Zaaps1
And idea for the quest, it's called Elemental Secret. [hide=The Quest, rather long] The point is after you've got 30 magic, you can talk to the wizard Seridor in Wizard's Tower. You ask him to use more advanced magic. He says that for him to show you that, you must prove that you have mastered all other forms of magic. First, he requires you to get him 4 pure air runes. This can only be obtained by purifying any ordinary rune essence (pure ess will skip this part, so it is easier more members), to do this you must ....(idk here)... to make the es become pure ess. This feature will be removed once you finish the quest. Bring the ess to the air altar (only druing the quest will crafting airs become pure air runes). You must have runecrafting (44 or 55) to do this part of the quest. Next you must show him that you have mastered every element. To do this you must kill one monster representing air, water, earth, and fire. You must talk to one NPC to each in order to obtain essental materials for killing each beast. AIR, THE MELECONY HAWK (lvl 90)- For years, this hawk has landed the edgeville, and terrorized the citizens. Talk to Oziach for information regarding it. Once you ask to kill it, he will teleport you high up in the clouds. Since there is hardly any air up here, you must sacrifice 5 air runes every 30 seconds or else you will take 5 damage and lose 15% energy. The hawk spots you. It immedatly sends out 3 wind waves. (they all use wave spells). Then the battle begins. The hawk's special is the ability to fly up high in the air. A few seconds later, it'll come crashing down, dealing damage to anything near it. You'll spot a shadown 5 seconds before it lands. Once you kill it, you'll be teleported back. If you die, it takes over Edgeville and you are not allowed within the city's vicinity until one hour later, then you may try again. WATER, THE SILVER SQUID (lvl 90)-For this part talk to Ned (lol, this will be the thrid F2P quest he's in if I'm correct.) He tells you of the Silver Squid, and how he has dreamed of killing it. You say you wish to kill it. And he tags along with you, giving you a lift to a new island. There is a volcano in the middle, and you must travel through it. It has many monsters, similar to Karajma Volcano. In the very center is a pool of water, the squid emerges. If you melee it, you must physically enter the pool, so you must use 5 waters/10 seconds so you can breathe, or otherwise you take 5 damage. The squid's special is being able to dive underwater, then sprout 3 long streams out of the water, you will see a small shadow 5 seconds prior to the stream coming out. Killing it will teleport you back to Draynor, dying will make Ned sad and he won't give you another chance until 30 minute later. EARTH,THE ROCK SNAKE. a Dwarf in the Dwarven mines complains that a giant snake is eating all the minerals. He send you out to kill it. He lets you ride the cart to it's lair. Once you spot him, it sends out and earth wave that destroys the exit. You are then confined to killing it. The Snake can dig into the Earth, and will hide down there, where his healing rate with be multiplied by 10 (!!!) he won't come out until he has full health, but you can enter his hole and fight him down there. Once you are in the hold the 10x thing will be begated, but he can still dig deeper. When ou are about to kill him, he will explode and deal damage equal to two earth waves. If you die it will be considered like he killed you normally. If you die normally talk to the dwarf. He will say "bad luck mate" and tell you it will be an hour before his men clear out the exit that the snake destoryed when you first entered. FIRE, THE FLAMING IMPACHI- Talk to the Zammorak Monk in Varrock Castle. He will ask if you are loyal to Zammorak. Either yes or no, if you haven't done Witch's Potion he won't accept giving you this next task. If you say no and have done the quest, he will just say "but you've commited yourself to the Dark Side, you must follow Zammorak!" He tells you that as a fellow worshiper, it is your duty to free him. He says that he can forge a key to the lock from magic, but you must get him the ingerdents. He needs 1x Iron Bar, 1x Superheat Item Runes, 1x Fire Rock. You must get the fire rock as a drop from the Flaming Impachi. He teleports you when you are ready. The Impachi is just a big rock