Should members skills be tought on tutorial island?

Featured Replies

I made a new account (again  ) and I was thinking what the rs world would be like if they tought member skills on tutorial island, but you still weren't aloud to use them in F2P.

I think it would be a good idea because more newcomers would want to be members, which would make JaGeX more money, which would lead to better updates (hopefully lol).

What do you think?

When you buy your first membership you should complete a member tutorial island, this will eliminate a lot of questions such as: how do I farm?

But, wouldn't it make more money if they would be demonstrated in F2P worlds too? But just on tutorial island.

As long as you still didn't get the experience, it could be plausible... If you do then I have to disagree.

itd easily spoil it, and more pures would get fessed up with the longer trial.

Hehe I've always thought it funny that you need a certain level to mix certain herbs in a vial. I mean c'mon! It's basically asking are you smart enough to put an herb and ingredient in a freeking vial of water. "I'm sorry, you're too stupid to make an antipoison."

Well that's a bit off topic. I have no objections to this, I think it would be a great idea.

By popular demand, this signature is back- however I currently do not have a blog up at the moment and if I did I wouldn't update it. Sorry, the sig links to nowhere :( .

Sounds like it would be a fun way to attract more members, and probally wouldn't take too much coding.

Fletching: Make fake logs come from a tree that can be fletched in f2p and have them make arrow heads with the smithing instructor.

Farming: give them a seed and have them plant it. A fake herb that they can use in herblore mabey.

Thieving: Steal from a chest a couple times, get 100 or so gp :P

Agility, have them walk all the way around something, then use an agility obstacle to get them there quick.

I see no reason why not? Sure, some people will complain about tutorial island being too long, but it does help out a lot(anyone who was around before will agree)

If someone's too stupid to learn the skills by himself (especially since now there's the new kbase and all the new tip.it skill guides (I remember when there were only about 5 good skill guides on tip.it...)), they shouldn't be allowed to play RS...

Losers...

Are you blind or ignoring me on purpose?

Even though I sometimes side with religious people in some debates, I no longer consider myself religious.

Member's tutorial should be somewhere in Lumbridge, make it optional. If it is on tutorial island fewer people would complete tutorial island and people making secondary account makers will be severely annoyed.

F2p walks off tutorial isle with 99 herblore lol
Your name is "bet you fail", and you're starting a business with your mom? I'm not even going to touch that.....

Lol, you can't even walk off F2P tutorial with 99 F2P skills, let alone 99 P2P skills (if they were to be added)... Max exp is like 260, I think...

nah. even if they were, only on p2p tut islands.

edit: also i agree with unknown, the max level for anything is 3 on tutorial island

i wouldn't mix this in with the tutorial island, but i would suggest a new [optional] members tutorial where you could be taught how to do them.

Now going a little off topic, i would like it if crafting was taught on tutorial island, because i remember i had no clue how to use it when i first started, but i guess they have introduced the in-game manuels on them, which was after i experienced this.

Ya I always thought defense funny too. Oops your to stupid to put on a different colored armor.

and it would mess up autoers. For about 1 day.

well its better than nothing

yeah it may make ppl want to become members

i always thought that they should do it, but when u think about it (at least this is how it worked for me) u start off as f2p when u get sooo addicted u visit sites (like tip.it) and learn about how p2p stuff works on your own...before you even become a mem

There's no such thing as "wireless." Just really long extension cords.

Good idea but i don't think it should be involved in the original tutorial, instead why not make it available if you asked the lumbridge guide for the tutorial

Strangely with WotLK so near, I wished I could delay it a bit to push through that last TBC content in MH/BT :'(.

I don't think that would be useful. There are already a member tutorial island...

Lol same here. It's kind of stupid how they don't teach you it.. same with runecrafting..

Should members skills be tought on tutorial island?

I don't think so. What's the point of it? F2P wouldn't be able to use them anyway. But maybe they should have a tutorial for new members.

RuneCrafting get's explained in Rune Mystery quest, so there's no need for it to be explained in the tutorial. It's a good idea, would be usefull if it was made optional for people who make pures.
