December 21, 200619 yr There is a major search issue...common when doing searches with SQL databases. Try searching for anything with a ' in it. Example: Guthan's platebody The above is exactly how it's listed in the database but when you try to search for it that way (with the ') you get the following SQL error: You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near 's%'AND `show` = '1'ORDER BY `name` ASC' at line 1 In a world without fences, who needs GATES?
December 21, 200619 yr That's right, and we do not plan on adding street price anytime soon. Item prices fluctuate too much, and it would be too labour-intensive to keep the database up to date with the most current street prices. We do not want to be held responsible for any decisions made by users based on street prices that may be outdated. No offence, but it sounds like a cop out. If you won't have street prices I will stick to runehq's Item's Database. It may be a bit out dated, but at least it gives you a ball park figure. They also have a disclaimer that the street prices can and will vary. In a world without fences, who needs GATES?
December 21, 200619 yr It has been made very clear from the start, that we wouldn't include street prices. Please be my guest to use any items database that offers a street price. But if you really want it to be accurate, you just do a search on the RS.com forums or check the price guide on there. No offense to our colleagues, I admire them for their attempt to uphold the street prices, but I am quite sure that more than half of them are way off the current price... I know what I know and what I know might well not be what you want to know but then seeing as only I know what I know and you do not know what I know then you will not know if what I know is what you would like to know
December 21, 200619 yr Yes, if you want a price guide go to Zybez. With so many trees in the city you could see the spring coming each day until a night of warm wind would bring it suddenly in one morning. Sometimes the heavy cold rains would beat it back so that it would seem that it would never come and that you were losing a season out of your life. But you knew that there would always be the spring as you knew the river would flow again after it was frozen. When the cold rains kept on and killed the spring, it was as though a young person had died for no reason. In those days though the spring always came finally but it was frightening that it had nearly failed.
December 21, 200619 yr for a street price use a conjunction of zybez and the official forums, those being the most up to date the item database is all well and good, except for the itsy bitsy tinyyy problem of the fact i helped out (i did the sea slug quest, not much but something) yet my name is on none of the items i have done.... slightly dissapointing, in fact i still have the pm that said "of course you will be credited, otherwise it would be stealing" :-k if this topic is not the place to solve this (i realise my pedancy) then could a mod please pm me, thanks
December 21, 200619 yr Yes, if you want a price guide go to Zybez. NO WAY IN [bLEEP] AM I GOING THERE!!! They are the home of that Illegal Client with the initials "SS" that I can not name because of the word filter here on Tip.It ... Personally, I think "Zybez" should be filtered out also. :notalk: ~Mr. Devnull and normally with a cool mind.(Warning: This user can be VERY confusing to some people... And talks in 3rd person for the timebeing due to how insane they are... Sometimes even to themself.)
December 21, 200619 yr Author Please, this is not the place to start comparing fansites. Please stay on topic. And by the way, if you want a price guide, there IS one available right here on our forums: http://forum.tip.it/viewtopic.php?t=529047 Remember, the SEARCH button is your friend. Use it!
December 21, 200619 yr I take back what I said on the post the other day about not mentioning the people with the Item Researching :( Thanks for the add on Tip.It Times. I'm glad that Tip.It released the Item Database. It now does have an edge over every other fansite :D It sucked to join Tip.It Forums right when everyone left!:x Nice article. 10/10 =D> PS ~ Rest In Peace, Shiva.

December 21, 200619 yr It's good, but I'm not sure if you fixed it, and if it was only the one, but the Cape of Thieving is non-members apparently.
December 21, 200619 yr if this doesn't launch Tip.It into the number one place of RuneScape fansites, then the world will cry. proud quest cape ownerhere's my first post on the TIF (scroll to the bottom)feel free to pm me, but do make sure that i know you're a Tip.It user (in other words, give me a HYT)
December 21, 200619 yr I am very happy that tip it released an items guide. I know you said that keeping the street prices updated would be too hard, but you could just update the frequently bought things. I'm still gonna go to runehq for items, sorry. Otherwise great job. The compare thing could be very useful so I'll be using that. PS: Now that you have your items database you can update your extremely out of date world map. That would be another 1 up on other fan sites. I would put a cool link here but I don't know how.
December 22, 200619 yr Good job Tip.It, didn't know this took over a year! Amazing how much effort they put into it. I think you should add a price guide link to the database. Would make it easy. Good article, good job.
