Ive completed Rogue Trader recently (I never got around to it), and realised that there are now 4 new Ali's in Al Kharid...

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Ali the Farmer

 

 

 

Ali the Tailor

 

 

 

Ali the Guard

 

 

 

and Ali the Smith

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

All say the same thing, they're trying to start up a business, but they havent got the right materials, supplies, tools, or whatever yet. They all com from Pollinivneach, and when examining them you learn that they are all associates of Ali Morrisane (of Ali M. Corporate Enterprises - or AMCE).

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Now I've also completed Contact! quest recently, but when I was in Sophanem, there are several new shops as well, mostly from people returning home from Menaphos, who've been stuck there since the plague broke out (its just non-contagious spots).

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Such shops include a dagger store, selling all up to rune, as well as buying your Dragon Daggers, it also sells low level artefacts form the Plunder Pyramid, and some more junk. Another shop there was a food store, selling cares, slices of chocolate cake, and bread. This all in addition to to the recently added bank, altar, as well as the store that sells Gnome Spice and buys Curry Leaves, and a Crafting Stall selling all the stuff also found in Al Kharid.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

And still these new shop-owners tell you that better times are coming, so to sell you better and cheaper stuff. Could this be linked to the ones waiting for better trades in Al Kharid?

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Did you also notice that the 3 camels Al, Elly and Olly are all some twisted version of "Ali"?

Now I may go a bit overboard but it kept stuck in my mind that we've never actually seen the Emir of Al Kharid, nor know his name. Only the name of his son.

PS: I just checked the old Runescape News sections, and found that there are supposed to be 7 routes where the Carpets will take you. Currently there are only 6 routes.

Agreed Quite a bit of thought went into this. The Ali Karid especially i find interesting. Also the 7 carpet routes. Hopefully those shops will open up soon.

Would be nice to see the desert being put to more use, and some nice new shops.

 

 

 

I think there are to many places in RuneScape that are ignored the desert is on of them.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Hope they will add a Teleport Spell to one of the existing Towns or a new one making the Desert easier to get to it would be a busier place.

The desert is full of surprises, check out a thread i made about a month ago, revealing that granite armor making was to come. Talk with many people in sophanem, and they'll also tell you about future tasks.

Very interesting. I should really do "Icthlarin's little helper" so that I can do "Contact!". I like the desert places :D

Ali M has done some merchanting on the miscellania/ Etcteteria islands too, those of you who have done the royal trouble quest know that those dwarves bought their equipment from Ali M. I'm pretty sure I've seen his name in other quests and places too, can't remember where though.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The desert isn't the only place where there is a huge "Coming Soon"-sign next to it. Myreque-, Regicide-, Gnome-, Dwarf-, Shadow Realm- and slug- storylines and Devious minds also are just waiting to be updated.

Also, in the 'Eagle's Peak' quest, the fancy dress shop guy metions how Ali sold him 'Eagle's' feathers which were actually painted large chicken feathers. I think that Ali M. is just going to be a recurring joke for Jagex.

No, its no so much I thought it was something else, I just remeber him saying something similar to Ali Morissasane, but it wasnt actually that similar. Still, it obviously means something.

Hmm...maybe it really IS part of Zaro's plot to take over the world again...Maybe Ali sells faulty equipment to the other god's people,and then gets to have Al'Kharid named after him?
