issy2
Ok, a cliched topic, but one a hope we can all enjoy. What is your favourite sport(s)? Why do you like this sport(s)? How good are you? Have you ever won any competitions? Who do you play with and where? For me, badminton and cycling. I like badminton because the racquet is very light, and the 'thud' and 'whooosh!' sounds when the shuttlecock hits the head are unbelieveably satisfying. I also like being in control, and such a sense of power is just fantastic. I like cycling because it's firstly a good way of getting around, secondly it's very sociable and thirdly because cycling makes me feel free. For instance if I'm in a bad mood or anything I'll just go out cycling for a few hours and come back feeling better than ever. I'm v. good at cycling (sorry to boast lol) planning on the London-Brighton as soon as I'm fourteen. This May it'll be my fourth go at the London Bridges. Badminton...I'm not very good but hoping to get better! I play badminton at the local leisure centre with my dad. I cycle everwhere on my own or with friends. So how about you? BlueLancer
Soccer is awesome, I won quite a few medals when I still played it. The coolest one must be skydiving though, I seriously recommend it at some point of your life if you want to feel like you're truly alive. 8-) Edit. issy2
Ah yes... And then there's the grear Dutch Ditchjumping. It's so original and most likely really hard, though I've never tried it. The concept is a large ditch about 20 metres across. It's shallow (about 4 ft I think) and there is a v. tall, v. thin pole about halfway across. Leading up to it is a diving board. You run along the diving board, then jump onto the pole. It begins to tip over towards the other side of the ditch, and you have to climb up it AFAP. Then it falls over, and the higher you got, the further you fall, and the more points. But if you fall off the pole... SPLASH. Haha..

Potter_Pkr
What is your favourite sport(s)? Tennis and Football Why do you like this sport(s)? Football because you have to play as a team and work together. Also its great to watch goals and matches. Tennis because in singles, its a sport that you play where you can only have 1 person per team. Which means you can play the game your way ( as long as it isnt treating) How good are you? Have you ever won any competitions? Football and Tennis I play for leisure and so have not played it on a competitive level. I am pretty immense in defending for football, blocking crosses, corners and I can do long range goals :P . For tennis, I am a pretty average all round player, but I have a killer spin :P Who do you play with and where? I play in the park with my friends or brother for tennis. For Football I mainly play at lunch time...if I'm not distracted by talking to girls. :D Retired 8th October 2007 | 99 Fishing | 99 Cooking | Owner of a Red Mask and 2 Santa Hats |
Randox
What is your favourite sport(s)? My absolute favorite is curling. I also play:hockey (goalie), swimming (breaststroke), biking, and downhill skiing. I also sprint. Why do you like this sport(s)? For curling, it's a great combonation of stratagy, physical skill, and observation. For hockey, it's just satisfying stoping all those puck, unless your hit between the legs :-w , for swimming it probaly ahs something to do with living on a lake, biking is just great exercise and it beats walking, and downhill skking, I just liek going really fast 8-) . No major injuries...yet :) How good are you? Have you ever won any competitions? Iv'e don well in curling. I skiped a game that had everyones attention(and I mean EVERY ONE) mainly because it was so close and well played. In hockey, it's not easy when you average about 70 shots on you again (goals against average no lower than 12 shots per goal scored). I havent competed in swimming althou im faster than most when using breaststroke. I don't compete in biking or skiing. And it is not easy to do well in curling. Who do you play with and where? I play almost everyday once things get going.

unknownmasterofnothing
Table Tennis because you can play it all around the year and it's air conditioned. It takes a lot of skill and athletic ability, which I like. However, to play someone good, you need to pay a lot. So I used to play with my friend, but he went away to college. So I play with this group of old chinese people, who are pretty good. Its really fun and I like just being really far from the table and lobbing it back and then counterlooping for a kill. I'm kinda good, but I played in a tournament and i lost in the first round to the winner of my age division. Handball because its really fun. But I play a power game, so sometimes my strategy stinks. I played in a tournament and got to the final 8 but I lost. Its pretty easy to get into, since you just need a handball and a wall. Theres handball walls, everywhere in NYC but kinda hard to get a open court. Basketball, I used to like and was extremely good at, but I didn't like the general crowd of who played. Tennis, because I didn't have a lot of people to play table tennis. I'm not really good because I'm just starting and I have to teach myself. I play in the park with my friend and sometimes with other people. It's kinda fun going to the net. And its a lot like table tennis, so its fun. Its like table tennis, just you're standing on the table. Badminton, I learned to play in gym in high school. It was highly competive and it was fun. Fadfdfd
What is your favourite sport(s)? Baseball Why do you like this sport(s)? I enjoy playing it and it's so exciting, you never know what's going to happen! You could ground into a double play or you could get thrown out at home, or you could hit a home run, or lots of other things. It's really exciting when the ball is hit in play with everything moving so fast. Baseball is really only a good sport if you understand it, because everything happens really fast in it. How good are you? Have you ever won any competitions? Good enough to make our town's all star team! :) . We won our district back in '04! Who do you play with and where? Friends on a 90' diamond. Or at our middle school, on the middle school team.

