October 24, 200619 yr I realize I'm extremely late with this one, school kind of gets in the way of quick guide-making. My Arm's Big Adventure Items Required: 3 Buckets (for Ugthanki Dung), Climbing Boots, 7 Supercomposts, Plant Cure, Spade, Tai Bwo Wannai Cleanup Materials Items Suggested: Trollheim Teleport, Games Necklace, Good Food, Good Armor, Good Weapon, Prayer Potions Quests Required: Eadger's Ruse, The Feud, Jungle Potion Skills Required: 29 Farming, 10 Woodcutting, Must have worked on Tai Bwo Wannai Cleanup, Ability to defeat a level 172. Starting Point: Burntmeat in Troll Stronghold Monsters: Baby Roc (Level 75), Giant Roc (Level 172) NPCs: Burntmeat, My Arm, Ash, Ali the Kebab Seller, Murcaily Meeting My Arm Items Required: None Items Suggested: Trollheim Teleport Head into the Troll Stronghold by whatever means you have. Burntmeat is in the southmost room, a floor above the goutweed. Talk to Burntmeat and you will see a cutscene of Burntmeat cooking an Adventurer. Here you will find out that the Adventurer has been growing Goutweed, which Burntmeat swears is impossible. He will mention Murcaily in Tai Bwo Wannai Village. Burntmeat will then introduce you to My Arm, who wishes to learn to farm. Out and Away Items Required: Climbing Boots, Bucket Items Suggested: Games Necklace Talk to My Arm and he will explain his name, then say he wishes for you to get the "Goutweedy lump" from the cauldron of Dung and Ash. Talk to Burntmeat for more in depth instructions. If you ask for directions, you'll view a cutscene showing you exactly how to get to Death Plateau. Either use this path (requires Climbing Boots), or simply use a Games Necklace to return to Burthorpe and walk to Death Plateau. Retrieval Service Items Required: Climbing Boots, Bucket Items Suggested: Trollheim Teleport One on Death Plateau, run west until you come across a cauldron with Dung and Ash to the south of it. Use your bucket on the cauldron to obtain a Goutweedy Lump. Ash will begin attacking you, so run or teleport. Return to My Arm and give him the Lump, which he will immediately eat. Having determined that it also tastes like goutweed, My Arm will finally request your help in learning to farm. He will lead you through the Troll Stronghold, to a rooftop with an assortment of items planted in farming patches. My Arm is to the north, near a soil patch. Soil Preparation Items Required: 3 Buckets, 7 Supercomposts, Spade Items Suggested: Camulet, Trollheim Teleport My Arm will present you with Farmer Gricoller's Farming Manual, which is a mildly thorough guide on farming. At the end it shows what combinations of compost and dung are good for specific areas. If you look at the Mountain entry, you will find that you need 7 buckets of supercompost and 3 buckets of camel dung. Talk to My Arm again to gain permission to fertilize the Soil Patch. Through any means of transportation, get to Pollinveach. Head to Ali the Kebab Seller, and ask to buy some of his special sauce. Put this in the nearby camel trough, then use your 3 buckets on the dung. Return to the rooftop of the Stronghold, and take a Spade and 7 Supercompost from the Leprechaun (if you don't have these with a leprechaun, be sure to bring them along!). Use each bucket on the soil patch, turning it into a New Farming Patch. Travels Items Required: Tai Bwo Wannai Cleanup Materials Items Suggested: Antipoison Potions Talk to My Arm, and he will tell you it is time to visit Murcaily like Burntmeat said. He will take you to Ardougne Docks, where you get to confuse Captain Barnaby. After a while, he will allow you onto the ship, and you will get a cutscene of the ride over, with My Arm complaining along the way. Upon your arrival, My Arm will run off, telling you to meet him in Tai Bwo Wannai, so head down. You will not be able to find My Arm anywhere, so talk to Murcaily asking if he has seen him. Murcaily will tell you to look along the path between Brimhaven and Tai Bwo Wannai. You will find My Arm slightly east of the general store. My Arm will send you back to Murcaily, who will tell you that gout tubers only grow well in hot areas, not mountains. Obtaining the Tuber Items Required: Tai Bwo Wannai Cleanup Materials Items Suggested: Antipoison Potions Murcaily will tell you that they might be willing to give My Arm a hardy gout tuber if you were to accumulate 60% favor. In order to gain favor, you must do the Tai Bwo Wannai Cleanup! After attaining 60% favor, talk to Murcaily again. She will now be willing to give you the hardy gout tuber, saying it grows very quickly, but warning you it could still become diseased. A cutscene will play, showing My Arm making a "Rumble in da Jungle". Murcaily will become so frightened of My Arm that she will give you a large supply of tubers. Talk to My Arm (you appear just south of him) and he will tell you that you should stop in the bank to prepare for a fight with the big bird. He will lead you to the boat again, and once again you will have a cutscene of both of you sailing. The Battle Items Required: Rake, Hardy Tubers, Seed Dibbler, Plant Cure, Spade Items Suggested: Good Food (Monkfish or above), Prayer Potions, Good Armor and Weapon Head to the rooftop with all your armor ready. My Arm will want to tend the patch himself, so give him a rake to weed the plot, then the hardy tubers, then finally the seed dibbler. After he has planted the tubers, a cutscene will begin, showing a Drunken Dwarf walking up to My Arm. My Arm will punch him, and another Troll will take him as food. The Goutweed might be diseased at this point, so give My Arm your plant cure. Be ready for battle, as soon as you give it to him, the birds will notice the farming, and a Baby Roc, level 75, will come flying in. Kill it, it's a quick battle. Shortly after, a much larger Giant Roc, level 172, will fly in. It attacks with Melee, Range, and Mage, the Mage attack stunning you temporarily. Range Protect with a good Melee armor is an excellent way to fight it. The End Items Required: Spade Items Suggested: None My Arm is now ready to harvest his Hardy Goutweed, but in order to do so, he needs a spade. If you didn't bring one along, you'll have to trek back to get one, as the leprechaun packed up and left after seeing the Roc fly overhead. After My Arm harvests the Goutweed, head to Burntmeat, but remember My Arm's promise of a reward if Burntmeat doesn't give anything good. True to his name, Burntmeat will give you a lot of Burntmeat! So head back up to the roof and talk to My Arm. October 24, 200619 yr Author My Arm makes a herb patch for you which will never allow herbs in that patch to become diseased. It is located next to his soil patch on the rooftop. October 24, 200619 yr nicely done. In items needed, you should note that Ugthanki dung is what you need the 3 buckets for... Some of us actually keep it in our bank ;) Proud to have gotten 1800 skill total before access to fishing guild Why make a house when you can rob one?
