January 1, 200719 yr Doom Which is so evident by your sig. :P I enjoy Age of Empires II alot. i must agree there - i think AoE was the best game of its time and along with the expansion, the series peaked there... i all the campaigns on that game - and the multiplayer kicked [wagon]
January 1, 200719 yr Final Fantasy Tactics Advanced Ivalice, Jagds, Classes, it's awesome. Can't wait for the sequel
January 1, 200719 yr Sim games were probably the ones I logged the most time on. Spore will probably be my favourite game of all time once I get my hands on it. The popularity of any given religion today depends on the victories of the wars they fought in the past. - Me!
January 1, 200719 yr I can't possibly limit my self to "one" game, so i'm going to do genres. FPS [PC]: Half life. What more is there to say? An amazing story, great gameplay and has hosted some of the best mods to grace this earth, even years after its release. FPS [Console]: Goldeneye. The true king of multiplayer, IMO. I've had so many fun moments running through this game with friends. RPG [PC]: Bualders Gate II: Just.. wow. 200 hours worth of gameplay spanning 4 CD's, and thats "if" you don't play all the side content! It has one of the most engaging story's I've played through from a PC game and the gameplay was fun and hard. RPG [Console]: Chrono Trigger. Forget Final Fantasy, Chrono Trigger completly decimates it. While I said Baulders Gate II had the best "PC" gaming storyline, Chrono Trigger has just simply the best story ever told for an RPG. There are so many unforgettable moments [Finding out who Lavos is, ect ect] and it turns out to be a grand game. It also hosts one of the damned hardest boss battles I have ever witnessed and, even for an RPG at its time, has a huge replayablity factor. Simply amazing. MMORPG: Ultima Online. I can't speak much about it because I never got to sit down and just play it, but from all the time spent at my friends house playing the game it hands down was the best MMORPG experience there was to offer. Full loot open PvP, amazing battles between reds [pk'ers] and blues [pkk'ers]. The game deffinitly was unlike its opposite, EverQuest, but it paved the way for the sandbox games of today. [which sadly there aren't any good sandbox games out there (minus EVE which is a snore-fest :P) so I'm playing WoW]. I'm looking foward to this game getting a graphical "AND" UI makeover sometime next year, and the implication of a Pre-Trammel server. =D> Don't think I can really think of anything else, because those 3 are my 'favorite' genres. Those are also the games that, in my opinion, deffined those genres for what they are today, and are some of the bests that "any" fan of the genre should play at least once.
January 2, 200719 yr A lot of the original N64 games, Super Smash Brothers might be the ultimate game to play in your friends basement with each other, I can remember playing 18 hours in my friends basement on New Years Eve and New Years, there were 4 of us Another classic is Super Mario 64, this might be the greatest game in history. It had great graphics and an AMAZING story line. For a FPS I would choose Perfect Dark, I might be one the best people in the world at that game. On vacations to my grand parents house I would sit upstairs playing the entire time The world would be a whole lot better if little green men in UFO's came down to earth to abduct rednecks.
January 2, 200719 yr Conkers Bad Fur Day. No single game has ever kept me as into it as that game has. the graphics, the story, the jokes, the characters, the controls, the sound, the replayability, all perfect. sure it was hard as hell, and it might be hard for some people to get through some parts (coughbeeandsunflowersexscenecough). but that was one of the things that made it truely amazing. Sigs made by Runemetsa, Nuzza, Dark_Shadow, Kuroi and Me.liquid blobs attacking eachother American Anime... YAY!
January 2, 200719 yr wow, are people stupid? SUPER MARIO BROTHERS (original) ...yes I'm a bit of a retro gamer. But really, without that game, where would be today? other good ones include Mario 64, KOTOR, and SimCity. and Smash Brothers for multi-player.

January 2, 200719 yr N64 had a lot of amazing games, I saw a few ones that I thought were very good. Super Smash Brothers, Banjo Kazooie(sp?), Super Mario 64 were all good, but Zelda:Ocarina of Time is probably on the top 5 for greatest game ever. Such a good storyline, and very challenging, which I like in games. PS2 had some good games too. GTA Vice City and San Andreas were VERY good. I just got Tony Hawk Project 8 today, and I have to say that it is probably the best in the very successful series of Tony Hawk games. I've played every single game in that series, and this is one of the better ones if not the best one. 122 Combat : 99 Hits : 99 Attack : 99 Strength97/99 Defence : 99 Fletching : 99 Woodcutting

