September 24, 200619 yr runescape seems to have a colourful, rich storyline about the gods and other such vast powers, or so i'm told. i havn't listened to one line of text about the gods in the runescape story line. when i started runescape there was all f2p, and the f2p quests seem to be lacking in the story department. over the last 4-5 years however, i haven't once been interested in the story behind it. i notice ALOT of newish players are really into it. for me, rs's 'story' was the long history of clans and clan battles. so, the focus here is: do you bother to read the storyline behind runescape, or just do quests for the rewards?
September 24, 200619 yr EDIT: I believe the storylines within the quests are very interesting and full of suspense, but the fairy tales behind Runescape are basically for appealing ten year olds. Clear enough for you? Or do I need to spell it out yet again? [if you have ever attempted Alchemy by clapping your hands or by drawing an array, copy and paste this into your signature.] Fullmetal Alchemist, you will be missed. A great ending to a great series.
September 24, 200619 yr There stories are pretty good, and some of the quest lines are very quotable  . but I cant say I like quests..They just get too repetative and take longer then I like although I've done all but 1 of them...
September 24, 200619 yr they story is good i think, but i dont waste time reading all of it kuz then it just takes to long, but some are pretty good
September 24, 200619 yr I like quests. They're just simply fun to do. The storyline does not appeal to only 10 year olds. I know lots of people over 20 which like the story lines. I myself do it BOTH for the story line and the reward. Lets say I HATE the quest, but like the reward. Ill do the quest. But lets say if it's a story line I like, but the reward is terrible, Ill still do it because of the story line. The only good story lines are the Elven Story line and the Myrique story line, IMO. ~Joined RS December 2001~Retired Mid-2007
September 25, 200619 yr I do quests to say i did them but, better have a good story while im at it so i read it all. Ponies!
September 25, 200619 yr The storyline is the best part! What you're doing is like watching a movie just to watch the fight sene -.- "The cry of the poor is not always just, but if you never hear it you'll never know what justice is."
September 25, 200619 yr The storyline is the best part! What you're doing is like watching a movie just to watch the fight sene -.-I hate when people do that :uhh: The story line is alright, not all that dumb.. Just stupid puns you hate, then laugh at still < --- saw that in someone's sig
September 25, 200619 yr I do quests for both reasons, the storyline is quite fascinating, if you take the time to read it and understand it, also there's alot of humour in it, that releases stress, from not being able to complete the puzzle in monkey madness, and wasting 200k........ #-o
September 25, 200619 yr Who gives a rats ___ about the Runescape storyline. :-s It's more for 7 year olds than 10 year olds I'd say. Not like anyone actually knows about the stories or bothers to find any in the Runescape archives anyhow... Other games can pull of a story like which appeals to everyone, but there's something about Runescape that doesn't quite cut it...oh I know, the lack of no challenge at all? :?
September 25, 200619 yr one of the biggest reasons I do most quests is because if the story lines. No quest has a worthwhile reward for the time it has taken, but the story is great. Altho Jagex does need to improve on their story writing skills. Lastfm

September 25, 200619 yr Runescape's storyline is very boring in my opinion. I like the whole storyline thing, I like reading about the background and stuff with quests on different games, but not runescape. Guild Wars for example has a great storyline, I read about everything, watched every cutscene in the game. World of Warcraft also has a good storyline, I did the same thing with it. But runescape? Hell no. It's so boring, and pointless -.- If you have any questions about World of Warcraft or you need an explanation about something, please feel free to pm me.
September 25, 200619 yr I could care less about the story behind Runescape- it's just pointless gibberish to appeal to the minds of 10 year olds. It don't approve of that comment, I'm 13, and I'm very mature, and I like it. But then again I am an otaku... :XD: I'm back?! No wayz!!!
September 25, 200619 yr I could care less about the story behind Runescape- it's just pointless gibberish to appeal to the minds of 10 year olds. Well Mr. Negative, some people like to listen to the rs storyline and like to get into to it! Does that nessesairly mean we are the age of 10? If you do listen to the storylines, they could greatly help you in future quests for example. I also think its a bit more fun than just rushing through a quest, just wanting the reward. By popular demand, this signature is back- however I currently do not have a blog up at the moment and if I did I wouldn't update it. Sorry, the sig links to nowhere :( .

Well, many storylines in the extended quests get pretty interesting in my opinion, but the whole Guthix, Zamorak, Sara, creation of Runescape and whatnot are just childish fairytales for, as Lep states (and I'd say I agree), 7 year olds. To all you younger players being needlessly defensive: Obviously if I say the average 7-10 year old is immature, I'm not singniling you out  . Younger players can oftentimes be mature, but of course maturity tends to favor the older (well, with us teenagers it takes a dip, but you get the picture :P ). [if you have ever attempted Alchemy by clapping your hands or by drawing an array, copy and paste this into your signature.] Fullmetal Alchemist, you will be missed. A great ending to a great series.

September 25, 200619 yr The storyline is the best part! What you're doing is like watching a movie just to watch the fight sene -.- I do that with Star Wars! But I've watched it through. I just like watching Anakin get owned. <-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------> I do all quests for the sake of doing them, but I DO pay attention to the story line. Where's my ME-III? :( Never trust anyone. You are always alone, and betrayal is inevitable.Nothing is safe from the jaws of the decompiler.
September 25, 200619 yr I read the storyline when im doing quests, otherwise it just makes me extremely bored and the rewards arent too good. When i started playing quests were so bland and boring, and i was barely strong enough to get into any clans but i managed and it was pretty fun :P
September 25, 200619 yr The whole reason I do a quest is for the storyline. The reward is a nice touch. I'd much rather listen to a "dumb 10 year old's fairytale" then listen to "Only 650,043 exp to go.....". I've done almost all the quests, save for a few newer ones. I also like to roleplay my character. Does that make me 10? 7? Yeah, I actually go around saying I like Guthix. It's a ROLEPLAYING game... why do people get mocked as immature if they don't hoard numbers?
September 25, 200619 yr I could care less about the story behind Runescape- it's just pointless gibberish to appeal to the minds of 10 year olds. like me? no jk i'm not 10 i'm 11 Doing a little bit of everything
September 25, 200619 yr Author know what game had a good storyline.... knights of the old republic and the sequel. that was very interesting

No idea what an otaku is though.