set on fire. If you melee it, it'll do one damage for every time you hit it, even if it is a 0. It has a chance of reducing your stats at each hit (all combat stats are reduced by 5). It's special is a ball of fire flying straight at you. When it hits you, you are surronded by "walls of fire". They have 20 hp each, killing one will get you free again. The flames automaticlly die out after 1 minute, but the Impachi can melee you while you are trapped. (Neither of you can mage while you are trapped). If you die, the Monk is disgraced and will not teleport you again until you prove your worth to Zammorak. (in other words, you must wait 1 hour before giving it antoher attempt.) Ok, now talk to Seridor and he will explain to you the new robes, and how to make them. End of story, 2 quest points, 3000 magic exp, and ability to make new robes.[/hide] PS-Lol, I'm sure that dinosaur is getting tired too. Any other feedback on this? It took a long time. (Sorry to take over your topic Komo.) Put simply, yes there is one last piece of feedback that might help. Your mage monsters are too high-leveled. Even though this is supposed to be a hard quest, it needs to be something that F2P can do, and without special potions for defense, attack, range, and mage, these monsters would become impossible to kill. Try more like level 70 or 80, but 90 is a definite no-go, period. :shame: ~Mr. Devnull I based this on the Evil Chicken, it's rather weak, but its level 122 for me. And I can kill it using only 17 prayer (I know, for some of you thats bah). And I based melee on the greater demon, which I can kill at my level with ease using full addy and 4 lobbies (also bah for some of you readers). In that case I probably forgot to mention they don't always use mage, they use melee too. ~It's Super Effective! HellsBells
yes i realize you think im being rude but its the truth, you don tpay you dont get, if jagex makes you hate f2p so badly you want to get p2p they just did there job. f2p is suppose to make you want p2p. Your just being ignorant by wanting things you dont deserve. and about how you cant afford it, thats a lazy excuse. If you can afford a computer and pay a monthly bill for internet you can afford 5 dollars a month. And if by some reason you couldnt i could think of lots of things that could earn you 5 dollars a month even if you werent old enough for a real job... how about you [be quiet] for ones and ignolege people and not dis them all the time god! if you are so angry hit yourself dont take it on others who worked hard and explained everything. Become f2p for about a year then see how you like it having very lil amount of armer. even if you are f2p, still, [be quiet] and stop being a stupid idote nerd Even if you don't pay, F2P combat should be balanced. Also, some parents don't allow people to have membership...I support. My F2P Moneymaking Guide!Always gargle before a takeoff. Wakka Wakka! walka92
support its stupid how f2p only gets top robe and hat while p2p gets: hat top robe bottom robe boots gloves shield/book cape and much better staves brining max mage bonus posibly over 100? 4x the max of f2p I'm gonna be walking down an alley in varrock, and walka is going to walk up to me in a trench coat and say "psst.. hey man, wanna buy some sara brew"walka92- retired with 99 in attack, strength, defence, health, magic, ranged, prayer and herblore and 137 combat. some day i may return to claim 138 combat, but alas, that time has not yet come
Blingkachi50
i like this idea because its not extremely overpowerd like most nooby f2pers suggest and they look great i rly like the first one i support [blingkachi50]
unspoken234
I support this. Although Jagex has kind of already added something along the lines of that. They have added Wizzy (g) which doesn't increase mage but it atleast makes mage equipment look cool 98% Of teenagers surround their minds with rap music, if you're part of the 2% that stayed with rock, put this in your signature, ROCK IS BETTER
Adamdk1
I love this idea. Me being F2P, is annoying wearing bad clothes for maging with - espeically for PKing. Members get a nice set of Mistic robes, IMO, F2P should have a DECENT set of wizard robes to match up to Rune or atleast Adamant standards. Looking for a Clan
ianer101
