Mollerz
Make the greater cage in throne room only the ability for you to expel. Noobs doing it all the time gets annoying. Dungeon rooms, seperate limit to the main house. Like 20 main rooms and 10 dungeon rooms. OR Ability to buy room space. 100k per extra room space you want. Marble items that look like marble, not like white crap. So it looks dark beige, grey and white. Skills garden - Ability to make 2 ore rocks. 20 of the required ore and 100k each rock. - Ability to have 2 fishing spots. 20 of the required fish and 100k each spot. - Ability to make a portal to any elemental alter (Air, Earth, Fire, Water). 250 of the rune, 10 talismans, and 100k. - Ability to grow 1 tree. 20 corresponding logs, seed, and 100k. - Ability to build a furnace. 10 Steel Bars and 250k. - Ability to make a farming patch. 20 Weeds, 100k. Gallery Room - Ability to put any set up on the wall (Helmet, Body, Neckalce, Cape, Shield, Weapon, Legs, Boots, Gloves). - Show case - Put any 8 items of coice in (along a whole wall). - Pickaxe/Hatchet Case. Collect one of every hatchet/pickaxe and hang them up in a case. - 3 Level cases. Chose one specific item for that skill and level and it will show on the wall. So say you use a coal, a sign will appear saying: '30 Mining' with the item underneath it. So you could use an opulent table and it will come up with '72 Contrcution' etc. Sitting: x2 Energy regain Sleeping: x3 Energy regain Four poster Gilded Bed: x4 Energy regain. Experience in dungeon and the monsters drop the items that they would normally, 1 in 5 chance it will drop something. So 4 out of 5 times it will drop nothing, not even bones/ashes. Quest hall adition. - Add ectophial case. Open case and use Ectophial. Automatically refilled, infinite uses. - Quest point counter. You have 155 quest points, the counter on the wall will display 155 QP. A chest in your study that stores 8 items like a bank. So you could put 5,000 raw sharks in, have 7 spaces left, and cook all your shark. This can also note and unnote items. This is all I got so far. Some of it was taken from other people and tweaked. beigo
I think the reason Jagex can't easily update player owned houses is because they've limited them too much. They've allocated memory for exactly 20 rooms in every member account, and each room is allocated the exact same amount of memory. You might have noticed that for most objects in a house you have a choice between 3 things to build or 7 things to build (eg. 3 types of cat blankets, 7 types of stoves). This means that they use 2 bits of memory or 3 bits of memory respectively to store this data (2^2=4, 2^3=8, the extra choice being not having anything built at all). They are obviously trying to keep the memory needed to store each room small, but it makes it very difficult to add in more options later, since anything added means extra bits, and I'm guessing there isn't any extra space in memory available for most rooms without increasing the size of each room. So the easiest thing to add to construction would be entirely new rooms (like this costume room). I'm guessing they realized the limit of 20 rooms would make people very annoyed by a new room so now they've got to allocate a lot more space in every account for extra rooms. This is probably why last week's update got delayed. Assuming they only plan to increase the max room count, any suggestions should probably be of new rooms, rather than more items in current rooms, since its probably a lot easier for them to implement. Erk02
Sitting: x2 Energy regain Sleeping: x3 Energy regain Four poster Gilded Bed: x4 Energy regain. I know that sounds like a good idea, but honeslty, who would go to their house just to regain energy? I think if beds were to be introduced, they would need a use that would make you want to teleport to your house and use it. I do English to Japanese and Japanese to English translation for free! Blipo
Farming in your garden? Gives you a reason to visit occasionally If you have a servant, you can task them with looking after your plants. The higher level your servant, the better chance there is that your plants will survive. Also possibly a higher yield from house plots, and/or more experience. elucin8er
