General Guide: Capes of Achievement

Recommended Posts

You should add what boost they give to the skill, like 100/99 in fishing for the fishing cape.

If you put on the cape, the matching skill's max level will increase to 100.

If you have a cape for a skill that having 100 in does not make any diffrence, it is still wonderful to see one of your stats in the triple digits without drinking a potion.

Difference.

Typo corrected, thanks.

Estate Agent

The guide says Varrock City, when in fact he is in Ardougne City as well.

I chatted to him there, and had an option about asking about the cape, I don't know but that kinda tells me that you can buy a cape from him too. :-k

East of the bank near the docks.

In the trimmed capes section, it says

"...you will get that cape with a coloured trim on its' edges."

The aphostrophe (sp) is not correct and should be removed...

Just dotting the "i"s for you....

Kiara just wondering, would it be possable to have, lets say a short video clip of each cape emote. I think that would convince others to look at the guide. also no other fansites seem to have it :D

[inferno_char 11/28: Although we'd love to have videos or even large animations on the site it quite simply would use too much bandwidth to do. I'll let Kiara confirm this.]

99 Woodcutting goal: Complete! :D

On the how to dye capes section it says it takes 2 redberries and 5gp to make red dye, when in fact, it takes 3 redberries and 5gp.(foudn this out the hard way....)

[inferno_char 12/3: You must be refering to the regular capes guide, this has been fixed in the next draft which will be released later today]

i believe the 99 woodcut cape

A tree with a bird's nest grows right in front of you. You take your handy axe and chop at it. With each chop, the tree gets shorter and shorter until the nest hits the stump, and you catch the egg on the edge of your axe.

i believe its a bird that flys out of the nest and lands on the axe. not an egg. at least it doesnt seem to be an egg when my friends do it for me.

You should point out that the quest cape Does not make any difference to the level of your stats

this would be helpful to some members who aspire to the quest cape (like me)

thanks

Hunter Cape

I saw that someone had said that you need the Hunter cape. So here it is.

Might need some tweaking, I don't do Hunter much, I've just seen the cape and its emote which is all I'm stating. You can get the place you obtain the cape from your very own Hunter Guide.

-What appears to be a Kebbit is jumping around. You set up a net trap. The net falls down and the Kebbit is caught. You lift the net slightly, you pick up the Kebbit and you hold it up in pride.-

This would be a great addition to your Achievement Capes Guide.

Instead of a plain cape that only has the symbol of your skill, you will get that cape with a coloured trim on its' edges.

If you put on the cape, the matching skill's max level will increase to 100.

A tree with a bird's nest grows right in front of you.

There shouldn't be an apostrophe in the above cases, objects(animals too) cannot possess other objects.

You quickly build a one-square house around you.

Final word should be 'yourself'.

Offline and unavailable.

Final word should be 'yourself'.

You're right up until the point over animals. Animals live, and this is regardless of the point anyway becasue objects can be possessive. For example:

The tree's branches.

The branches belong to the tree. It would be this if there were more than one tree:

The trees' branches

However, this, as you suggest, would imply many birds, and the nest would be lost so it wouldn't make sense:

... a birds nest.

It should be bird's, or birds'.

Therefore, it should be skill's (the level belongs to the skill), and bird's. Its' however IS wrong. A possive 'it' doesn't contain an apostrophe, hence it should be 'its'.

'You' is perfectly correct. It is written in the third-person narrative tense, and thus could be 'you' OR 'yourself'. In this case, both mean the same thing.

I see in the guide there is no picture of the hunter cape, so I took a picture of my own UNTRIMMED hunter cape for you to post, it may need editing etc.

If you dont get a trimmed picture as well i may be able to get a picture of that too.

Hey guys,

If you combine my very own description of the hunter cape:

Hunter Cape

-What appears to be a Kebbit is jumping around. You set up a net trap. The net falls down and the Kebbit is caught. You lift the net slightly, you pick up the Kebbit and you hold it up in pride.-

With this picture of it:

huntercapeni5.png

and where to obtain it from your very own Hunter guide:

you may want to buy yourself a Hunter Cape from the Hunting expert at her cabin in the Jungle hunting area south of the Feldip Hills. (A second hunting guide is located in the Trollweiss hunting area.)

Then you have your very own Hunter Cape section

Hey guys,

I have been searching around for a bit, until one of my friends who owns a hunter cape (t) gladly did a screenshot for me. I touched it up using my knowledge of Photoshop. So here it is, behold the glory of the HUNTER CAPE (T): (and the crowd goes wild.....)

huntercapet2-40x40.png

Now you can get the Hunter Achievement Cape section up and running

Can a thieving cape owner confirm this?

You have the description of the Thieving cape all wrong... It's a money bag that appears on your back, and you bend over and toss coins over your shoulders into the bag. The coins are very light and hard to see, but they surely are there.

Your skill cape for thieving is still wrong... the emote actually has a money bag on the back of the character, then it picks some pockets and throws coins over his/her shoulders into the money bag

gallery_28257_123_2330.jpggallery_28257_123_196.gif

it's a lot easier to get over yourself when you look at intelligence the same way you look at beauty, or height, or eye color: being smart is easy, but being good is hard ... being smart is handed to you, being good is handed to *nobody*.

Both the original and the correction do not fit what I see when I look closely while doing the emote (the emote looks a little silly for a thief).

A bag appears on my back, I go a little through the knees and hold out my hand as to seek balance. (This probably were other people see the pocket being picked.)

Then I look around very fast (to see if someone spotted me) and that is when the coins appear from the bag. (apparently the head motion is so fast that the coins jump up from it.)

This is what I see, but sure people can see many things in it because it is not clear/obvious at all, I looked at it many times but it does not help...

[pokemama 15 Apr: thanks, I asked another master thief and she said same as you, so I think we'll disregard the submission.]