Yeah, as a member I agree with this, it's a good idea and f2p mage sucks. Lower-level mage robes in f2p would even up the combat triangle, but I don't think f2p should get any of the robes that already exist in members. Add me to supporters list. Abyssalwhip
Yes give F2P ghost robes, mystic and splitbark. Can I have some pot from you? D. V. Devnull
They have added Wizzy (g) which doesn't increase mage but it atleast makes mage equipment look cool Just an FYI: That's the problem with Wizzy(g) equipment. All it does is add a "fashion statement", which is not what we are asking for here. How we see it, we want (and need) function, not over-glossy stuff. Plus, sadly, Wizzy(g) will make a player stand out like a sore thumb in wildi. :( (Note: I'm not trying to attack you with this, I just wanted to do a good point of making note of it. :) ...) ~Mr. Devnull and normally with a cool mind.(Warning: This user can be VERY confusing to some people... xplod33
hm...i just realised, how are a pair of robes going to make f2p combat/mage/range balanced...there should probably be a new spell that hits about 20 or so... (correct me if a new spell is part of the update, i didn't bother reading all over again : )

CaptinObvious
well, why F2P mages don't get a new armor set has a very complex and mathematical answer... but i'm not going to say it  ! it's because "Jagex want moar membars!" or mages kick ***/own at any lvl, y make the most broken class even more broken (broken = good  ) i'll suport too, mages need to kill even MORE! Bone_Death
I agree. I'd reckon it would be level 30 magic to wear, though. But that's just me. Nevertheless, I like the idea. At least SOME people have enough sense that not all F2P people are noobs. ~Bone_Death  EDIT: Put my name on support list :D 90% of people fill their signatures with random crap. slug457
Hmhhh... Me being f2p, I Like this idea. But all I Think there should be are.. . Instead of just hat, robe, amulet, and anti drag shield. There should be.. A Wizzy skirt [Desperatly needed] Wizzy boots [Maybey going A Bit far here, it is f2p] Wizzy cape [No chance, Its free to play, Just get a flippin normal cape and live with it] All we need is a Wizzy skirt i think.. And boots, But ill doubt they will do the boots. But the wizzy skirt is a real possibilty.

I didn't know that Komodoman360 missed that. Odd... :-k It should be available to both F2P and P2P, though. I don't think there is any way that Jagex would allow otherwise if they did implement this for F2P. ***goes to look and check*** ================ UPDATE: Komodoman360 did not miss that. Read this quote from his first post in the thread: I think that f2p mage robes should be expanded in some way, whether it be opening up some members items for mages, like they did with ranging, or create a new type of mage armor for everyone, f2p and p2p, that would be very nice. Toxicologist
Well! I've always wanted new low level mage robes and the spell "Snare", and possibly a higher level combat spell for F2P. Count me in! pure_fett
well i would go farther and say open up snare, TB and splitbark, wave spells AND finish the mage set that they have, ( make the skirt add mage +) add boots that give 1 or 2 and gloves that do the same, ALSO i would have green drag hide give a negative to slash so we dont have ppl runing around in full hides completely killing any chance of hitting that we had in the first place. to clarify, who in p2p uses the wave spells to pk anyway? yeah thats right, only noobs that havn't done the mage arena, or dt. i see no problem with given them wave spells seeing as melees hit good 20s+ with scims and r2h's anyway.... and a 99 ranger vs a 99 mage the ranger would win with 20 lobs left. its funny. (both acounts (pure and main) are p2p) put my name down in support i don't play psykick anymore... i play 2ed: "pure fett" 26081 to get 99 herblore

HardyZ003
why not just get the mage robes F2P have now and increase the deffence a bit... thats easier and something jagex can do... after all jagex wants money.. they wont make new mage robes ill tell you that. let me tell you in another way. I was a F2P about Two weeks ago.. im not a member. "I" became a MEMBER because I got bored of F2P or sick of it. thats what jagex wants you to be they want you to be a member as soon as possible. adding new armor you MAY think wont do much but it will.. LOTS of people will stay in F2P much longer instead of wanting to be a member for a few months.