Wow there are some VERY good ideas here, this is awesome. All of these would make visiting your house become a frequent thing. You'd make tons of house teleport tablets and go there very often as your stepping stone to other locations or a place to start events. -------- I also think the quest room should give small hints on quests depending on how filled the room is. This would hopefully stop people from using guides as much, and spark your interest in quests much more. I very much like the quest point display idea, for me that would be the most important part of the hall. Going over things I managed to copy some ideas I hadn't thought of, and really enjoy: Crafting - People can put up their dragon hide sets, similar to smithing. Fletching - Mount bows on the wall. Herblore - You could have a case with low, medium and high herbs in, depending on which ones you can id. Firemaking - A special fireplace, with the highest log you can burn in there burning. Very good, this would be more skill relevant compared to rune display cases and castle war armor display. There was a very good idea presented before on sleeping in beds in your PoH. Bascially, when you sleep in your bed, you see flashes of images from all the quests you've done. It's like you're dreaming up memories. Oh wow, this is insane. The better your bed the more dreams you can have. WOW dude, I completly love this idea. Either make cabinets...or let us keep food in our larders....i want to cook at home for a change. Your on the right track. Cooking at home should be standard, but there needs some reason that you would wish to cook AT home. Good idea, work on it, could be sensational. also the best thing I can think of is making "trade/shop room". you put the items u want to sell in it and choose the price for them and everyone that come to the house can just go to it and buy the items. the money will stock in a chest that only can u open and take the money from. This is quite possibly the best idea I think I've heard, seriously. This would bring down lag reduction in falador world 2, and stop all that running around for items. You could simply "unlock" your house(an idea about people using your house when your not home), post on the forums about things that your selling, and tell people the location of your house. People may then visit your house as soon as they find the post and buy the item, unless someone has already beaten them to it. ^ That idea is quite possibly the greatest of all, I can't explain how good it would be. Once the item is bought, players may then collect the cash off their butler, or retrieve it from a special room. Having your house unlocked would also spark you to actually make it more decorative for showing. So this auction of items would start a chain reaction that would ultimatly bring more people into your house. If nothing else goes ahead but this idea, I would be over the moon. I really think you should post on the main forums for this idea asap. Proper Daily blogging including Starcraft 2! wild_goat_14
To whoever who posted it....i like the 8 item bank idea. If they could implement that into a larder, id be sooo happy. The items you put in the larder would of course, have to be edible/cookable. I believe that the higher leveled larders should hold more food. Wooden larder:2 spaces Oak larder :4 spaces Teak larder:6 spaces Mahogany larder:8 spaces Now on to my second point... mahogany larders. They have everything else to mahogany...why not larders? If my first idea ever got implemented this one should be too...but if they dont then leave the teak with 6 spaces and get on with it. Thanks for reading. I shall take my flock underneath my own wing, and kick them right the [bleep] out of the tree. If they were meant to fly, they won't break their necks on the concrete. So, what is 1.111... equal to?10/9. Please don't continue.
transcript80
Though I like most of the ideas.... I like doing my things while interacting with other people! I know they can be annoying, but if everyone stays in their house all the time because they have ALL things there, nobody would be "out there". You might just call it "House-scape" or something. I guess some farming patches would be nice, as well as some of the skill-room ideas, but most of your ideas make it easier to level skills, or even make (huge) profits with it. You invest a relatively small amount of GP for a fishing pond for example, but you make back that amount (times XXX) while levelling up faster then ever! It is generally accepted that the whole POH skill was designed to be a money drain, so don't expect something from JaGEx that counters just that! The nice POH updates JaGEx has in mind for us this month (cabinets) that allow you to "show off" random event clotes and so on are nice because they free bank space, and the skill capes are going to be great no matter of the bonusses provided! Getting 99 in a skill is great no matter how "easy" it is! 227QP FTW!!! Other data was removed when acoount got hacked...
