BlueLancer
..If they seriously introduce Texas hold'em (preferably no-limit) with bettable Runescape GP, even if it's just for users verifiably over 18, I will love RS and come back from years of retirement. And oh, nevermind the violence, killing and murder quests in RuneScape. Gambling ruins the world! It's just a game, get over it. And I'd seriously come back for that update. FastForce
Age doesn't matter, a good percentage of kids lie about their age anyway TipIt poll Which age bracket do you fall into? 14% said they were under 13. At this time RuneScape is limited to users aged 13 and older. Road To Trimmed Completionist

You play against other players which means Jagex has no advantage, somebody must always win (and it can't be the dealer because he doesn't play). Unless there is a GP fee to play the games. tripsis
i dont support gambling. thatll ruin the medival purpose in runescape :| Agreed. I've always liked the whole medieval aspect of Runescape. With recent updates (the whole balloon form of transportation  ), I feel as if it's already fading. Decedenthope
i dont support gambling. thatll ruin the medival purpose in runescape :| um...if I remember correctly., one of the major ways for soldiers to pass the time was to play card games. also people bet on different things such as chess... my idea on it sis they add mroe games to games room(3 games for how big the game room is :wall: and allow people to bid money(1k-100k limit) against whoever they play against. would draw more people there and bring back a bit of fun to runescape besides killing stuff and training stuff. Killed Hobgoblin Champion: 1/28/07 The economy is run by 13 year olds. Inflation hits when their girlfriends dump them. Besides, in any normal economy an influx of new items is a good shot in the arm.

aoe325
so, do you think there should be any form of gambling in runescape, such as betting on duels or anything like that? post your opinons here The betting on duel thing looks nice at first but it could asilly be exploited. lvl 69 vs lvl 100 in full dragon + whip Everyone : Omg im betting all my cash on the level 100 ill be rich! some guy: *on level 60* level 100 turns off auto-reliate and take off armor, dies. *the 3 guys share the money of the scam* Quest cape obtained at combat level 83, march 07. jjrox32
Ya, I think that they should let you bet on games in the games room. That place is so useless, nobody ever goes there. As a money drain idea, what if they charged you to get into an games against other people tourny, which would cost 100k to enter. Then if you lost, too bad. If you won, you'd get something very rare. But when you think about it, it would/could be a big money drain. If there were 32 people in a tourny, and they lasted abou 10 minutes.. then that's what, 19.2m drained from one touney an hour? If there were a lot of tournaments going on at the same time, it'd drain huge amounts of cash.

Unitedite
As far as i can see in the relevant Act (the 2005 Gambling Act) there is no age restriction people gambling for something that is neither money nor "moneys worth". Mmm, having said that, if it was in a member's area then perhaps it could be considered 'betting' as the definition of a prize in betting is more general - "any money, articles or services". I'm not certain, but i have a feeling that if the gambling was a p2p element of the game you'd have to be over 18, and if it was f2p there'd be no age restriction. In a little hilltop village they gambled for my clothesI bargained for salvation and they gave me a lethal doseI offered up my innocence, I got repaid with scorn"Come in'', she said, "I'll give you shelter from the storm"

petert1985
I think the games room should be extended into a casino. I <3 poker. Then they would be forced to raise the minimum age to 18. But yeah it WOULD own. No they wouldn't. It's not real money. Ex: Kids can gamble at arcades with tokens. All games that involve gambling are 18+... Even for PS2 so pokemon games are 18+ lol? they have gambling in. IRC.RSCRIPT.ORG #STATS join us. we dont bite too hard.
iamtest
They shouldn't have all out gambling because it would probably promote the players to gamble in real life. Theres two problems to that. 1. A lot of Runescape players are too young to gamble in real life and could result in bad behavior. 2. Adults could gamble and loose all their money and have to cancel their Runescape membership. x 1000 Aspiring 99 Hunter
