January 22, 200719 yr Ding dong, i'm almost 18 (march 10th) I've been to a couple of 18th parties and to be honest they were a bit crap. The DJ played terrible music, the bar was expensive, it was in a rough area, loads of chavs walking in etc etc. So i'm looking for ideas for a good 18th. My plan so far is... Hire the social club 10 mins down the road - cheap bar, nice surroundings, place to set up. Hire a PA system and burn CD's of music i like for the night, and change them after each one. = Good music all night, no abba megamixes or anything. Invite only. (+1 for everyone) Buffet. Loads of chicken drummers, sausage rolls, mini pizza etc. But dont waste money on anything nasty. I'm pretty sure this will result in a good night out. I don't want an 18th where I just go to some 80s club up town and end up drowning in my own vomit after an hour because I won't enjoy it, I want an 18th i'll remember and cherish and mostly just want it to be loads of fun for me and all my mates! So. any ideas? :)

January 22, 200719 yr HOG ROAST! Get yourself a gurt honking piggy and a spit. January 22, 200719 yr Sounds alright, I'm 18 later this year. My friends 18th's are pretty fun. Usually they rely on a bar, somehwere rented out and sometimes a theme. With so many trees in the city you could see the spring coming each day until a night of warm wind would bring it suddenly in one morning. Sometimes the heavy cold rains would beat it back so that it would seem that it would never come and that you were losing a season out of your life. But you knew that there would always be the spring as you knew the river would flow again after it was frozen. When the cold rains kept on and killed the spring, it was as though a young person had died for no reason. In those days though the spring always came finally but it was frightening that it had nearly failed.
January 22, 200719 yr The best 18ths I went to consisted of some sort of hall hire, rather than going to a club or bar or whatnot. Maybe give the party some sort of theme? Doctors & Nurses, Black tie, Film characters etc. Just a suggestion mind, I know for one I don't particularly enjoy dressing up, but all of my friends love it! :? SHH HUT YUH MUH. DERKHED.

When you're trough all the booze go to the bar and continue, without the deck of cards of course. January 22, 200719 yr went to the lake for my 18th. went to the local brewery to get some benches and tables. put up a grill, food, every kind of drinks, some lamps, wood and so on... an my friends 18th birthday i was at on saturday was just hanging out with the cosest friends, eating, playing games...

January 22, 200719 yr This should be cool. I think your ideas sound good enough already. Although, I hate parties with few people. I like it packed, with a good social atmousphere. I think a poker table would be a good feature there, too. Would be fun. :D Errr... A kegg(sp?) of Budweiser......... That's a must-have. Lots of food. I think the spit-roast thing is an awesome idea. I had a hog-baguette the other day and whoa... Was really nice. Sorry I couldn't help much. Oh! Oh! Oh! I got it. January 22, 200719 yr Author well its gonna be in a public place and i dont live in the best area so that's not a great idea, hahah... theres gonna be a lot of people there obviously, after all im incredibly popular (jokes hahah.) but yeah its just gonna be a kind of bangin' party i think! hope you can make it mitch :) the keg idea's not bad but a little pricey on my behalf! It's indoors though and considering its probably going to snow here tonight I can't exactely have an outdoor pig roast ;)

January 23, 200719 yr My friends surprised me for my 18th. They got my parents to take me to some cheap pizza place (as they had an early Bible study). My parent's just ditched me and said "happy birthday!' (don't worry, I got a proper dinner from them later) and I spent the evening with my friends at the cheap pizza place (as it should!) Best birthday I've ever had. My heart is broken by the terrible loss I have sustained in my old friends and companions and my poor soldiers. January 23, 200719 yr I went to my friends 18th a little while ago, just a group of his good friends went round to his house and we just talked about stuff and had a fair few beers. We had other alcohol and some people got pretty drunk but we had a good time. That's the only one I have been to, to be honest and it was pretty good.
