March 5, 200719 yr "4444 To sell " or "4444 To buy " ______________________ I know I still use this, now people only say: "Sell " or "Buy " ______________________ Post your thoughts... ~SkippWn \
March 5, 200719 yr It's easier for the person to just find you, instead of you having to watch for a "4444" and then having to find that person. Its more steps involved.
March 5, 200719 yr there was a topic about this awhile ago if i remember correctly, but it seems like people just dont like to do it anymore. i used to do this, but i just put my name on the end now so people can pm me.
March 5, 200719 yr I still use that method.... although my preferred number is 666 lol. I find it very useful if i'm selling a lot of items, for instance... 666 to buy whip - 1.7m 777 to buy rune boots - 170k 888 to buy lava staff etc... That way I can watch for whatever number is called then I know what item to sell... less farting around.

Yeah, it was my topic, and the title was almost the same as this =P I'm like "I'm sure I've seen this before..."
March 6, 200719 yr Why don't people stop being lazy and just type something clear that everyone can understand? For example: "Selling 100 for 10k! ~" >_> And I still kinda get annoyed when people say "sell/buy" instead of "selling/buying"... proper grammar is important. ^ Blog.
March 6, 200719 yr >_> And I still kinda get annoyed when people say "sell/buy" instead of "selling/buying"... proper grammar is important. Shorter words that get the message across make communication faster in the limited chat box. I hate it when people say really long messages.
March 6, 200719 yr I used to do it in RSC, I think the reason some people don't do it anymore is that someone will type 4443, just to get your hopes up and ultimately dissapoint you. The ULTIMATE Runescape weapon

Shorter words that get the message across make communication faster in the limited chat box. I hate it when people say really long messages. But if someone says, "Sell yew longs", you can't really tell whether or not the person is commanding you to sell yew longs or if he is just leaving out the "ing". It's annoying, and I agree with pink. The 444 thing just annoys me. It's a lot easier to just say your name, and whoever trades you trades you. Like Tee said, it's more steps involved to shout 444 and have to look for it. Ranked top 15 in the world for In The Groove. Click to watch videos.I'm back! For now.
March 6, 200719 yr I used to do: "999999999999999999 to sell rune ess", but now I just either use flash and wave and that kinda stuff or the forums.
March 6, 200719 yr No offence to you and not trying to be mean but this thread is kinda pointless. Anyway its just easier to find the person selling.
March 6, 200719 yr Though this isn't as common of a way anymore, it is still very popular on F2P merchanting worlds 26M Crafting XP

Glad to see you. I always got annoyed by those when I saw them, a few of them tend to flood the screen with numbers.
March 6, 200719 yr I find something like..."Buying Yew logs - toast" works better Come to #tip-it on Swift IRC, if you're cool
March 6, 200719 yr I say 'Buy ess-sir' I used to do the 'press 123 to buy runes' but that got annoying when people just typde in 123 for teh sake of it. ^Sir Jem 05-The Bunny Drinking Blog?^ Click it!
March 6, 200719 yr funny you mentioned this.rarely people hardly sell items using this method. its more easier to put a "-" and (name).
March 6, 200719 yr "4444 To sell " or "4444 To buy " Omg that was so RSC !! Brings back many memories ! :D
March 6, 200719 yr I don't even understand merchants now, why do they type in the same thing over and over that people can't understand without replying to the people talking to them? "Buy 500 ess" I asked if he wanted to buy ess or if he was looking for ess buyers but he never replied so I still have no idea what these noobs mean when they say "buy." March 6, 200719 yr This modern version is much easier, and it involves not as many steps as the other one. That's why it's much more popular now than the other version. Add me if you so wish: SwreeTak
March 7, 200719 yr I never did use this method... I have always preferred the more efficient way of including your name.
