Also, the number of party hats will not go up.
December 17, 200619 yr They been going up slowly since they came out 3-4 years ago. Unlike dragon armour, they keep getting more and more rare (dragon armour comes from monster drops, while party hats came from a one time only drop). The reason most people are buying them these days is to get richer, they see it as an investment, so the demand for party hats keep going up and up.

The true currency is in the gold and silver. I suppose it would be similar if you compared it to the fact that there will always be some player that is willing to pay that amount of money for a party hat. And how why does it matter if party hats are just paper? Everything in RS is just made of pixels, and has no relation to real life, so it doesn't matter if it's just paper in real life, because it's entirely different in Runescape. Just like the fact you can eat a shark in one bite, and you can actually catch a shark by fishing fron a dock.

December 17, 200619 yr The reason y they r so xpensive is: they were a the 1st ever christmas drop waaay bac in Christmas 2002 (correct me if im wrong..pretty sure im right) u cant get anymore (unless from other players)..many ppl with phats just gave up playing over a period of time therefore a decrease in hats, which increases the rariety of them...After 4 years, they r really rare 2 get, as u can c now with the price.

Sometimes people relise who worthless peicies of paper are, for eample in the Russian revoloution where the people were paying for bread with wheelbarows of cash, this happened because the gov. were jus printing loads of piecies of paper (money) and it did not symbolise anything and there were more of them floating about.. which means haveing that piec of paper is not a special thing at all... same prnciple aplies with the p hats, if we say there were 3000 of them in the game then that number of them is never going to go up, however it can drop with players losing them, which makes then rarer if they get rarer then people will pay more because theres no way of getting the item other than paying the guy for it, now if all the people who owned a hat decided to sell at 5000bilion gp then thats what u have to pay but whoever sells lowest is what peps are prepared to pay, and seeing as theres only bout 300 peps that have a blue p hat then they all decided that its guna cost millions for it, nothing the buyer can do about it if no one is willing to pay less