December 22, 200619 yr YAAAAY! I'm so happy it's out! And I'm proud to have worked alongside Bambino and mpm on this. :) Good job, everyone. If I wasn't a minor, it'd be beers on me.

December 22, 200619 yr I just want to congratulate the crew and all the other persons involved in this ambitious project! I have an idea of the amount of work involved ;) and I'm very happy you have achieved this milestone! I simply hope the tip.it community will acknowledge the effort put into it and the result obtained, it's really amazing! Congratulations again! =D> Oh, and for the "anonymous" author of the times article, I'm glad your idea worked out in the end. Good work, gratz! 103 combat | 1M+ xp in each skill (lvl73) | 1800+ skill total | quest capeLevel 86 herblore, 85 farming
December 22, 200619 yr I'm very proud of everyone who worked on the database!!!!! I also loved the artice. :) Quote Rule #1 clearly states, "Do NOT confuse Newpy!" Only 19 years to get to level 99 in something. Mining, check. Moving right along ... Catch me if you can! 🤣 Always buying silver ore at above GE prices!
December 22, 200619 yr A nicely done items database, definately better than others Thou I do see some slight faults, I decided to check item I submitted, and noted only 1 of the two fractured crystals is listed blue crystal lost it capital b all the colour crystals lost thier examines and some of the me2 items had lost the me2 link But in a project so big some slight flaws have to be expected to begin with, so great job tip.it crew at getting it all sorted Operation Gold Sparkles :: Chompy Kills :: Full Profound :: Champions :: Barbarian Notes :: Champions Tackle Box :: MA RewardsDragonkin Journals :: Ports Stories :: Elder Chronicles :: Boss Slayer :: Penance King :: Kal'gerion Titles :: Gold Statue
December 22, 200619 yr Wowz... Finaly on the net is it :D I'v seen it and used it before... For the mistakes, sorry guys. There are about 5 crewbies and 50 researchers working on it, and there are over 5000 items. Do you expact us to have 'em al correctly right from the start :o that is undoable. Just be patient, send in comments. The more ppl use it, the more mistakes get found, and removed. Very nice to see my name in a Tip.It times article atlast  :P And hey, it can and wil get better and bigger. Hopefully we can all use it with great fun Im happy its finaly out, and great idea to dedicate an article to it. Wil even give it more attention. Perhaps a stats-compare is an option... like say you would like to see how the stats of a rune kite and obby shield compare... Keep up the good work crew and the rest of you researchers... SALUTI, Djub -=[ Once, a researcher of the weird and wonderfull items in runescape ]=- You cannot do all you want. You have to make choises. I made the right one, hopefully, so will you!
December 22, 200619 yr Mmm, database is cool enough but Im not so keen on articles written as stories, they just bug, lol  sorry. (im not saying its a bad article, on the contray it is very useful and well written - im just not so keen on the style.. if that makes sense) Also, another bad point, I wasnt listed anywhere in the article, and everyone knows me  jokes, good job
December 22, 200619 yr Yay!!!! :D Now all we need is a Tip.it clan! You already know why Tip.It won't do that, being that it was discussed in another article... Please don't shove on the issue. :? ~Mr. Devnull and normally with a cool mind.(Warning: This user can be VERY confusing to some people... And talks in 3rd person for the timebeing due to how insane they are... Sometimes even to themself.)
December 22, 200619 yr The only reason I didn't use tip.it as my only Runescape help site, was that it was missing one massive pack of information that I tend to use often. What is that you might ask, you probly figured it out that it was indeed an item database! now that tip.it has it, this will be the only, and THE best runescape help site on the web. The other site with a good item database on is very hard to browse. Mostly because it has such a high amount of trafic that it takes 5 mins + to load every page. Tip.it however, loads instantly when I click on any link. THANK YOU VERY MUCH TO EVERY ONE TO WORKED ON THIS! It is MUCH better than all the other sites with on, so many more features, 100% acurate information! High-alching that REALLY expensive item in my inventory looks more and more tempting with every beer I drink.
December 23, 200619 yr Good Job Guys  So much better than RuneHQ. Loads faster, is clearer, and the compare function is great. When you've got the faults ironed out, we'll have one of the best databases about =D> Private Chat Is Always On 10,183rd To 99 Fletching
