep the blood to your brain and help you think straight. (This is actually great to do in school if you feel tired)

Uhh, slap yourself?

That's all I can think of.

24 hours is easy, shouldn't be too hard, once you hit the 30 hour mark it starts to get to you, coffee works wonders, stay away from alcohol and weed, that'll make you more tired

Starbucks Doubleshots are the best tasting caffiene-loaded energy drinks around. They can be a bit pricey, but if you really have to stay up all night finishing that paper, they do the job well.

Everybody hug and spread the love :D

MY advise...rest up before you start (no that did not make sense). Drink energy drinks and eat apples. Avoid the alcohol.