Chrono Trigger is a close second place for me. That game is a legend. Metal fans, check out my band!Still the King....
January 2, 200719 yr Final Fantasy VII Masterpiece storyline. Oh Lord I love that game. I have never yet completed it... shh. I started it back when it first came out. Yes I was very immature, renamed all the characters to "fat man", "slag", "ragamuf" (seeing as I couldn't fit in raggamuffin...), "madman", "napyhair", "irie"... Yeah um I have no idea when people talk about this game WHOM they are referring to... SHH HUT YUH MUH. DERKHED.
January 2, 200719 yr okay I cant reely put them all into the same catagory so heer we go. Counsel #1: Super mario Brothers 3. awsome graphics for its time and extreemly good replayability. dispite trying for years I have never defeated king bowser only came close once. #2: super mario world. #3: yoshies Island, after years I still come back to play it over and over again very fun and buetyfull graphics. #4: Super mario 64. RTS #1: Homeworld. the origanal was a major break thrugh in RTS game play and the story line was great. the fact that after nearly 8 years it still has a strong online following and quite a few clans proves it. #2: this is hard to say, on one hand we have the origanal ground controll haveing awsome battle effects, and a great story line dispite its age and graphics that satisfy even today. on the other we have Midevial Total War. #3: I cant say it must be a tie between the origanal stronghold and strong hold crusader. Simulation: Star Wars tie fighter beets the compitition hands down as the greatest ship simulation game of all time. my only regret is theres no 2.0 FPS: #1: Call of duty. when I first played it sevrall years ago I was almost convinced I was one of the conscripts charging unarmed into a wall of machine gun fire. #2: Star trek voyeger Eliet Force. a rather uniqe story line and rather good graphics for its day. its sequel dosent come close in story telling or suspence. thats all that I can think of that I have played and am willing to say define my idea of Gameing. January 2, 200719 yr FPS - Goldeneye. I loved playing that game so much. Too bad my controlers are old and don't work well enough to play :( RPG - FFXII. Possibly one of my favorite games of all time.. MMORPG - Shadowbane. Before this game, I only knew MMORPGs to be lots of boring crap with a little PvP. This game was PvP or you suck. January 2, 200719 yr Wolfenstein 3D, Doom (1, 2 and Ultimate) Best. FPS'. EVAR. GOD YES!!! DOOM 2 IS THE [cabbage]. I also really enjoyed playing the metal gear series, particularly 2 and 3. In-depth storyline and awesome, sometimes extremely tense gameplay.
January 2, 200719 yr Wolfenstein 3D, Doom (1, 2 and Ultimate) Best. FPS'. EVAR. I love you, Wolfenstein sometimes scares the hell out of me. Damned zombies, as for Doom... Rocks :D. Only problem with my rtcw atm that I lost the keygen, Can't play online anymore :|. Agreed for the post above mine, Metal gear where one of the best games to :XD: .
January 2, 200719 yr The most impressive game I ever played was Sonic The Hedgehog on the Genesis. Yeah, it was over a decade ago, but it was such a MASSIVE leap in gaming technology, I was blown away. All I thought was "Wow, this is soooo fast the the graphics...." Well my jaw hit the floor and I've never been so impressed since.
January 2, 200719 yr For the PC, definitely Half Life, Warcraft II and III, Command and Conquer, Sim City, X-Wing/TIE Fighter...my list could probably go on. As for console games, all Super Mario games, Super Smash Bros, Halo.
January 2, 200719 yr Author Lol, Mario has to take the cake for one of the most addicting games of all time. Includes a small rpg element(you have to gain "upgrades" to do more damage), intresting gameplay, different level designs so not everything is boring. : "A time comes when silence is betrayal" MLKJ Speak your mind, but be civil.Get mad, but do not rage.Do unto others as you would want done to yourself. January 3, 200719 yr Actually a more modern example I can think of for me was Breath of Fire III, it had such brilliant characters and puzzles. I loved that game, but could not beat the final boss. Whenever I would train, in the last dungeon, it'd train too much and end up dying.

If that's the one your talking about, yes AMAZING game. :P KAW
January 3, 200719 yr I couldn't possibly pick only 1 game. That's why gaming is so good: it's so varied and there's no set formula for what a game can and can't have. That's why it's my favourite form of art. So I pick 4 games, for entirely different reasons (the only thing they have in common is that they are aimed at adults). 1. Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas...I've explained before, I think even in the last week, why this is quite possibly the high-point of video-gaming. This takes way too much flak from so called "experts" in gaming. I'm not even going to go into it again...But this is, and will be for the forseeable future, the high point of gaming. 2. Planescape: Torment. Best. Story. Ever. (I'm currently playing Chrono Trigger [don't ruin this for me Nadril], followed by FF7 in order to be able to better back up my claim...I just can't see it being any better than this). The story is better than any book, movie or game I've ever experienced. And even though it's a teen rated game, and there's no real reason a 12 year old couldn't play it, they shouldn't play it. The story is mature; you wouldn't be able to fully appreciate it, with all it's philosophical beauty, dark atmosphere, morbid happenings and truly interesting twists. The rest of the game is good, but the story elevates this to a point where few games will ever be able to reach it, and I don't think such a unique story is what the current and future video game execs are going to gamble with, so this may just be the all time best piece of writing in gaming. 3. Unreal Tournament: I'm talking original. This game is just...So well done. There's no real story, no characters...It's just easily THE BEST game for FPS gameplay. Half-Life series? Psssh. They're Good. Just nowhere near Unreal good. It's, simply put, never been matched before or since in terms of smoothness; it just feels right. Rather than clunkily moving your person around, it's almost like an extension of yourself. Competent graphics (even today), some of the best AI ever seen (with sick voice taunts), and dozens of amazing levels, this simply is my favourite FPS ever. 4. This is more of an honorable mention, but Max Payne 2: The Fall of Max Payne is simply an excellent combination of the above. Outstanding amounts of fun, a well-written, mature story, and fantastic gameplay. And style to spare. 5. Dark Forces gets note too, because it made me a life long PC game fan, and is better than Doom. Take that, Doom fans.