How good are you? Have you ever won any competitions? Not very good... Terrible, in fact. But hey, there's more to sports than skill (fun, etc...) Who do you play with and where? I "play" skateboarding by myself, except on the rare occasion when I get to go to a skatepark... Less than twice a year on average. - Np Tyler
assassin_696
What is your favourite sport(s)? Rugby, cycling and sailing (and tennis). Why do you like this sport(s)? Playing rugby is great fun, charging about with your mates. Cycling is a great way to push yourself and discover your limits. It's given me some tough lows when you feel like you can't go on, but some incredible highs when I reach the top of that mountain. Sailing is simply exhilirating. Tennis is good fun, a very mental game as well as physical. How good are you? Have you ever won any competitions? Got through to my county finals for rugby, play for the school A-team. Cycling, well I suppose maintaining a 20mph average speed over 75 miles was not bad. Sailing, nothing much, completed a few qualifications but mostly I just do it for fun. I'm ranked 6th in my county for tennis. Who do you play with and where? Rugby, my friends and at my school. Cycling, mostly on my own (easier to go at my pace). Sailing, with my family in Cornwall. Tennis, for my school, local club and recently in the south of france. "Da mihi castitatem et continentam, sed noli modo"
Nadril
What is your favourite sport(s)? Skateboarding. Why do you like this sport(s)? I always enjoyed the even mental stamina it took. Not only being a very taxing "sport" physicaly, but you need to tell yourself "I can do this.". In my eyes it helps build up a bit of self confidence, as you try stuff that is seemingly damn scary. How good are you? Have you ever won any competitions? I wouldn't consider my self that bad. I since quit a bit over a year ago, but during that time I wasn't "bad". I was more of a vert/old-school person, so I wasn't able to do a lot of the street tricks well. I did develop some great ballance though. Who do you play with and where? Well, I usualy skated with my brother and his friends. Went to the skatepark everyonce and a while. :)
Celluzion
Not really a physical sport, more of a mental sport, but I would say cuesports, amongst others, which include, Football, Fitness, and Running. Out of all, I prefer Cuesports the most though. I started out Cuesports to annoy a friend who always was much better than me, albeit he wasn't serious, he was miles better than me, and used to make fun of me for that. Now me, being pretty comptetive, started to play seriously, then now I beat the trash out of him. I forgot to add why I love the game so much. It's not so much of a physical game, more mental, you have to keep cool, plan at least four balls ahead, where do you control the white, and learning the rails to kick, if necessary. I get enough physical training as it is, and I enjoy looking at the ball spin wildy here and there, and have a sense of satisfaction when I control the cue ball with pinpoint accuracy(Doesn't happen much :P) I haven't really won any competitions, since it's not really a big deal here, you get the odd tournament or two but nothing much. My furthest was getting into the last 16 out of 64 players, including a few National Youth players. What can I do in Cuesports? Well mainly, I break, and run the table(Meaning break, and clearing the table in one turn) quite often, I'm also pretty efficient with the "Masse" shot, wherein you strike the cue ball down at almost a 90 degree angle, imparting major spin, and curving the ball around. I only do such shots as trickshots. Known formerly as Ameoba3000. Now known as Vigoss.
Uula
What is your favourite sport(s)? Tennis, javelin throw Why do you like this sport(s)? They're single sports, and there's always small details to be tweaked to get better. How good are you? Have you ever won any competitions? I won a javelin throw competition, but I was the only competitor :3> But I guess I'd normally be placed 3rd or 4th in my area Tennis I play mostly for fun though. Who do you play with and where? Javelin throw with my brother and a friend of his... Oy_the_Great
What is your favourite sport(s)? Definitely climbing and close second is a ball sport, but I can't choose between football and tennis. Why do you like this sport(s)? climbing: there is almost nothing better than the thrill of getting higher, literally then, combined with the outdoor freedom and the sense of danger lurking. football: because I'm a pretty technical player (I'm not a heavy, strong player) I love dribbling and free kicks. But above that I love the teamspirit and the general atmosphere. tennis: what's better than hitting a perfect volley or an ace, a sweet slice or a beautiful passing? In general I love getting exhausted, taking a shower and feel reborn. That's what attracts me in sports. How good are you? Have you ever won any competitions? I'm a pretty decent climber/alpinist, but I'm not that awesome in tennis or football, just average. Who do you play with and where? Friends of course, who else? Where? Football in the garden of the student home I'm living in, tennis at the tennis courts of our university and climbing in the Ardennes, the Alps or the Pyrenees.
