no_username4
Well... A few months ago I posted a comment in a thread(I think they one asking for more f2p bank space). I said, quite jokingly, that pretty soon holiday events will go members. Amazingly, it happened. Seriously, holiday events always struck me as fun events, that anyone can do. No real purpose or reuirements. Now, there's a significant difference if you're a member. I know, I know. "pay the five bucks" or whatever. But really, after awhile, I can actually see the events going primarily p2p, with a small portion for f2pers. Don't tell me to go buy it, I'm not. It's just runescape used to be a great game, payed for or not. Runescape f2p used to be a game in itself. Now, I'm feeling more and more like I'm playing a demo. I realize that we're lucky to have a free game at all. I realize five bucks isn't that much. But I'm not buying p2p. This game is Jagex's to take away, I just never thought they would. aznmidget448
Yeah, I don't like the feeling that we're playing a demo version of Runescape. I'm kind of mad at Jagex because they have taken pretty much everything from free to play and made it all pay to play.
darkmage099
Well I don't see f2pers growing trees. Do you? It's because it only fits p2p. If they wanted to make trees f2p, they would have to let them construct their own houses. Then, we can extend this argument to the whole f2p does not pay Jagex. This is true, therefore they should not introduce construction to f2p. And you lose. Trix.--quit WoW as of 12/07Thank you 4be2jue for the wonderful sig and avatar! tripsis
Well I've always thought that F2P kind of was the demo version of Runescape. I mean sure, a couple years ago F2P and P2P weren't a whole lot different. But F2P has always been the 'minimal' version of P2P, which is, in my opinion, a demo. Although, I wouldn't be surprised if Jagex was getting more and more money hungry. I mean look how huge Runescape is now. There are millions of members, and about 800k-1m of which are paying members. I wouldn't be surprised if they were just trying to get more F2P players over to P2P to make more money :P Or, of all things, use that money to help expand/fund the game. horcrux
I can see the tree working just fine. just use it as you would a yoyo, with options like: "use tree, decorate tree, destroy tree, cancel".

jjrox32
I can see the tree working just fine. just use it as you would a yoyo, with options like: "use tree, decorate tree, destroy tree, cancel". No offence, but that is possibly the dumbest idea ever.... how would you "use" a tree? That would be a very useless item. The only options that a christmas tree would have is decorate, and who would give a thought about that? You'd use it once or twice, then destroy it, like the reindeer mask. Even if you gave f2p the tree, then what would it be used for? Where would you put it? The only place you can plant it is in a POH, so if you gave f2p the tree, you'd have to give them construction as well.
Stilev
do the f2p people that get the raindeer(sp) right now say in a month they finally get members, do you think they will be able to get the x-mas tree from dinago if they do? either way i really dont see the big deal, f2p still got to do the event, and f2p is a demo, should be happy to get something at all imo
hellbellz
Well F2P doesn't pay, yes, your playing a demo. 'nuff said.
the49ronin
as some quite well know, i used to be a member but had to stop payment due to someone stealing my mother's identity and credit card number and finally it's resolved and will be getting membership back january (it would have been this december but most of the time i will be in london) so by the time i get back i won't be able to get the tree for members. Unless, does anyone know if you do event now and become member later, you still can put tree up? <the49ronin> O_o methinks ard is acting mighty high and pretty -.- <Ard_Choille> I am pretty <Ard_Choille> fo shizzle
jaskkes
F2P can't use POH's (obviously) thats why you didn't get the tree. The head gear looks hawt though/
sohkmj1
..... im not sure wat to say being f2p, jagex wont change much of the game cos if the dun give f2p updates, members wouldnt come out of the f2pers and jagex would be broke.(that means, i support) not suggesting u be a member yeah , i cant be a member, i have major exams next year so...i think i may have to w8 till im older the we ll see (*hopes jagex doesnt go broke*) btw dun take it on him p2pers not all of the f2pers r bad even p2pers can be bad (6/6/06, scammers (yes there r scammers on p2p) and lurers which r the most common)
g_u_t_h_i_x
This is gonna end up a problem, I agree, I can see p2p getting more and more, but JaGeX has to expand in some way, and I guess that's how they are gonna do it...
Gibush
It's not as if p2pers are "better" than f2p, I do think f2pers deserve a few updates. I mean, sure, I'd love to be a member, but them giving p2pers all the stuff doesen't make me wanna join them. It makes me resent them a little. "This game is Jagex's to take away, I just never thought they would." How true, lets just hope they aren't getting terribly greedy, I think that would ruin them. Lets also hope it hasn't started. :boohoo:
Shadowx8
i agree, f2pers arent getting 'nuff stuff to do. I am a member in runescape and i happily go to free to play worlds to buy items such as logs, but then i have to log to members world to fletch, or if i buy planks i got to log to build my house, or i want to pk got to log to use my good mage or range equipment. And Hunter... its such a sad skill to have why cant it be for non-members to, all u do is catch furry little animals. F2Pers need more skills to do. Sometimes when i log to members world it like i just started a demo of runescape and it is really sad. Poor F2Pers.... :(
Kill_Life
Don't bother. I'm an f2p, and I don't care. Cause from what I heared: When you are f2p now, and you become member within like 1 year. You can still get that tree. If you completed the event now, member or f2p doesn't matter. Toxicologist
From what I've seen, the Tree wasn't much to look at anyway. Then again, neither did the Camo Suit when it first came out. Now it looks quite good, and has become quite a rare sight... Why do you resist? badlilmonkey
Wow u guys are making me feel badd....but in RS Classic (i was in, first year of RS), there are EXTREMELY little difference between ftp and ptp...so most people chose ftp over ptp. now they need the money after years of loss, so i guess they're kind of dumping ftp :boohoo: (last sentence may not be a true fact....just my opinion.) :anxious:
SwreeTak
You're absolutly right! Soon we will probalby just have a little island out in the sea were all our F2P world lies... Add me if you so wish: SwreeTak

raylifes
Why bother, they're probably gonna melt when the event is over anyways.... As to the topic, I'm a member, yet I feel f2p should get all the benefits of a holiday event too. Not because f2p'ers are so sad or anything, but I think the holiday event is a day to celebrate and have fun for anyone. :D And it's not like the tree is good to look at. :P

I remember playing it once when I was f2p! Whats up with that? It's like they're takin away our privelages. :boohoo:
