Yes, it deserves lots of respect. It's the easiest of the capes but still a great achievement. It especially deserves respect if you don't have those skills, and if you do have those skills I would expect you to respect it because you know how hard it is.

any 99 skill is great... same as everyone is saying i suppose... :-#

skills like slayer takes more time to get to 99, buying the supplies to get 99 isnt as hard.

70-74 in 2 hours =). enough raw lobs for 90 atm.

2 weeks? 3 weeks tops? and you can get them every easily, and they cost next to nothing, no they dont demand any respect...8k people have it, what more can i say.

If 1 see a level 99 skiller I look at their other related skills. Typical sets are fishing and cooking, smithing and mining, farming and herblore (lots of high herblore skillers grow herbs), woodcutting and fletching etc. Anyone in this category gets a lot of respect from me as they have played the game in the way it was intended.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

On the other hand if you see a level 99 skiller with low related skills level, then obviously they have "bought" their 99 skil. Anyone in this category does get respect from me, but not as much as in the those described above.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Finally, anyone with combat skills of 99, but no other skill levels to speak of will get no respect from me, as any idiot can wander around killing everything in sight (or play PC for a few hours).

I have tons of respect for any 99 cape... although with cooking and fletching, I'm not really in awe when I see them. I think they're too common for that... but still, lots of respect.

i agree about the related skills a 99 cook with 60 fish doesn't really impress me as much...i have 85 cooking as my highest i did buy some of the expierience but most of it was gained through fishing the stuff i cooked. only thing i bought was 79-85 before that was all fishing my stuff. and i plan on gaining more fishing exp for cooking.

I'm proud of my Fletching cape, and I don't care if you think it deserves respect or not. :)

yes they do, they worked hard for it.

I have a skill thats 73 , and ranked 2100.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

I'd prefer to have that ranking then 99 cooking with a ranking of say 4000.

people say there is 8,000 fletching capes. and there is 3million runescape players. so 0.26% of people have one, id say that its quite the achievement

Abyssal whip i'd say you give respect to whatever you choose, you don't have to agree with everyone else on it.

If you can justify giving respect to a person for being able to dedicate more time on the computer playing RS than you, then I suppose you should respect them all.

Any 99 skill is a great accomplishment..

Not that they don't deserve great respect as they still put a lot of effort into it, but someone with lvl 99 fishing for example, clearly worked much harder and therefore deserves more respect.

Getting any skill to 99 deserves SOME amount of respect.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

However, that amount of respect was significantly higher in the past, and continues to decrease as more and more people get to 99(s).

99 cooking/fletching is a great achievement :D , but maybe just not so great as for example crafting or other skills.

They deserve respect yes, however they aren't getting it anymore because of the sheer amount of them. The people I feel sorry for (like a friend of mine) who got 99 cooking in Runescape Classic isn't respected anymore. Before 'cook x' cooking was a challenge, now, well its a different story.

Whilst I respect ANY level 99 skill, I must admit level 99 cooking, and fletching are not as equally respectable.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

They are both the easiest skill to reach the level 99 in, well...... Firemaking is possibly the easiest, but as it is useless, its not a common target.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Skills that can be bought, that offers a high xp:time ratio, and then can offer a high GP reward is hard to respect.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

I feel the most respected 99 skills are:

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

-smithing

 

 

 

-RuneCrafting

 

 

 

-Herblore

 

 

 

-Mining

 

 

 

-and Farming.

And you aren't one of those 8,000. You barely have enough total xp for one 99, thanks to your 93 fletching. Sorry but I can't respect you then =;

To be honest; yes those capes are fairly common, but you really don't see to many 'noobs', by definition, wearing them. (yes you see the occasional level 3 skiller). No matter the 99 skill, it takes a LOT of hard work and dedication; does it relly matter that cooking and fletching takes a lot less dedication than a skill like slayer? That just means slayer is a more respected 99 skill, not that slayer is respected and cooking and fletching are not.
