RuneScape has 200k players? Where in the living heck did you pull that number from? RuneScape has about 1 million members and 5 million free players. ONly 2 million people less than WoW? And even then, 50-80% of our playerbase is active at any given time of normal gameplay. It is also $10 cheaper per month..and it is STILL one of the best MMORPGs out there. I think that says a lot. 5 million players?? i think you mean, retired accounts... :-w if runescape had 5 million players, why is there only 200k active each day? There may be 200k active AT ANY GIVEN TIME. The servers can only hold so many people, anyways. But trust me..every minute, people are coming and going. RS keeps a constant number of players online. Usually, people who get banned will stretch the truth and go to the forums. You hear the same amount as the tip of the iceberg shows. As for glitches, WE only hear about the major ones. I've played WoW for 6 months. Let's compare WoW to RS: -New items for every level AND *shock horror* there is actually things for people that have played for more than a 4 months! Infact, the whole game is pretty much preperation for end-game instances. I came onto RS last night to see some mates and got told that their still is no better weapon than a whip and no better armour than Torags. That is just pathetic. You've all been using the same armour and weapons for 2 years now, don't you think that needs serious seeing to? All Jagex do is throw low level crap into it and expect to keep real players - which is failing concidering that's the reason I quit in the first place. -You have to choose which class and race you want to be. Not god-mode where everyone is the best at everything and looks identical. The severe lack of customisation in this game is appauling for anyone who has played anything else. -It's about a million times bigger than RS... -Looks about a million times better than RS... -Actually has a storyline - not just some semi-blind old man who robs banks. -Draenei and Tauren! :D -Promotes team work and actually has a guild structure - not just a forum post saying "this is who is in our guild". All this to pay 6 quid extra a month? Please don't cry about WoW is crap just because your mother won't let you pay that much. Denial leads to insanity. That was the deciding point for me. RS membership has 15 days left, just selling my junk to get a rare just in case I do decide to come back someday. ur right RuneScape's community tops most, everyone is so friendly (besides the occasional scammer of course)...and that makes RS soo much better : Are you serious? It's big, there's a lot of stuff to do, but there's absolutely nothing exciting about it. And no, it doesn't help ya'll in real life. Deal with it. I have a friend of mine at work who played this game. (yeah a real 3d game, lol). I joined, it was 15$ a month. To my utter shock and disbelief.. the Company.. the gaming community, and the game... WERE TRASH!!! I will not name this game, due to someone be curious and trying it out, because in the end, they will have wasted their cash. Lets start with reviewing the game. It "sounds" nice, 3 races against 1 another, open and massive pvp battles. Each race has their own unique ability which attracts players to their respective places. I was attracted to the "Mech" scheme, so I went with that race. So whats the problem? One race special ability is Defense. Now sure, defense is good right? Doesn't hurt for this 1 race to have some good Defense because thats their race speciality. Guess what? WRONG. Just 1 of them can tank 50 guys from a opposing race.. LITERALLY. Now imagine 20 of them rushing at you? Point Proven. The games content consists of only 11 maps! ELEVEN! And 2 of them you can't go to due to race restrictions so that leaves you with 9. Unbalanced and unworthy content with charging your wallet of 15$. Now lets start with the community. I joined the forum only to be flamed tremedously for my lack of expertise on the game. Sure, I was a newb, but after 3 months of playing this game, I was still getting treated like crap. To put it blunt, their is far to much hate within the community. (What was shocking was they claimed they was the best community around! And going f2p would make the scum of the internet spawn before them). They are already being overcharged and the game itself is loosing more players everday, i'm suprised to see half the community denie f2p. And last but not least, the Game Company First off, lets say there is a bug in Runescape right? It gets fixed within next week's update. Well.. this game here, a simple but annoying bug takes MONTHS to fix. Yes, your forking over 15$ for a bug to be fixed in MONTHS! Why a month? Well obviously, the guys who are hosting the game do not own the code to fix it.. some guys in Korea do. So you can image how long it would take to fix a few bugs, let alone new game patchs! The game has been suprisingly going on for a bit over a year now but has only 1 new release of content. If you send in a ticket to Customer Support to get a question answered, if they do not believe you, they will literally take one item out of your account!!! Why? "For Wasting Their Time". Yet they get PAID to do this? Its like playing a game of risk! "Will they believe me and fix the issue? Or not and take something I own?" Eventually, I voiced my opinion how bad the company was doing on the forums, people are trusting them to give gamers what they want for their money. My IP was banned. So to put it blunt, thank God for the weekly updates, thank God Runescape has a better company looking over it, thank God its cheaply priced and thank God its balanced with a great community!!! *Falls over dead* I just went from hell to heaven. *Hugs Runescape* ~Defender~ I know this one... It's AUTO ASSUALT. Bane of all life. Can be looted to obtain a variable item and reobtain the imp jar. If you are insane, it can instead be exchanged for impling jars from Elnock Inquisitor. Jagex has put this game together very nicely and it is well balanced unlike other games I have played. I'm sure this game will continue to be popular for a few more years. So in a class of 40, and all of them either play WoW or Runescape, at least 10 or so would play Runescape. alot of those accounts you see in the highscores retired! you cant make the facts that theres 1 million ranked so 1 million players are still active. some of them can be either abandoned accounts or accounts that got keylogged from the actual owner. im not calling anyone dumb on purpose, im just correcting what there saying. believe me runescape does not have over a million players active, might be close to that since players loggin and out daily from other countries. and what are the odds of people leaving? -scammed -hacked -customer support (i nearly left cause of this). -too many swearing -graphics -died and lost their items, most mmorpgs dont apply to this... :-w -banned account so take a look at thats. each day players quit cause of one of these reasons. the odds just gets bigger.