October 24, 200619 yr Well done as always. It might be worth mentioning a little easter egg I got off the official forums. If you use a amulet of nature on My Arm you get the message "This is a troll, and it is fully grown. The troll has not been treated." "Those who know nothing, can understand nothing" - Ansem, Kingdom Hearts
October 24, 200619 yr Nice guide as always =) You also get some herblore exp as My Arm harvests the goutweed (im guessing it would be the same as regular goutweed exp) so the reward is slightly over 5k, depending on how many goutweed My Arm harvests. Another great quest, i gotta get an amulate of nature and check out the little easter egg, sounds funny+ Still didnt get my farming level, 6k off, but this new herby patch will certainly help out a bit  And you caught me off gaurd, i just say "hyt" and responded :P ^^Click For Monster Hunting Blog (180M+ in drops)^^
October 24, 200619 yr Quick note: if after the battle you need something from the leprechaun, pop down the ladder and back up and he'll be back in his chair.
October 24, 200619 yr Does anyone know if we have to use compost with the patch? I'd assume not as we've already plonked 7 loads of super on it.
October 24, 200619 yr Does anyone know if we have to use compost with the patch? I'd assume not as we've already plonked 7 loads of super on it. have to is questionable, i assume compost is just for a higher yield?
October 24, 200619 yr Tricks and tips: Use Trollheim teleport (61 mage) to get close to the stronghold. Range the bird so it can't get close to knock you out If anyone remembers me... PM ME. having nostaligia issues D:

I'd assume not as we've already plonked 7 loads of super on it. have to is questionable, i assume compost is just for a higher yield? I used no compost beyond the 7 supercomposts and 3 camel dungs, so it's not necessary. October 24, 200619 yr Nice guide :) One time saver for those who have a Camulet: Wear the Camulet and speak to the camel outside the bank in Al Kharid. He will "provide" you with dung. Just use a bucket on it as with the camels in Pollniveach.
October 24, 200619 yr Great guide, i always use yours because theyre so fast lol. How should i fight the bird? Melee with pray mage, melee with pray range or range with pray range (high magic defense and cant reach me to melee). ~Guide to Solo'ing the KBD~ 99 Cooking | 99 Firemaking | 99 Attack | 99 defense | 99 Hitpoints
October 24, 200619 yr Are there any easy accesible safespots against the bird since I really don't want to defend against melee in addition. R.I.P. Shiva and Steve
October 24, 200619 yr Nice guide :) One time saver for those who have a Camulet: Wear the Camulet and speak to the camel outside the bank in Al Kharid. He will "provide" you with dung. Just use a bucket on it as with the camels in Pollniveach. Or use a dualing ring and use the camel just west-southwest of the gate. The herb patch is sweet, its like having a farmer always looking after your herbs, just plant and forget.
October 24, 200619 yr You might want to mention that if you Melee the bird you should switch to run (and have energy of course). I didn't and the bird kept knocking me away before I could get back to him to hit him. Dragon Drops - 10 Meds, 9 Legs, 5 Skirts, 2 Left HalfPM me to have any potions made or crafting done
October 24, 200619 yr Ok for the birdies I ranged them. First one no prob just take the damage no bigie. The big one i ran back behind my arm. So the melee attack did nothing and protect from ranged (Used one prayer dose) and just ranged him but that mage attack is annoying kept moving me back so I couldn't see him to attack. But I just ran back and did it again over and over had like 8 swordies spare ^_^.
October 24, 200619 yr A few points: I never needed climbing boots: If you use Games Ammy and Trollheim tele they aren't required. My rake broke when My Arm used it, so I repaired it and gave it back, but I gave him supercompost and the Goutweed never got diseased so I didn't need a plant cure. IMPORTANT: If you fight the Rocs before giving My Arm the shovel the leprecaun runs away. Log out and back in. You will be back in the stronghold at the base of the ladder. Go back up and the leprecaun is back. So you will not have to bank again to get a spade. Great Guide!!!
October 24, 200619 yr Awesome guide as usual!! I have not done the quest yet but was wondering can I get the Camulet back cause I dropped mine. If so how and from who? :)
