Too much censoring on TV?

I hate how much things on tv are censored...

 

 

 

more ppl would enjoy tv if it wasnt so censored..everyone has at least heard the "F" word and the "S" word . i bet the the FCC are cussing up a storm everyday.whats next... being arrested for cussing in public? i would be screwed if that happened. I though about getting 20,000 ppl in my town to sign a petition to ban censors.

It's not that it's a bad adjective, but they [used to] be strong, "biting", emotional words, making using them actually have an impact in a conversation- if you dropped an f-bomb, there wasn't another word to explain the emotion you were feeling at the time. Nowadays, the f-word is used more than common articles.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Some of the censoring is overdone, but at least curse words are slowed down by censoring.

That's funny. The majority of adults believe that TV has gotten too uncensored lately. While I'm against censorship, you gotta keep in mind that kids have access to TV's and probably shouldn't be exposed to that kind of stuff.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Oh, and it's not as easy as just getting some petitions to ban censors. Censors are nationally regulated and it would be impossible for you to do anything about it. Just get some premium channels if you really want to watch uncensored stuff.

I wish there was the option to order whatever channels you wanted and not have to pay for the rest. That would solve a lot of issues. Each channel would be on a per channel subscription basis so if no one ordered it there would be no viewers and thus no advertisement money available so crummy channels would be allowed to pass away and I wouldn't have to waste my time flipping past them.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

In this scenario if you wanted a channel that was all cussing all the time 24 hours a day then if the market could support it then you could have it and no one that didn't want it would have to pay money to support it... heh

This is more of a moral issue than anything. That's an individual case. Personally I don't think an impressionable mind of a five year old should be watching that kind of stuff. I'm sure they'll turn out fine either way like you did, but they should be watching spongebob, not naked people getting raped/killed/shot at while dropping every swear word imaginable. If they see it, then generally they'll do it, so its going to increase violence and abusive language letting kids be influenced by bad language and violence at a young age. They say (scientific researchers) the most influential part of a persons life is between something like 4-13 years (roughly) so being exposed to such things at that age isn't going to do the person any favors later on in life. That's why good parenting is so important.

about the whole censoring thing i think that after a certain time when the kids have gone to bed their really is no need for it. most people watching at say 10pm are old enough not to be shocked and offended by such things. and after all they can always switch over.
