What makes a username good?

 

 

 

I'm making a mule(sorta like a non-main that you can make gold on and give to your main) on another site, and I need a username, something memorable, like Wandering Mind(already taken). All I can think of is bad names, but if anyone has any ideas, share em?

Any name with numbers in it is instantly deemed dull. Think about it people, putting 34345 after your name isn't worth it. Loses all originality.

Play around with peoples names that mean something too you.

My username is the best example of a "bad" username then I guess. I couldn't care less though, it's not like people call me it in real life. Usernames just aren't important to me at all, I don't get why people get so hung up about people with numbers in their name are worse than someone without one, it makes no sense.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

I would put more numbers in if I made a new account here, just to annoy people. Couldn't care less about being unique in something so trivial as a username, if you get to know me you will know I am unique, without having to think of some ridiculous name to call myself.

Just come up with whatever you like, be it something you created, someting you enjoy, blah, blah, blah. My name was a town in a story I had to write for school, and it stuck.

Or you can just call yourself Captain McPizza...

Yeah obviously, but some people think its worth adding 30 numbers to the end of their name just so they can be "Adam" or "Killer".

But that raises the odds of someone else having the same username as you dramatically. I'd go for something short, yet unique- "Reb" for example (personally of course, use it and you're dead.). I'd take out the "dragon" part if I could, due to it being so overused, but oh well, it completes the acronym I guess :lol: . If you want it original, it's always good to stray away from actual words in the English language (ex: I was thinking of "Rebirth" or "Reborn", but they're so cliche and common that it would be stupid to use those). In all honesty, the best name on this forum is "Tripsis"- totally unique, yet it still sounds cool (and rolls off the tongue nicely); it doesn't sound cliche or dorky in any way, shape, or form :P .

On WoW I use Japanese pronunciation of various normal names.

I always enjoy creating just a decent fantasy name.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Made Nadril quite a few years ago back when Neverwinter Nights came out. The full name for the character is Nadril Neverwinter.

I'm not talking about in game (and neither is the topic creator, I think), I'm talking about general internet username(s). For example, every one of my usernames on the internet has "Reb" in them- it's not just a Runescape thing.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

If it's like Runescape or some other game where no one else is allowed to have the same name as you, that'd be awesome to have a one letter username reserved. But if we're talking about the internet in general (not just a small area), where there are 100s of millions of people and no rule against two people having the same username (except on the exact same forum), I personally would never go for a one letter username. Three minimum.

Something that when people see it, they automatically recognise it.