mualemjuggle3
The ideas here are great and I want them to be added. My only suggestion is to delete one 0 from every item and room. It'll make the skill more popular and not just the rich people will be able to train it. One less zero is still expensive but is allot better. whizkid338
I would personally like to see the skill room expanded some more. For Example: Crafting - People can put up their dragon hide sets, similar to smithing. Fletching - Mount bows on the wall. Herblore - You could have a case with low, medium and high herbs in, depending on which ones you can id. Firemaking - A special fireplace, with the highest log you can burn in there burning. These are just a few of my ideas. But I agree with new updates, I only seem to use my house for the portals and the guilded altar. That is what I was thinking. But to expand, You should also be able to store your crafting supplies in the crafting room, like your molds, thread, needles, and hides. And in the herblore room you should also be able to store supplies. Same with fletching, like your logs and unstrung bows, and bow strings, and flax. R.I.P The Old Nite. Heroes get remembered. But Legends never die. You were truly a Runescape Legend
Beest1942
There was a very good idea presented before on sleeping in beds in your PoH. Bascially, when you sleep in your bed, you see flashes of images from all the quests you've done. It's like you're dreaming up memories. I personally think that would be an awesome improvement to the PoH. Note, that I did not create this idea. The name of the author eludes me at the moment, and if you know it, please feel free to post it. This idea would be even better (its really good now), if it would restore your health and your energy. This way you really have a reason to visit your house during quests/clues or whatever you are doing. Personally, im lacking bank space because I got lots of things that are really cool but I rarely ever use (Sara and Iban staff, Excalibur, Darklight, Event clothing *these are taken care off*, Treasure Trail items and random questing stuff) If they would give us something to store our rarely-used-but-really-cool items, I would definitely visit my PoH more. And I might even consider training my con some more.. :) PoH's are really cool, but they just need to be more important in daily p2p runescape life. There must be a reason to atleast visit it 2/3 times a day. deangut
I for one do not think you will ever be able to get good xp from your house This would isolate too many players from the community... So I don't think any good skilling other then Construction will come of it.. But I would like a Bank in the House :) Even if it takes 90 construction to make it.. Dazzuh
A lot of people in England farm on their own plot of land outside their house. So that would bring some realism. Bludragon124
You should also be able to mount a stuffed Monkfish. (showing fish accomplishment as well as completion of Swan Song. Discuss :) if only you could stuff a "big" monkfish... i'd definetely have one from camping out there to get 76 fishing... i had to fish about 7k-8k monks... Noted raw mackerel drop... Wtfh? elucin8er
These ideas are good guys, but some of them aren't helping with the actual visiting of your house. We need changes that will give you a reason to visit your house 2 - 3 times a day. Ideas such as extra mounted fish and more rooms are good, but they aren't relevant to what I'm trying to ask :P Proper Daily blogging including Starcraft 2! Raven6666
Something animated would always be nice, apart from those darned monsters. The only animated decorations I can think of are the Fountains(Imp, Small, Large, Posh) and the Orreries and Globes, and as a side note, the Trophy Heads. Something animated would definitely draw me to my house if I started the Alchemists' path again, yet I doubt that would happen. Also, I was thinking, for the Wardrobes that are planned for this month, the word magic stood out, and I quickly thought of Magic Housing Crystals, and a thought that the wardrobes wouldn't be worth the money nor levels as it is about 80+ before you can start using it. As said just recently, something to store your minigame items and/or quest items would be nice, a simply modification to the storage on the Quest halls/Skill halls would do the trick, and something similiar to those cabinets we see in Varrock, Lumbridge and any other castle. Instead of making a new type of Garden, they could update it so you would built an inclosed area(like those Border-Stones for the Formal Garden) to plant with your own seeds, and have it operate the exact same way as all the other patches, although a hops patch may be a tad risky, and there may be difficulties with the trees(Fully Grown). If they can base it somewhat along these lines, i'll be happy enough, also having your servant to take care of the plants would be good, and paying in normal fees(not Farmers' Fees.) Jncon
Well in world of warcraft when you log out at an inn (which is the same as your house) you get what is called a rest bounus. Which allows you to get up to 200% of the normal xp. They implimented this because they wanted people that HAVE a life to be able to log on for short periods and lvl up just as fast as the NO LIFERS> That would be awesome for runescape :)And it would be the perfect thing for houses, everyone would want one. 99 smithing rsc
