Faux
The only problem I see with that is if whether the HDDVD and BluRay camps would actually license it. :: Guess the Movie Contest Champion: pfilc23 ::

indy500fan
Unless they got laser heads to read both formats, I find that hard to believe. There are a few companies out there that have made players that can read both. At least, that's what the headlines said. I never bothered reading the articles (I'm skipping Blu-Ray and HD-DVD altogether), but once digg comes back up I'll look for them.
How2PK
The adult film industry is backing Blu-Ray. It will win. I just read this and wanted to make a little comment on it. Do you really think the adult film industry is of so much influence? VHS only won with the adult industry because this was the first time you could watch this home, and alone. Otherwise you had to see it in cinema. Now that the internet has arrived and adults channels are in the air it is so much easier to get your hands on it. So I seriously doubt it's influence will be as big on this war as it was on the previous one. So that chip magically reads enable the player head to read data at different depths, righteo then :hsugh: Yea, I guess. But don't shoot me. I only brought it up. remoteman
Option D 1. Playstation 3 2. Wii 3. Xbox 360 Without brining predjudice into it, i've always owned a playstation :-w Nah its looking great, i'm saving for it atm. I think that the xbox is pretty crumby myself, the core system is crap frankly. Having a blu ray player is gonna be handy too if that is what future movies will be released on, and as i just bought a second screen (got a laptop atm) and a TV tuner, i won't ever need to leave my bedroom! (jks lol, i'm not that strange.) "A disbelief in magic can force some poor souls into believing in authority and business"
devildave6
sorry people but the wii has to be no one all the other consols are just repeating the same old thing over and over again just making it look a little shinnyer each time. the cost for making a next gen game is around10mil and the wii is the devrlopers pick because it will cost so much less to make a game on it and they can be more creative and original with it If you make a fire for a man he will be warm for a day, if you set a man on fire he will be warm for the rest of his life.i like tigers"if you say plz because its shorter then please ill say no because its shorter then yes""if you say trade please ill say screw you because its shorter then trading"
Mr_Putter
If you want to know about exclusives: 360 Exclusives PS3 Exclusives Wii ExclusivesYou know what I just noticed? PC owns. Other than Halo 3 (which will come to PC, but probably not til 2009-2010), we pretty much have all the best Xbox360 "exclusives" (Alan Wake, Bioshock, Gears of War, Splinter Cell 5), a few PS3 "exclusives" (UT2k7 etc.) and we get all the best multi-platform games (Assassin's Creed, Oblivion, GTA4 (will come to PC)). And all our own exclusives (sucks that we lost Half-Life 2, sucks hard). But we still have pretty much all the RTS's, we have the best FPS's, and we get the all the best games from other platforms, aswell as heaps more versatility in our machine. *Sigh* Assassin's Creed is also for Xbox360. Oblivion has been out on the 360 for months. GTA4, last I heard, was Xbox360 EXCLUSIVE, but I think I remember reading it was for both systems. I read the Ps3's exlusivities, and only a few made me want to buy a Ps3, whereas the Xbox360 pretty much forces me to buy it because I'd miss out on so much. Did you understand at all the point of my post? It was how PC get's all of Xbox 360's best games. Therefore, I know they are on 360. I was just stating how we pretty well get every big game in the industry, from either major platform, as well as an amazing range of our own exclusives. Oh yeah, and we got Oblivion at the same time on the 360. And GTA4 is 360, PS3, and almost certainly PC.

Viktorkrum77
I read about WII in Time magazine. It didn't appear very apealing. It's nice they are trying something new, but the idea didn't seem very good. At least IMHO, but I am no expert. However, I will say, I really like the design of the remote. Wow, I just realized, the only thing I care about on these consols is is there design. -.- Me doing staff.

It's the whole idea of jumping and moving around with a remote. It seemed that games like this ie. baseball games with actual plug in bats and golfing games to name a few, haven't been succesful. But then again, I'm no one to say it will do bad. I just have the feeling gamers would rather sit down then stand up. Me doing staff.

Besides, even with a conventional controller the most casual-gamers (Nintendo's target market) still jump around when playing with video games. That's why Nintendo made it like that in the first place. Case in point: http://us.wii.com/soft_loz_tp.jsp Any of those videos. :: Guess the Movie Contest Champion: pfilc23 ::
Guest XplsvBam
I bet it will be a close race between ps3 and the wii, the 360 isn't anything special halo kept mircrosoft elevated for awhile but it wont be able to carry the xbox by its self. The reason why I think the ps3 and wii are the only ones that have a fighting chance is because they have something to offer, like blue ray, and for the wii affordablity. Wow, I just realized, the only thing I care about on these consols is is there design. -.- Just try playing it when it comes out before you make your judgments. From all of your posts about video games, you seem to be way too heavily influenced by outer aesthetics, and actual graphics of games. The wii isn't as gimmicky as you think it is. I can't speak from personal experience since I haven't played it, but people who have played it say it's extremely intuitive, and just feels natural. I don't see how you can think the idea isn't good. Who wouldn't want to take that next step into realism? It's so much more natural to play a game when you're one step further immersed into it through natural controls instead of just using your fingers, primarily one thumb. Things that were never before possible with gaming now can be. So anyway, I'm basically saying to just take it for a test drive and make your judgments about it after you actually play it. Faux
And in addition to why people is expecting so much of the Wii is because one main reason - the DS. People thrashed it before it came out. The touchpad is a gimmik, blah blah blah. PSP will own it cause of the video capabilities and 1337-455 graphics. What happened? DS has about twice of the PSP sold. And PSP is mainly for homebrew, so Sony can't even break even with the software. :: Guess the Movie Contest Champion: pfilc23 ::
