November 16, 200718 yr Wakka, you and I have the same programs/needs, and what bac said is very true. I have Vista home premium, and it is way better than any O/S out there. The bad reputation it got when it was released were only because Mac probably hired people to find little bugs, and little bugs as in small graphical errors. This was fixed by the summer mind you. And it is very reliable. The only program so far to glitch on me is windows movie maker, which has a faulty source code anyways, and it only fr0ze on me, so nothing to worry. The laptop he suggested is a great one for what you need. Mac's get viruses, already there is over 20k viruses for the mac O/S, small compared ot the millions of viruses(some of theses viruses only kill certain programs, not the entire O/S, or are mostly keyloggers). Buying a different O/S doesn't mean you have to be less careful. It's like buying a door for your house, the door may seem stronger, yet if you don't lock it at night, it won't protect you. Stick with Microsoft products, as said before Mac's suck huge time with games, its horrible compatibility. But since runescape is java based, there shouldn't be any problems, but still windows should prove better. Safari is a crap web browser in my opinion, and if that's the default web browser you get with Mac's, then it's my new #1 reason not to buy a Mac. Plus a PC/Windows cost at least 600 dollars U.S. less than a Mac equal to that computer. And as Bac said Mac's will crash and won't give you a reason. It makes you go to a Tech Shop, and pay money, even if the problem was a corrupted file, which you could restore with some simple free help from here at Tip.It. also as Bac said, doing certain things on Mac's only take one click as it would take 3 clicks on a windows O/S. This may seem helpful, but it is extremely annoying as I tested this out at a convention at my school. The IQ they are aiming for is more like 10. I don't remember a lot about the Mac from two months ago, but Bac sure is reminding me. It is insanely fast, and as Bac said, the screen quality is amazing. I had an hp before this one (same thing but a year old now) that I passed on to my assistant. Vista is not terribly different from XP, but it is much better. It is a great choice for sure. I am not a computer person, but i'll try to answer any questions you may have. I also have an external hard drive for it, but that is only because I have a total of 4 computers (2 desktops, 2 laptops), all in 3 different buildings (home, work, assistants home). It really does not need any upgrades or extra hard drive at all. It is a great choice if you can afford it. I am not a skiller, but i do some skills.

I think I'll just wait a bit longer for some better parts to insure I'm happy with it. I should be able to save up enough by christmas (work/money I get from my parents for christmas), I balanced my checkbook and I've currently got about 766$, so christmas seems like I should have enough by then.

It's just a matter of getting to know where all the monsters are located and trying to devise ways to get to them as quickly as possible. i guess the best advice I can give is memorize the locations of monsters and don't spend a lot of time jumping from assignment to assignment. Get the assignment and get right to killing, do NOT linger around, it'll go much quicker that way. Use cannon balls whenever possible. Ignore tasks you can't use a whip on. ALWAYS change metal dragon tasks (if you're seriously training the skill up).

The amount of time you need to actually get the drop, or the amount of time you spend trying to get the drop puts you in the negatives of exp you could have gained not going to them, the time you could have saved and possibly more money from other drops. It is impractical to do metal dragons as a slayer task, exp wise.
