Soz, I just got guthan and spent 400k getting a portal room (with tea) and dang, Portal rooms are 100k.... Anyways, I got on guthan having gotten a Kharyll portal I use slayer staff, painted rune kite, guthan helm, guthan plate, guthan skirt and rune boots...

 

 

 

I go to Dharok with full pray.... I click on the tomb, he appears and bam, I splash, splash again, 1, 1, 1, 3, 17 (finally) splash then a random assortment of 10s and 15s..... Omg!!!! 12 points left outta 53 on Dharok when he died... Then Karil...I counted 12 splashes.... The rest was pretty same old, same old I got maybe a SC (splash Count) of maybe 50.....

 

 

 

Then I read a topic from RAHK, wth? He stayed down there for 17 hours???

 

 

 

And barely used up any p pots and or food...

 

 

 

So I ask the question, what do you guys think?

 

 

 

Do you still really think that magic dart doesn't depend on mage attack bonus?

I believe Leesters made a topic saying it does use magic bonus but because the brothers have such low mage defense, it doesnt affect that much if you wear melee, range armour. :)

i think magic dart depends on magic and slayer level.

 

 

 

not with magic bonus cause alot of people use heavy rune armour and slayer dart at all assortments of places.

It's just that the Barrows Brothers have crap magic defenses. (Except Ahrim)

I've always found having a higher magic bonus helps while using magic dart, but the brothers have such a low magic def to begin with, it doesn't make an extreme difference.

Want to actually test this? Go fight ANYTHING other than Dagannoth Rex or the Barrows brothers wearing melee armor and use magic dart, and tell us how it goes. :roll:

I saw RAHK when she was down there for 17 hrs lol, kept testing different kc even though its basically been proved kc above 6 does'nt affect item drop rates.

On Topic, The only reason that Slayer Dart or ANY OTHER spell works down there is because of the Barrows Brothers VERY HORRIBLE Magical Defense. If you won't believe me, go and try to kill some Metal Dragons in the same outfit you use for barrows...Just try it. :wink:

I first used full ahrim no staff with zamarok godbook to barrow. I fail very less often on Karil. Next, I switched to monk robe with rune kite. My prayer was empty before he bowed down(very unlikely if im maging in mage armor). However, the other brother excluding ahrim and karil can be taken down easily as long as mage bonus is above 20.

You can have -50 magic bonus and still take down the melee brothers and karil, and dag king rex because they all have the worst mage def in the game (as far as i know).

 

 

 

bottom line it is, it just doesnt matter for barrows/dag kings.

But yes I have found that slayer dart is greatly affected by magic bonus. What a lot of others have said is totally true; the brothers just have super low magic defense. Try fighting an infernal mage with slayer dart while wearing armor, then do it while wearing mystic+. HUGE difference in how much you hit.

And for God sakes, we've had this conversation a thousand times at Tip.it, and I guess it took a few months for people to finally realize that Magic Dart is affected by bonus when they finally started using it on something besides Rex or the Brothers -.- . It is affected, m'kay?

rahk is a guy. as some people said, try magic darting stuff wearing a rune plate and legs.

In my mage gear I get over 100+ magic, in my Barrow gear about 20+. It doesn't matter that much because the Barrow brother have a mage lvl of 1 and a mage penalty of -50.

Hmm next time I go to Barrows I'll test this but I'll use Ice rush or something.
