That Interface Change...

Featured Replies

Hey, does everyone remember when we got a new interface a few months ago? I'm sure you do. That means that you probably remember the grumbling (ok, full scale complaining) that it caused. But now that we have had the update for a while, how do you like it?

Can you find the run button easily?

Do you like the emote page?

Are the new menu icons better than the old ones?

Did you like the new tools menu that was kept only a few days, and then replaced with the current one better than the current one?

A topic like this had almost no chance of surviving when the update first came into effect, too many people were complaing about it, threatening to quit runescape, etc, so I present it to tip.it now.

I've learned to like it, so yes it is good.

Happy to find I'm not the only one who eats glass.

I can't remeber what the old one was like, but im fine with the new one, not so keen about the run button i usually log out when i want to run, so i use CTRL instead.

I liked it before even when the run button wasn't changed. It's just even better now \'

I find it silly when people complain about changes like that, (like when Falador 'turned white' aswell) because you (nearly) always get used to them in the end. Same with everything in life basically:P

I've simply gotten ''used to it'', despite that at the time I said I never would, lol.

Actually, those emote pictures- I still can't memorize where each one is. <.< Just the word 'Wave' for example, I found much easier to spot.

I thought this new update was very good. I find all the new buttons easy now, even if it were hard at the beginning.

I really like it :)

I really didn't care about the change. The pictures look a lot better now. I am the person who can adapt to change rather easily. The emotes are a whole lot better cause you can see what you do before you do it. IT is the best interface i have seen in runescape.

I have gotten used to it, but the run button is a pain. I liked it better when it was the other kind. The emotes are nice though because you can see what they look like. This is an "english as a second language" friendly system.

i always happen to click the emote button instead of the place where the run is @ and no i still liked the old better

Ive always liked the new one, except when run was all the way at the top of the tools screen ( ok not ALL the way, but in the center)

I still don't like the location of the run button, but i'm getting used to it

Come to #tip-it on Swift IRC, if you're cool

its okay, i still don't like the run button...it changed from the player interface to the option interface, so im used to clicking the player interface to run

Retired from runescape. I will be on every now and then though. :)

IMO, pressing the Ctrl on keyboard, then clicking the place u want to run to, is easier than selecting the "run" button on the interface~ hope that helps?

As they say...If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Meaning if its working fine how it is then there is no need to fuss about changing it if people like it how it is.

By all means, Jagex, in my opinion should of made it a sharper and better looking design but they shouldn't of messed around with the buttons and their locations and where the combat level is now and all. It was good and working fine how it was in the first place, so I am still against the changes. Even though I wasn't one expressing my dislike at it when it first came out, I let the others do that for me.

they are all fine... and the run button is no prob anymore... but sometimes when i want to run too fast i probemly click on the log off button :s i did that about 3 times a day

i dont play anymore... i think rs is ruined

Don't like the new compass or the dang emote page still. Everything else seems fine now. Cause they were nice enough to change the run button and that ugly orange text.

I got used to it eventually..

Just hate it and move on

I like everything but the emotes, I still don't know what picture belongs to what emote.

99 Slayer since August 2007.

I'm STILL not used to the emotes, like cocacolabottle said. It's so frustrating when it takes FOREVER just to find the 'laugh' emote or something... :wall:
