February 18, 200719 yr Author Rare's do go up in value, but, to me it doesn't seem worthwhile to have a rare. Along with a skill cape comes a 99, and that beats out any rare in my opinion
February 18, 200719 yr skill and your character is worth much more than money. So i would go with skill cape anytime. 1500+ total 89 cmb; 1600+ total and under 93 cmb. 02/04/07 reached all skills 60+ under lvl 90 cmb. 07/19/07 reached all skills 70+ at lvl 93 cmb.Prayer is good for herbs

February 18, 200719 yr Author One thing about a rare is that you can lose that through a fight, or if you got hacked, yet you will never lose your 99 unless you get banned

February 18, 200719 yr i wear my wcing cape more often then my mask, even though i had the mask for alot longer. skill capes gives benefits unlike rares which is only good for showing off your wealth. :?
February 18, 200719 yr What would YOU rather have to show off? I rare equaling the ammount of money you would spend on a 99 skill of your choice, or the 99 skill cape? Who would chose rares before 99's, and who would chose 99's before rare's.... Post your opinion! There are many things to consider. Like for example, what skill cape? Because if it is fletching or cooking, I would go for a rare. Mainly because so many people have 99 cooking/fletching it won't get you the respect a rare will. However, slso think 'do I want a stream of beggars following me for money because of my rare?'
February 18, 200719 yr Author Like stated in an earlier post, it's whatever cape you want.. but whatever you spent getting that skill to 99 is how much your rare would be worth.
February 18, 200719 yr I think it really depends on what type of skill cape your talking about. Obviously fletching could easily be bought with a phat, but something like runecrafting would be worth more money-wise than a phat at 99. It comes down to "Can it be bought with money to spare from a phat" If yes, then the phat is worth more. If no, then I think the skill cape is worth more
February 18, 200719 yr I'd do this: Get a rare, sell it, get a fire cape, and if I have money left over 99 FM, and maybe 99 cooking (to trim the FM cape) If i have even more then that, 99 Magic. That is just me, though :.
