Flag holding in cw, Cheating or not?
I'm amused at the reference to "decoying". That would be fine if you weren't actually crowding around your flag with the sole purpose of protecting it for the best part of 20mins. How on Earth you can call waiting for some inexperienced players to try grabbing the flag, waiting until they come out of the castle and then killing them with contemptuous ease, 'strategy' is beyond me...

Varrock, Achiement diarys in the making?
The fact is Varrock is probably the most popular city, apart from Falador for obvious reasons. Therefore, I think it was inevitable one of the two would be chosen, but I bet the team at Jagex groaned in dispair when Varrock emerged as the winner. A hard task? Something to do with the Rag and Bone man, a high level monster's bone drop for example? Not strictly speaking Varrock, but it's its closest city. Or the Digsite area. I'm stuck for ideas now...

Are you a Fascist? Take the F Scale Quiz.
This test is mindlessly stupid... it doesn't even have a ranking for Socialists such as myself. Apparently, I'm a Liberal :|

But what happens when you get people like me who live in Britain, but don't regard themselves as British?

Monday Poll: Monster links in Dungeon maps
As I said above, being the one who coded those links (Ginger did the in-map links), you can blame that on me and it can easily be fixed once I figure out what the correct code is for opening a new window as opposed to opening in the same window. *cough* target="_blank" inside the tag For example: Text

How Big Do You Think Runescape Can Get?
Adding RuneScape to MiniClip may not have been the best thing for RS2, but we have to consider that the Gowers had absolutely no experience of dealing with customers and gamers on this scale before, and IMO, the experience with MiniClip has provided those two with skills that will prove invaluable for RS or whatever projects they decide to work on in the future. You can certainly tell they're learning how to deal with disruptive gamers and their requests - ignore them. Therefore, MiniClip has inadvertently helped Jagex in more ways than we'll ever know. As for the size of RS? Well, I think Jagex are starting to realise that the pool of new players theyve relied on for so long is eventually starting to run dry. With this in mind, they're having to improve some of the more rushed updates (such as PC) and take more time with them. I think this is representative of the fact RS isn't gonna get much bigger, and the explosion of new gamers is starting to cool down. Therefore, in order to increase, Jagex is having to release high quality updates.

This Is Getting Out of Hand
Actually no...I saw some 90+ up in there even a 122  ... mains complaining about their pures? :|

This Is Getting Out of Hand
Does it really matter if we give them publicity? Most of them are leaving due to the futility of their protests anyway, And either way, Jagex isn't gonna give them what they want.

PC Monster levels changed :: Help the Tip.It Bestiary!
Personally I feel info about max hits would be irrelevant for the Bestiary in this case, since (unless you have no tactical mind whatsoever) you're priority isn't actually the brawlers. Also, quite a few people come with prayer-boosting armour, so they'd just use Protect From Melee, making the info about max hit useless. Therefore, sorry to everyone who has rushed out and tried to find their max hits, but I for one certainly won't be adding that data. Now, I went to PC when it was released, and I can't say I noticed any difference in the levels. But, looking at the evidence here, I'll rethink that. I'll look into this in a bit more detail in time. Unfortunetely I'm going away for the weekend so I doubt I can deal with this, but I'll ask drakblade (the other Bestiary Crewbie) if he can help.

This Is Getting Out of Hand
Indeed, but because of what Lenin had idealized (sp?), which was supposed to be real Communism, ignorant people just lump Stalinism together with Communism. So while I'm actually a Stalinist, I say I'm Communist for the people don;t know the difference. OT: Rioting is pathetic and doesn;t get anything done. And why do the pures hate the new update so much? All it seems is level classification, is it because of their lower cb level they get less points? I'm not so sure about that statement. Lenin twisted Marxism to fit within the context of his own time. Communism in its purest form is a country with no state, as the country has been through a Socialist Revolution and the class borders have been smashed as the Proletariat takes more power over its class enemy, the Borgeoisie. Russia had a state, so I don't regard the Leninist state as Communism either. Having said that, there is no doubt Lenin was a Marxist - he just knew what needed to be done, and this meant twisting Marxism into his own form. Personally, I'm actually with Trotsky myself. Either way, Stalin wasn't a Marxist, and was most certainly not a Communist. He was purely evil. Nothing more. The ignorance towards Communism comes from the Cold War. The Americans never liked the term "Communism" from the word 'go'. It would have been very beneficial for them to label Stalin as 'Communist' - they could kill two birds with one stone. Unfortunetely (for them at least), what they didn't realise is that you can't kill an ideology. In fact, if you try, you actually fuel a resistance for that ideology. How topical when you look at today's situation in the Middle-East. Anyways, I'm going WILDY off topic lol. They never got what they wanted in today's update, and from what I see, the protests are slowly dying down as people start to realise the vainness of their actions. It was very wise of Jagex to ignore the protests, and to not respond. Clearly, the Gowers are learning how to deal with situations like this... I like it.

Monday Poll: Monster links in Dungeon maps
I have in fact noticed this. I actually coded the whole script for all three of those maps (for the links inside the image, not the list - someone else did that), and I checked them before I sent them off to be be uploaded onto the site, and they worked fine and were in their correct postions. I've talked to a few of my friends with different browsers, and they're saying the hyperlink works fine and the hyperlink is actually dead on the circle. You're saying it's to the left, my one has it slightly above the dot. I can only presume that the differentiation occurs when different browsers are used. I am working on correcting this and making sure the code is XHTML compliant so the hyperlinks are in their correct position. Failing that, I'll seek further guidance on why it's behaving like a stubborn child. Until then, you'll just have to bare with us. I wouldn't have submitted this unless I was 100% certain this error wouldn't have occured. Clearly, I was wrong, but I had that confidence.

