Kuroi_Ame
That's true, at least you tried, and didn't rip them. You need a little bit of work on them, they're not the best, but there's no need to come at them because they said your work was terrible. do u wow?Cassiius|Level 70 Night Elf Preist|RunetotemSambora|Level 37 Tauren Shaman|BurningLegion
K4D4
shut up at least i try. haven't see you try at all! Trying doesn't help if you just aren't good. Mabye if you stopped trying to get every single one of your topics closed and instead listened to other people (because other people actually have tried and done better than you) mabye you would actually get better. terley
sorry that was a pretty stupid thing to say, they aren't 'terrible' it's just that im trying to study animation in my spare time, Im actually racking my brains around the fundamentals of animation and my first thoughts with this is that non of these movements in this make any sense, at all, there's no planning here, its as if you were just making it up as you animated. It isn't the fact that 'at least I tried', if you thought about what you wanted to do you should of atleast realised that time management is the key to animation. I was doing similar things when I was 10 and seriously it isnt really that hard to make something move, the key is to make it believable. here I'll quickly do a punching demonstration so you cant say that I don't try, dont expect a miracle it is literally a rushed animation.. this is how I'd initially start a punching sequence. ok first you should draw the first frame, whatever it may be, be rough and basically plan out 'where' things are initially. Im not being to accurate with the anatomy. what exactly do you want to happen? Im planning of having this chap on the left stood idol for the minute and the guy on the right jumping into a punch square in the face. The guy on the right should be in a bent knee position (back to us) with his arms strung ready to go. Next you should concentrate on the ending frame, not the next frame. because you don't know where he'll end up.. the left guy is on the floor, im just guessing the postures for the minute, this is only really a plan for his movement across the screen.. any characturation will come soon. then work out the key moment, this is the obvious punching contact.. again only rough. :uhh: this 3 frame animation looks like this. very jerky but the timing's pretty much alright. to smoothen the animation you need more frames, all you basically need to do is draw half way between the start and middle, and middle and end. concentrate on the position on the feet firstly, the planted foot should stay still and determains the position of the body. the animation with the two extra frames.. hope some of this helps, I cant be bothered finishing it but its basically what im trying to get at. break your animations, plan out what you want to happen. and please, move away from those terrible stick figures. oh here's another rough animation of someone getting woken up. tomdavies90
shut up at least i try. haven't see you try at all! yeah Terley never tries at anything he's such a rubbish pixel drawer and that animation he had in his avvie a while ago was nowhere near as good as yours.... i thought my avvie was simple but it's clear i've been beaten...at least mine makes sense... issy2
shut up at least i try. haven't see you try at all! This is a forum where people are going to give you advice. If you can't deal with the fact someone doesn't like what you do then why even post here in the first place. What I think of them... terley
Terley, what animation programm you use? Imageready CS2 for gifs (animating pixel work) and flash for general animation work. I gotta say animating is really hard, it's very confusing when your first starting, you just need to get into a system where you make it easier for yourself. oh and this quote from this book by Richard Williams im reading is useful, whilst talking to Richard Kelsey (an illustrator who worked at disney). 'First of all, kid, learn to draw. You can always do the animation stuff later. I mean, Really learn to draw' without being a great anatomist and draftsman you cant animate, stick figures aren't the right way to go. Learn to draw, draw people around. megadedhed
he doesnt drawthem, he uses pivot, which creates black stickfigures for animation. you guys, the software he uses doesnt allow for anything other than lines and stickfigures. i made my animation using that program to show the most complicated thigs it could do. and just so you know, in it you have no control over framespeed. Smapla
Terly puts more work into one post than you have into all of your signatures. What the hell are these people doing exactly? Their arms start at their necks and their hands can make full rotations :uhh: Also, why did you open a shop when all you've received is negative criticism? I don't get it! terley
ok I understand that the program itself maybe a big handicap, maybe I didnt realise that, but you gotta understand stickmen are the 'buddy's' of animation.. no real animator uses em, they look terrible, and are tecnically wrong. If I were you I'd ditch the program, get out a pencil and paper and download a simple free gif animator. at least even work on the computer, just for the love of god animate how you're supposed to animate, there is no other way. Smapla i dont think its been negative, my initial comment was and im sorry but all comments should be constructive, whether you like it or not. dont disencourage from animating.
