i dont like noobs who switch options a split second before the second screen but its not scamming so i cant report them...or can i? lets take a look at this common trick

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

situation: you challenge soeone to a 5m duel...whips only...you check out everything and its good, you hit accept, double check the second screen, nothing looks out of place, the duel starts, 3....2....1...but whats this? your opponent puts on a torags plate :shock: you hit constant 0's and he hits constantly on you, there goes 5m :cry: you go to report him and think "is this really a scam?"

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

-scamming is tricking other players by deception or sneakyness, which is what happened here, but under the report abuse section it says "item scamming", did he switch the item? no. just the options so it cant really be considered a scam that way

Yes. It is absolutely scamming if you switch options so that you have an unfair advantage. There have even been cases of people being banned for switching armor before the match starts (like wearing full ranger gear, then switching to mage gear to throw a warrior off).

im not sure,i think it is, but a good way to prevent this is both people hold full invent of something worthless, such as ashes, and trade each other to show thats all you have. then start the duel straight after without going near the bank.

i always thought the 2nd screen for trading and dueling were you final check.. If you don't read em its your fault?!

the second screen doesnt show what your wearing it just says "some worn items will be taken off"

The second screen for dueling doesn't show which armor is allowed. It just says, "some armor cannot be used in this fight," or something along those lines.

I kind of agree with you here, there is a second screen for a reason...but also I think that doing that is wrong... I see it as deceiving.

Yeah, it's scamming! He tricked you by switching the options, hopefully your report will go through just fine. If it isn't considered rule breaking, then that's something that Jagex definately needs to change :| ....

The report abuse system needs an overhaulin'! Badly. I tried to report a macroer once and it said "for this rule you can only report players who you have spoken to or traded recently." Pretty pathetic, eh?

i'm not a very nice person i guess lol.. I always check and double check my trade screens.. As for staking i've only boxed or range staked and i really didn't care if someone was ranging and threw on some rune... they still lost lol

yes its a scam but its ur fault that u fell for it. it is too easy to see them switch the rule.

i mean honestly, if your going to do no armor fights and some 1 switches on armor, having armor in your inventory would be a benefit to not having it in your inventory to use so, like a boy scout be prepared.

lol that happened to me once, i gave a guy 10k to buy me green d hide chaps and legs (back when i was a noob and that was a lot to me) he was in there for over 5 minutes and i added him and pmed asking what hes doing, he then logged i tried reporting it said he hadnt talked recenly :evil:

do what i do, take all ur combat armor and stuf w/ u and in case they try and scam, kick their butt anyways

yeah thats not the only one, ive been confused to lol. i had melee armor with me, but the idiot switched it to 'No Melee' and turned magic on, I coulda swore that melee was allowed before though. So he ran outta air blasts (LOL) and i sat there for about 2 hours then he finally forfeit. then i get a pm 'im sorry i scammed you can i plz have my stuff back plz'. so he admitted it was a scam, Reported, sucks to be him i guess.....