Monday Poll: Monster links in Dungeon maps
Not at all. Using coordinate hyperlinking and by turning the image into a map, we can provide the hyperlinks insde the image without affecting its file size too much.

W2 Falador Map
That's an "Impact" font that's been stretched hasn't it? Ouch... it looks wrong lol. I never knew there were zones... now I see why my mates could sell so much more faster than me there! If the info in this is good, I say a good guide. Another concern I have is how many people actually know about this system? Certainly from my experience in Falador, it's just one massive mess, not an organised system.

Is there any way to report messages?
Dragontotem, you can't report PMs using that form, since presumably that would actually be a violation of privacy. The correct thing to do would be to use your head and report it to a Moderator with proof, like Laikrob said. Life doesn't end just because there's no button to do something for you, the mods are here to help you with your forum needs.

Resizable avatars
Maybe I'll seem a bit harsh here, buy why should we provide that service? There's hundreds of JPEG resizers and free image manipulation software out there. All else failing, there's MSPaint. There really is no excuse for oversized avatars. Therefore, I don't see why we should provide a service for people who, frankly, can't be bothered.

PC update perfect and fair for all
i know the perfect place to train melee at 100+cmb getting you 72k+ xp an hour with normal rune equipment, and using no food or pray. problem is ive talked about it so much on irc that people who know me know too much about it. it beats pc anyday. :D you failed to mention that you also need a mound of crack to stay awake while training on monsters This update would have taken months, thus making your argument completely invalid.

This Is Getting Out of Hand
I'm a Marxist. Not quite a Communist but incredibly close, hence the sickle and hammer in my avatar. Am I stopping you from having an opinion? No. This is what happens when the Western World refers to the evil Stalinist regime as 'Communist', which couldn't be further from the truth. You could describe Stalin's regime with many words. 'Communism' is not one of them...

Flag holding in cw, Cheating or not?
The PC update today would certainly support that statement. And I hope they do bring in some massive changes - they need to make minigames fun again!

Newest update and its affect to the game
Agreed! Perfectly said! I actually plan to go back to PC maybe in a few days. It's still full of whining idiots who would rather attack the portal when there's 5 spinners regenerating its health... hopefully by then they'll have got a brain or moved onto monsters, and I can actually play with people who have some strategic sense...

Official Pc World Now
Everyone seemed to flood into World 24 when the update came out. I dunno if that was just a British thing though... I doubt most Americans would have been awake when the update was released.

Newest update and its affect to the game
PC clans needed to go... it's one thing setting up a clan for a mini-game that has no real beneift it terms of EXP, such as a CW or BA clan for example; it's entirely another thing setting up an ̮̩̉̉litist clan which only causes a gap between those below 90 and those above it. Minigames are meant to be enjoyed by everyone, not whoever Affliction and Hearts decide to accept. Hopefully, this will go some way into giving Level 90-s a shot at PC. Secondly, I also expect the whole view of PC to change. It's clearly no longer a reliable source of combat EXP, in fact you'd probably get half the amount you used to due to the 3 (or however many) tickets a game. Therefore, the only things of economic worth there are the items, and this pleases me. Why should a minigame be a place to train a skill, especially one such as combat which requires tactical awareness as well as EXP? As for the long-term effect on the economy. TBH, I think monster drops will depreciate in value as people start to realise training on monsters is a better way to gain EXP while picking up a few rare drops on the way. Hopefully, Level 100+s will start DKing, and this would inevitably lead to a depreciation of dragon axes, which in turn would create a boost for the woodcutting market, which in turn drives skillers into firemaking and fletching. Overall, I think this is a good domino effect... forcing people to actually spend time training their skills rather than purely their combat and then "pwning" everyone in the Wildy just to get by. Self-sufficiency is far better than that. So, overall, I think this a VERY good update by Jagex. I can see lots of good potential here.

Community really that bad?
The Xbox 360's main audience is teenage lads. As we've already seen, sticking teenage kids behind a monitor where they can't be seen or made accountable for their actions is a bad, bad thing. However, when I go on the RSOF, wanting to buy raw lobbies, and whenever I try to even negotiaite on their ridiculous pricing just get to ignored while they continue to bump like crazy, I know there is also a definite problem with the RS community as well. I've never seen a game where so many people think it's acceptable to cheat by using Real World Trading/Macro programs, or to swear like crazy over the smallest thing.

Getting into cambridge uni.
Hopefully, you will come to realise that it doesn't actually matter if you go to Oxbridge or any other prestigious unviersity. I could certainly apply for Oxbridge, in fact, my college suggests I do. However, I'm not gonna. Why? Because I feel that the environment is wrong. I'd prefer to go to an urban university like Manchester, Liverpool or Sheffield to do Medicine. To do a course like Medicine, you have to have a social life outside of your studies to take your mind off it all. I don't feel Oxbridge would provide that - it's just too work driven. Don't fall into this trap that getting into Oxbridge = Better education. It still very much varies depending on how you learn, what environment you learn best with and who you get along with. That's your decision, but I just feel Oxbridge wouldn't provide me with the style of learning I'd enjoy, and it would be full of people I feel would look down on me because I come from a less well-off background. That's just how I feel, but just get the message that Oxbridge isn't necessarily the best place to go to.
